Bruce is why I listen to Old Tyme Music. He is the best. I have seen him twice and hope to see him again. Definitely in the select group of one of the best muscians in all the World.
Saw them in N.London in a church venue last year and they were fabulous! Been a fan of Bruce for a long time. I ran a folk club in London and booked him in the 90s when he was just beginning to be known over here. One of the best gigs I ever arranged over here was Bruce, Audrey and Brad Leftwich playing together. That was out of this world good!
Listen to Allison doubling the lead with the fiddle and never losing the "drop thumb," , clawhammer lick. Unreal for someone her age. She must have started playing before she was walking.
BRUCE Molsky is to Old Timey what Kenny Baker was to Bluegrass; Technically excellent, smooth as cashmere, and sweet vibes to the moon...🌹 ALLISON is captivating to watch as well, good God when she smiles, how does the camera NOT melt?!? 😉 STASH is crazy good too! He throws in the coolest runs that KILL! Some of the very best I’ve ever heard is right here; Skillet Lickers, Highwoods, Freight Hoopers not withstanding...❤️ And the vocals!!!
@@chrisgibbsphoto Cool 😎 I subscribed, thank you. I’ve not been around Old Timey for awhile, absolutely blown away by how much great music is out there now!
The Kenny Baker comparison is EXACTLY what I thought when I watched this. Something about their fiddles just sound so, I don't know, alive or something.
I love this very much and would love to play like that .but please can I ask a question - is Mr Molsky using his thumb to stop some of the low notes ? Or is his thumb just moving about to allow the double to play
Tapping my feet and nodding my head. I managed to not type a really childish joke either. It must be starting I'm finally growing up. Turned 46 today always knew I was a slow developer but I think my body's taking the piss
Oh. Thanks for pointing that out,. I've only been listening to this stuff for 60 years. My ear says a good idea to give the listener a break from the fiddle - like it or not - traditional or not. But thanks for your reply to my posted comment.
The band is lovely. Thank you

He's awfully good.
AMEN
Everything an Old- Time Band would have hope to sound like. You will the prize
Whoops: you win the prize for best old-time band in America2024
I love how they smile at each other.
SOUNDS BEST OUTSIDE...OR ANYWHERE IF IT'S YOU GUYS. EXCELLENT. THANKS FOR PLAYING FOR THE WORLD !
Wow, what a great video! Killer playing and such nice camera work. Shot from a ways back and zoomed in.

Damn good! These boys can play!
BOYS!!??? Allison is not a BOY!!
Yes they can. Oh them boys...

Is she playing?
Sorry, was blinded by her beauty..😉🌹
@@BarrySmithviolin Is she playing? Maybe you should try again and close you eyes, but, you're right she is quite attractive.
I love the idea of a guitarist called Stash!
Allison has the amazing skill to support and lift up the fiddle with her clawhammer banjo. Doesn't look too hard to do. So why can 't I ... ?
Allison also has the ability to illuminate our world with her gorgeous smile! 😍
Wonderful 😀

I have a few more equally good clips of them, I’ll fish them out and post ASAP.

The video's over and my foot won't quit tapping.
I'll try to post the rest of their performance soon.

Excuse me but I just wore out the rug from tapping my foot.
Fantastic, that's what its all about! Cheers, Chris :)

Wawazette first tune?
"Speed Trap Over the Hill"
That witchcraft right after the three minute mark!
Which camera do you shoot with?
Nothing fancy, just the Sony RX10ll for video. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1159880-REG/sony_dsc_rx10_mark_2_digital.html
Thanks! Great image quality.
@@chrisgibbsphoto Great video! What microphone do you use?
@@BarrySmithviolin Thanks Barry, it’s a Sony ECM-MS2 stereo mic mounted in their XLR adapter.
Hello ! Any chance the fiddle could let Allison take a break ?
She is the heart of the song and doing exactly the right things through the whole performance.
It's Old Timey, not bluegrass. No breaks taken for individuals. All play together as in the video.

@@bluegrasscannuk She's keeping it interesting, but I hear you, there is fiddle fatigue, but I think the problem is volume dynamics.
