I'm 74 and never smoked. I sat next to a Russian tourist at the Petrossian Bar at the Bellagio, and his cig. smoke brought tears to my eyes. So, I got up and did some tourist stuff and then I came back to the bar, and he had left so problem solved. I do not want a ban; I am from the old "Don't tread on me" school and it is refreshing to me to see this display of what little freedoms we have left. Las Vegas at least gives the illusion of "Live and Let Die." which I think is one of its charms that tourists enjoy and keep coming back to.
Can you really be from the old school if you're sitting crying next to a Russian? 😂
No alcohol or hamburgers. No large sodas or french fries
Smoked most of my life... but I'm all for non-smoking casinos... we go out of our way to find them.

Yes Canada casinos are awesome….here casinos in the states are still living in the Stone Age with smoking inside so everyone can get Lung C and Uncle Sam taxing 40% of our winnings💀

Good observations, I've always thought that the not smoking sections were tighter than a snakes ass
I'm against smoking bans in Las Vegas and I'm not even a smoker.
We have a few large Indian Casinos in my state and the state next to ours, before we had to wear masks they were all smoking, your clothes would smell, eyes burn, sinus problems just trying to also enjoy ourselves gambling. After the Casinos opened back up for business they went non smoking, they are busy all the time and have continued to stay smoke free, they would not have done this if they were losing any money from smokers not coming . A gambler will come if they can smoke inside or not.
Has Park MGM lost revenue due to being non smoking??
We have a Native Casino in Edmonton that has 2 casinos , one is smoking and one is non smoking ! it's a perfect balance
Not sure if banning a bad habit for people who regularly go to casinos, which is also a bad habit will be good for the casinos bottom line.
If they can stop smoking @casino, they can quit smoking, and they can also quit going to the casino.

Casino, don’t care about gambling addiction, as most of their revenue comes from problem gamblers.
I don't smoke and don't like it in the casinos on American cruise ships, but I didn't notice it in Vegas casinos . Perhaps the ventilation is better, and I'm sure it'll affect their revenue. So 50 50. Mx

simple, let some casinos be non smoking, let others allow smoking. Let people have a choice. No need for all or nothing on this topic. Side note: cigars seem to be a target of rub out as the percentage of cigar people are dwindling, so are places that allow it even in "smoking casinos" . Let this be a lesson, as said in the video, maybe no ban in the next 5 or 10 years, but the day is coming of a full ban.
I don't think they'll ban smoking completely. Because smoking is an addiction , gambling can also be addictive. And that is a personality type they want to attract.

They pulled that shit in Illinois and casino attendance dropped 50%
Harrahs banned it in NC and New Orleans and also Pompano Beach and casino profitability went up. There is outdoor smoking spots at all of these places
The outdoor smoking spots sometimes turn into drinking parties
They banned smoking in several Midwest states that have Casino's.. I think the revenue actually increased.. I smoked for 20 years and played and I actually went to the non-smoking areas at times just because it was rough... I hate walking up to a slot machine and seeing mess a smoker left all over the machine...

I don't smoke and I hate the cigarette smell in Vegas however I believe it is a private business owners right to call the shots inside their own property! Thanks for telling us about the tighter slots in non smoking slot areas Bror!
I'm a non-smoker however, I don't see any smoking bans on the casino floors anytime soon.
It's called SIN CITY for a reason. I believe smokers make up around 20 % of their clientele that bring in around 85% of their gaming revenue.
Most people visit Vegas for only 3 days. Suck it up. Another note is the casinos loose money when smokers leaves too go smoke. And might not come back.

@BrorFredrik Absolutely. I'm a longtime slot player on a weekly basis. I met you at the Bellagio this past April by the bathrooms located near the players desk (Nick from Boston). Glad I met you. Been watching you since covid. Watch some TH-cam videos and the time. The average player hits the button 15 times a minute. If the average bet is $1 . That's $15.00 a minute. Mine average is a $100 a minute. Casinos want 3 -4 hrs of play for comps a day. My cigars at two a day is 4-5 hrs of smoking. Cigarettes at least 2 an hour I'm guessing and time away from the machine. It takes 5 minutes just too get outside of some of these Casinos. Do the math.
if all casinos in as vegas were non smoking, (much like all hotels now are non smoking), then they lose me for life and i never go back to vegas, i just stick with hardrock casinos that have smoking and non smoking sections! the casinos would lose alot of money from not having smokers!!
Smoking has been banned in Las Vegas poker rooms since 2001 and it has been very positive. I've been to Vegas with my three kids (all in their 20s) and they think it's disgusting because of the smoke. Vegas will lose the next generation if they don't change.
I had a father in law die at the ripe out age of 52 of lung cancer, an over 30 year smoker. It is an ugly thing to see someone you love melt away and eventually die. Smokers need to give up smoking if they have any relatives that love them. Second hand smoke is a real problem. I only play in nonsmoking casinos or at least nonsmoking slot areas. I'm 79 and I hate cigarette smoke. Canada already bans smoking in casinos.

