I will never ever ever forget the bit at 13:24 when I was at an old friends house and the cutscene at this very second starting glitching out and Rayman wouldn't stop repeating the same thing over and over despite the fact that it was glitched I remember how we all thought it was funny
I remember as a kid when he said damn I went and told my mom and I was crying because he said a bad word and was afraid she would take the game away XD
I felt nostalgic for Rayman 2 recently, but couldn't play my old ps1 version, so I got it for pc instead. It was in a certain sense a better experience, since I got to play through all the stuff that was cut from the ps1 version, and therefore got to experience the game more in the way the developers intended. But I have to admit, it is really not the same without the voice acting, which is why I had to go here after finishing the game. God, I hope Ubisoft will get their act together and make a new Rayman game, hopefully in the 3rd dimension. Rayman was at his peak in 2 and 3 if you ask me. This series is too good to be forgotten.
I think having the full content from the dreamcast version - with the added cutscenes and dialogue (with an option for the gibberish) would be an excellent compromise. Some aspects of the PS1 version I really like. But it is ultimately like a beta version of the final game.
The story of the game is much better presented in this version. For example, the introduction of the other versions is a continuous shot over the ocean until we see the Buccaneer, but in the PlayStation version, there are different shots of the pirate ships in search of more victims to capture, adding weight to what the narrative tells us. In addition, this version includes small dialogues that add more context (for example, to the mask guardians), also the music is not abruptly shortened at the end of the scenes. Although, it also has its flaws, such as not being able to choose the treasure at the end of The Cave of Bad Dreams and omitting the message to Rayman at the end of the game. I hope that if someday a modern remake of this game is made, devs will take into consideration the best of all the versions.
This Version is The PlayStation 1 port of Rayman 2: The Great Escape. and This was the port i grew up playing. Although this port constricted half of the game's content because of sound files taking up space on the disc. The Sega Dreamcast port, This PlayStation 1 port, The PlayStation 2 remake, also known as Revolution, and The Nintendo 3DS port, called Rayman 3D are my favorite ports of Rayman 2: The Great Escape.

I’m just a guy who wants to apply math to what Rayman does…I have fun doing this. 3:34 Assuming that the ship is hovering at a median height of 10,515 m, which is the average height of commercial airplanes fly at and also assuming that Rayman’s weight is about 50 kg in correlation with his 5ft height. He endured about 10,305,288 Newtons of force or 2,316,720.912 lbs-force. That’s impressive; that’s more than 1,000 tons and he just walked it off…although he was “dizzy”. 4:07 If we take Rayman’s canon height of 5ft and scale that to how high he jumped, that’s about ~20ft with a running start; though I believe this is the high end of the calculate due to the gameplay showing that he can do roughly his own height and a bit more with a vertical jump… 11:40 Rayman will destroy this metal cage so I can scale this…Assuming he punched the cage and didn’t use any kind of magic(Raw strength), he must’ve exerted about 30-50 tons of force. The highest it can be is around 90 tons…since this is metal.
Voice acting weren't that bad and rayman is cute. The only thing I found robotic about the cut scenes is Ly her facial expressions look almost lifeless.
