This is good for intro to phonology. Once you get outside English, you find examples of lots more things. Even in English, nasals may be syllabic ("Latin") and [h] is also constricted glottis so this is rather simplified.
Thanks, really love what you do! If you have time and find it intriguing, would you like to upload a video on the chinese remainder theorem in one of your discrete math playlists?
Depends on how well I know the material or how accessible it is to find examples. For these linguistics videos, a template usually takes me 15-30 minutes, and then however long the video takes to record. Usually I can do a decent recording in one go, but some of the more technical videos may take three or four attempts. Finding the time to record, making thumbnails, rendering videos, doing sneaky edits, and syncing audio and video are generally a lot more time consuming.
I just started learning feature geometry in my phonology class and this was a big help, thank you!
super clear and informative presentation! thank u!

Yes, nasals may be syllabic, but they have a diacritic to note it. Also, [h] is not [+C.G.]. [ʔ] is [+C.G.]
Thank you so much for sharing this video, it´s just the kind of explanation i needed it.

Thanks, so what is the weakness and strength of feature geometry ?
04:46 Wow, a contextual grammar _with variables_ ? That's something new :> Is this Chomsky level 5 or something? :J
this is amazing.
Nice video. But what about tones?
thank you so helpful
thank you so much!!!!
how long does it take you to create a video