Banning smoking in the casinos has no effect on the revenue of casinos.
Nothing like being a table games dealer and having 2 or more smokers smoking at the table.

I’am a connoisseur of fine cigars and I look forward to enjoying those cigars in the casino with friends and by myself. If cigarette or cigar smoke bothers you there’s casinos that are smoke free.

@@cnn787-i9e Such a heated topic among people. It’s nice to know there are options for non-smokers. Many states have smoking and nonsmoking sections in the casino or an outside patio smoking area and if you are in Vegas you can visit Park MGM or BC slots section at the Plaza both smoke free.
Yes, there are smoke-free casinos, but only one in all of Nevada.
I am not a smoker and due to residual issues from Covid I only have 65% lung function. I don’t want a ban on smoking but I wish there were designated non-smoking areas with their own air filtration systems.

Most indoor places today are none smoking. Today nonsmokers far far outnumber smokers, not like 30 years ago when there were a lot more smokers and the cigarettes were not as dangerous as today. Banning smoking in Vegas Casinos is not only a good idea, its also good for everyone's health especially the smoker. Smoking today is sad. Many chemicals in the tobaccos are dangerous. Also the smell . Yes I was a smoker and I am really glad I don't smoke anymore. Feels really good. Over 30 years nonsmoker.
I'm for a smoking ban. Not necessarily for me, but for the casino workers who deserve a safe and clean workspace. I can't imagine what it is like for a dealer who has to put up with smoke and can't walk away from it. I notice more and more tribal California casinos are moving to entirely non-smoking. The entire city of Las Vegas is dependant on casino revenue.
The money is generated into our local economy of 2,953.000 residents. It isn't podunk Springs Co.

Two words... Sin City.
I will use a San Diego example San Diego County had between 20 and 30 bowling centers in the 1990s. Only a handful or two hands are left after they banned smoking in them. Only 2 are left in the city of San Diego that are not on military bases. One is on the San Diego State campus and the other is in Mira Mesa. I conclude that the smoking bans caused them to lose customers. Same thing happens to Vegas if they banned smoking in casinos. One of my better Vegas experiences was when I stayed at the since torn down America's Best Value Inn and had a smoking room.
Gambling is an addiction not bowling….Casinos will always be full of gamblers even if they ban smoking just look at Barona casino & Pechanga both non-smoking and always packed

No, there's only one casino in all of Nevada that has banned smoking, and that is Park MGM.
um unfortunately I do smoke and I would never travel so far to not smoke while gaming, bever ever would go back again. I do think they could offer a non smoking areas too but my local casino in ny has a smoking casino and non. I always find the smoking casino much busier. Connecticut banned smoking and I never went back. Atlantic city has some areas smoking and smoke free so I would still go. Vegas has at least 1 non smoking casino I know off, great good for non smokers, but I would not visit it. Plus they go on the city for do anything etc, why on earth would they ever ban smoking. I think peeps who dont even smoke have a smoke in Vegas sometimes, lol just for the fun of it. Finally government needs to have less control over things such as this Just my opinion
I saw some tourists years ago at the Monte Carlo who were amazed to see a cigarette machine in the casino. I don't smoke but for a Las Vegas gag photo, I would go unshaven, wear a sleeveless t-shirt, mess up my hair, have a cigarette hanging out my mouth, have a good hangover, and be playing a slot machine.
I’m a cigar smoker. Smoking is part of the experience and should not be banned. A lot of local bars in the US and 100 year old pubs in England are shutting down after smoking bans because people want to smoke while they drink. I just read an article about it. Leave it alone, some casinos will allow it, some won’t and people can vote with their feet. There is a local casino near me that banned smoking a while ago and then reversed their decision after too many big players said they wouldn’t come back.
Casinos have good ventilation systems. I never noticed smoke when I was there. I do not support a ban. That'd be a big mistake on their part to outlaw it.

When I come to Vegas, I like to have a good cigar & bourbon while playing the slots. Take it away no sense of coming to Vegas.

If the casinos want to include non smoking sections, That’s fine. Meanwhile I don’t think all casinos should ban smoking entirely. There’s no perfect solution to this debate, I know many people who get sick when they’re exposed to cigarette smoke, and that’s the main reason why they never gamble. If a casino chooses to be smoke free, I don’t really care but I don’t want all casinos to be smoke free.

I'd rather see more smoke-free casinos where non-smokers have more choices and not forced to sit next to smokers. I think the ones voting against non-smoking casinos are getting their pockets lined.
