This was the best video I've seen yet for beat arrangement. Thank you so much for being at least twice as descriptive on breaking it down than everybody else.
Im sure I will come back again and again to this video because the theory is well explained. I never thought about "removing energy" as a way to come back to the verse. The structure of the beat is simple to watch whats going on and what is most important to have in mind. Thanks man, I appreciate this video as a help!
I can’t believe after years on taking theory & audio engineering courses & still not really getting it until I watched a 5 minute video u did that unlocked everything & finally things r making sense. Thank u soo much. Can you do a in-depth tutorial on using MPC Beats inside FL Studio please? Thanks in advance.
Thanks a lot man....this was helpful. I'm still struggling with adding more elements to a beat to give a bit of life. Can you make a video for people like me one of the days
What’s your email btw, I wanna get a good scope of what you mean so I wanna have a dialogue and possibly listen to and maybe fix a beat or two with that problem
Dope video! Funny how people say they already had arrangement figured out. But they watch the video. These type of producers will never go anywhere. Always give the master his props. Dont try and out teach the teacher. Or you will have bad luck because you did not give that good energy back. Dumb asses. Great teacher and I mean great! Mello you the man!
I noticed the examples r for a 1 verse song ending up @ bar 112, at what bar should a complete song end up @ in double time & what would it look like in regular time. & is it 3 verses & a bridge or just a bridge for the 3rd verse in regard to standards. Can you also do song arrangements for regular time too. I really like the sections labeled at the top of the bar sections. It really helps as I am a very visual learner. Thanks a lot. U r my indirect music professor. I soo appreciate u.
Well where a song ends depends on a few things. First you got the whole arrangement before the ending. How long did you make the intro, 4 bars, 8 bars? then how many verses? Some people do one verse and get out of there, NBA Youngboy does this all the time. most hip hop artists don't do 3 verses on a song nowadays, most of the time its 1 or 2. Second, to go hand in hand with the last example, you can make a whole beat with 3 verses and the artist/engineer fade it out after one verse and 2 hooks. So as far as where a song ends, My advice would be after the final hook, make a 4 to 16 bar outro (double time) and you can put an automated fade out in there or leave it up to the engineer to do a fade out if they want to. In some cases, a track will just end on the last bar of the hook but what i mentioned before is more common. as far as regular time, i may do a short vid on this but to give you the scope in regular time: - 4 to 8 bar intro - 8 bar chorus/hook - 12 bar verse - hook/chorus and verse again - another 8 bar chorus/hook after verse - 4-8 bar outro
New sub. Great channel one of the best I've seen so far...How long do you make your beat. When ever I put my beat in to Audacity to make a song. It doesn't sound right with arrangement. Because cause the beat not long enough for song format. It loops back to the beginning to soon so it goes back to the beginning of the arrangement throwing my flow off.
Depends on the purpose. But in most cases, for artists, my aim is two verses, end with a hook/chorus and maybe a fade out. Don’t hear 3 verses too often anymore. One verse can work too.
i need u pleaz to make vidieo about haw the rappers shous select the keys for singing on i mean the famouse keys that use much by the rappers and haw to make catchy melodies or chourus
Really enjoy your vids, they have been really helpful. Do you think this type of arrangement technique could work for edm? I was able to apply you melody and chord teachings but we don't really have hooks in edm, so I'm wondering what your perspective is. Anyway keep up the good work
It’s all about format. I plan on getting into deep house music & other dance music in the future because I’ve always liked experimenting with it (dunno if I’ll do it much on the channel) but it depends on the specific type of dance music you’re making. To keep it simple, if you’re making Calvin Harris type music, this could work because those are songs, the format is similar. But if you’re doing pure instrumental dance music, the format I mentioned won’t apply. You gotta figure out the format in multiples of 4. You gotta learn how to automate modulation on synths to build up to the drop. You gotta know how long the drop last and how to transition out the drop. You’d have to either: A. Study dance songs yourself by counting the bars of each section or B. Find General EDM tutorials or specified genre tutorials on arrangement
Appreciate yall, Be sure to let me know what yall wanna see

I’ll try to remember that as a concept for a video because that will be good

I've never tried 24 bars for a verse before. I'm inspired asf to try it out now with a similar arrangement! thanks dog
It's really 12 in single time or to a rapper but being that I'm in the DAW talking to producers, I gotta be specific. Thanks for watching
