  • The best South Pacific cruise trips almost always have one thing in common; a stop at Port Vila Vanuatu. Once there, you’ll likely try to tick off as many of the best things to do in Vanuatu as possible. Travel writer, Chris Stead, stopped by Vanuatu for 2-days during his Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas cruise (link to review below). He didn’t do an official shore excursion, but did make his way with the kids to the Blue Lagoon.
The Vanuatu Blue Lagoon is a must for anyone making a Port Vila, Vanuatu cruise stop. It’s one of the best things to do in Port Vila. It may not offer the best in Vanuatu snorkelling, but it does deliver adventure, thrills and wonder. In this video you’ll learn about how to get to the Blue Lagoon Vanuatu, get a full Vanuatu Blue Lagoon tour, and learn some Vanuatu day trip tips and tricks. It’s undoubtedly a must-do Port Vila shore tour.

I was telling this story to someone a few days ago actually, it's super hard to explain. So he landed in the water, went down to the sandy bottom, then ran - almost on all fours - along the sandy bottom across to the little jetty. But he had no weights, so I guess he exhaled all the air in his lungs and grabbed the sand with his hands to stay down. It was amazing to witness, but he only did it once.

Helpful video, thank you! Are you able to indicate how much you paid the driver for the day? If not the exact price, a price range perhaps?

No worries! I think we paid $150AU for the day, but I think I could have haggled down to AU$100.

@@topephotography I should point out that was for the hell day. So we went to numerous locations as well as Blue Lagoon. And they do base on people number a bit, not just a car price.

Great video! Was wondering how do you meet/organise Ronnie to be your tour guide for the day? And how much should I expect to pay for that sort of service? Thanks heaps :)

Sorry for the delay, been travelling through SE Asia (many videos to come!). He was just one of the many people hassling us when we got off the docks and happened to get us at the right time. We paid AU$150 for 5 people for the day. We haggled down from AU$300 (some people were asking for). My parents went after me, and got the same for AU$100 - so maybe I got ripped off a bit.

Wow that is expensive compared to the tour van option especially with the ticket prices you mentioned in the video. But I suppose you can go where you want at your own leisure with this option.
