Note to self: Don't give it the beans or the full ooga-dooga experience because I don't want that!!!! Man, you're a rock-star in my book!!! Thank you SO MUCH for these videos!!
wish i watched this vid the first time i rebuilt the head due to a broken timing belt, 2 yrs down the road after a cracked radiator, I have to put a head gasket on again, great vid, thanks for the help.
My case was a burnt valve too getting my valves replace too cost a lot too! I’m so a afraid I hope my car works like new again when they replace it! And the misfires code will finally turn off again.. pray for me guys! Getting my car next week !
What's the difference on intakes? Mine has the flat rectangle box, but I see this tubular style intake that I didn't think it would fit. Which intake is better - performance wise? I did get a JDM motor & I had them switched the intake to the original box style. I hear now that the JDM is missing some emission stuff so been sitting for a year as won't start. Original engine had terrible blowby & took a quart of oil/100miles... Thanks for the videos :-)
SamaritanElad mainly its the difference between usdm high comp and low. So the 99-01 CRV would have the box mani. Performance wise? Id have to see dyno graphs
you dont feel you need to use a sealer inconjunction with the head gasket?im just about to do mine and was advised to use "WELLSEAL".Its a kind of guey shellac invented by rolls royce...but i will be putting in sparingly as it get everywhere and never sets...to behonest ,and this is why i am asking,do you think its perfectly fine not to use a sealer and no advantage if you do? the gasket i got is NIPPON LEAKLESS from japan, it is HONDAS OEM gasket
We have never used anything other than head gaskets. Some people used to use copper spray, but we also have multiple world records in racing, the head gasket as is, is fine. As Honda intended.
What are those tubes called that are on top corners? I know it's to hold the gasket in place and so the head sits right on but I don't know what they're called. I appreciate the help
Alex Santana or you can slap another belt on it and start it. Quick and easy and youll find out fast what happened. If it runs good you lucked out if it doesnt? Or compression results look bad? Then you know what it is. I keep spare belts around, find a buddy with one
Ever get a CR-V with a whine that corresponds with car speed? Mine starts at 20-25 mph and by 50 it sounds like something is going to spin off into outer space. Sounds front end but I know shite. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience. more inanity: wonder if you could hit those high notes like Jack does w/ Tenacious D. I sure can't.
If the sound corresponds to wheel speed, and doesn't make any noise while in Park or Neutral while revving? Id start by looking at the axles and wheel bearings in the front. The drive shaft/propeller shaft is another place Id start, the carrier bearing also makes noises like that. Could possibly remove the drive shaft and drive it, does the sound go away? etc. Slowly eliminate each variable until you find the culprit. --And no, I cant sing well at all hahah sadly.
Thanks for your help! Yes, the sound is only when the car is moving, directly proportional to wheel speed. Transmission seems to shift strong and smooth at all speeds. Thing has 258k miles and I want to do as much work as I can. On the Mrs's advice I am taking it to a shop, but if at all possible I'll fix it myself. Big thanks again! You seem like a cool dude and I'll be sure to watch all your CRV vids.
i know Im asking randomly but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Donovan Dustin thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I have a video on the diagnostic process of narrowing it down. However a leak down test and /or compression test will show if it burnt to the point of failure, yes. Thanks for taking the time to view my video.
This was the absolute most helpful guide I've ever seen for a b20 engine. Clear and concise, friendly and not too fast. Good job.
I really appreciate that, thank you!!

I just bought second hand crv99, now it's broke head gasket too. This video is very good. Great man you are!
Sothou2 Ken thanks man :) good luck
Que empaque me recomiendas grafito o laminado me recomendavan grafito para que se molde al blok en caso este doblado
So is there a way to tell if the valve guide seals are bad on a replacement head just by looking at it?
are those dowel pins between the head and block necessary? are they to "help" you align things or do you absolutely need them?
My case was a burnt valve too getting my valves replace too cost a lot too! I’m so a afraid I hope my car works like new again when they replace it! And the misfires code will finally turn off again.. pray for me guys! Getting my car next week !
Been a year later. How did it go?
does the oil pump for the B20B have O ring on the other surface apart from crank seal?

Thanks great video.can you share the link for cylinder head torque specs from factory. I can’t find online

@@roninmotors7466 Hi,thanks for the reply and advice mate :)
Do you have to remove the rocker arms to take the head off ?
What are those tubes called that are on top corners? I know it's to hold the gasket in place and so the head sits right on but I don't know what they're called. I appreciate the help
Do you have to do any "converting" to get a JDM engine to run fine in a US crv?
Or does it just work?
"give it the beans" "the full ugga dugga" -- I understand that reference
Quick question if my timing belt on my b20 busted should I remove the head to make sure I didnt drop a valve??
Alex Santana or you can slap another belt on it and start it. Quick and easy and youll find out fast what happened. If it runs good you lucked out if it doesnt? Or compression results look bad? Then you know what it is. I keep spare belts around, find a buddy with one
Thanks for the video! Just bought an '01 CRV. Off the wall comment, but your voice sounds like Jack Black.
codybroken youre welcome man, thats first hearing that lol right on

what if you mix up the rocketarms did you have to fix it again
If you mix up rocker arms then you have to adjust valves. Very easy and you would do it anyways. Don’t mix up the cam caps! Rocker arms? No problem.
Did you turn the engine anticlockwise to point arrows up of the camshaft
Yup, that's the way the engine rotates.
how will you than it and with what
are you utilized a digital version of the Heynes manual for the torque specs?
kidvapor its the OEM Honda factory manual thats digital. Pretty handy
Any chance you could point me in the right direction to finding this? been google searching for a good minute now with no luck
plse tell me about the roketarms i mess up
re than with thickness gauge int 15 exh 20 tell me if iam korrec
Thanks for another great video! One question, how do I determine my engine's b-series number? Is it stamped somewhere on the engine?
Front side of engine.
i know Im asking randomly but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account??

@Zechariah Kenneth instablaster :)

@Donovan Dustin It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much, you really help me out!
How did you diagnose the burnt valve? Low compression in one cylinder?
I have a video on the diagnostic process of narrowing it down. However a leak down test and /or compression test will show if it burnt to the point of failure, yes. Thanks for taking the time to view my video.
thanks for the help
My book sead 29 then 90° then 90° then 90°
We only use the factory manual directly from Honda.
Let me have one of them engines.. 😀
Elias Shadow just a lil money and their all yours ;)
@@roninmotors7466 Hi. can you sell me a rebuild one?
