Hi Zameer, the tower that you see in the background with the antenna is the OTE tower, 76.4 m high. It is located in the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre, it was built in 1966 and was designed for transmitting broadcasts of the Greek television network and analog VHF mobile telephone network in the 1970s. It was fully renovated in 2005. Today it’s used by Cosmote cellular mobile telephone network. It also has a revolving restaurant, a cafe bar and an observation deck.

Those statues that you saw were of Saints Cyril and Methodius. They were theologian brothers who were known for influencing the religious and cultural development of Slavic peoples, and received the title “the Apostles of the Slavs.”
