I've always considered these guys bluegrass royalty ever since the first Bluegrass Band album came out. Mostly traditional with a little extra thrown in for flavor. The best.
You could say it was better as Christine's Tune--which has a story to it as well related to Laurel Canyon in the 60s. Nonetheless this would become the "greatest" 2nd generation Bluegrass Band because of the wide distribution and near flawless versions of the classics. Who could want more? I'm more surprised that they actually did much performing--and even went as far as to perform with Tony Rice on guitar and not doing vocals, which is a tribute to just how great a Bluegrass stylist he is. Think how hard that must be for him not to be able to sing.
A nice little reminder that even JD Crowe is still human!
+Brendan Macie I'll bet its been over 50 years since JD tagged one like that
love seeing and hearing TR still in good health and full warm voice.
RIP Tony - What a musician.

Gram tune...He'd love that it goes on. Cherryholmes does a nice take on this...
They did most of the first BGAB album on this show, I think this was the third song on it
This was a good group.

the burritos!!!!
Love Jerry's mullet!
I'm sorry but that lick at the very end was hilarious. I gotta learn that one.
What do you call that lick?
What actually happened is one of the stage hands told JD they were going to go to a fade which they did not. So wasnt his fault but the stage hand.
It looks like he went to do the ending in Bb but messed up since they were in A
He did mess up BUT I have to give it to him he didn't give a hell he was on TV he stepped up to the mic and kicked of and ended it right!!!!!
I love God .Jesus I pray you will love my family take us to heaven and heaven is my home please help me to pray God
David Payton you know this is a bluegrass music video, right?
yep ,burritos babay!
Actually this was from the third volume,"California Connection"
JD got a little tangled up there...
is bobby hicks playing a 5 string fiddle there
Hicks usually plays a 5-string.
How young was Jerry Douglas for this one ?
SON rice mashed it!!!!!!
I’m so glad the “SON” and “Mash” fad died out. Do people still actually say that anymore except Jim Van Cleve lmao
the american pioneering spirit lives on in bluegrass........ not country
They don't seem to have it all together do they?
Someone is out of tune.
Devil in disguise blue grass gospel music video band dale perry play banjo
Bluegrass is not hick music. Realize that and it all becomes clear.
