it's hard to tell where this device is on the car is that up underneath the tank I got a friend who's 2008 sierra he's got a problem the ground strap broke and I believe it burned up a ground wire somewhere it's got some kind of wiring problem and I believe it shut off the power to the fuel pump big part of the problem is she's got too many hacks working on her cars. I've scan the codes on it I found several there's also been some recalls on the cars talking about rewiring the wiring harness but I was wondering did you have any kind of a grounding problem before this burned up on you basically what happened to her was the ground strap from the engine to the chassis your body or something broke the dealership probably wants $1000 to fix it it's sounding like and if they have to re-program stuff I don't doubt that I know people will have spent $3000 for that kind of stuff in my opinion these new cars are a big scam. All you do is chase bad after bad. Anyways just thought I'd get your opinion and where did you end up getting your part and how much did you end up having to pay for it if it is this part it can be bought and cheaply I would help her do that if not I would probably bypass it I'm worried she's not gonna have a truck before winter time in winter is moving up Fast and Pennsylvania it was 34° this morning
@sciencemansandera hi there the fuel control module is located right above the spare tire. You will need to lower tire to see it. I did not have no ground wire problems. When turning the key i noticed the fuel pump was turning on as it had no sound. So I manually wired positive and negative wires to fuel pump to make sure it was still working. Once I figured the fuel pump was working turned on and off manually knew it had to be the fuel control module. So that's why I bypassed it by installing kill switch straight to battery. I had a fuel pump control module code i don't remember which one it was. What codes are showing on yours?
Cant see which wire you spliced into can you show better
