Great to see this and to see Ben doing so well. My husband and I met in the Orpheus dance hall in Belfast in 1967 and Joe Dolan and The Drifters was my favourite band. Yer man here got to like Joe's music too - he'd no option! When we all got a bit older and the Joe Shows came along we never missed one. The Waterfront Hall, The Opera House and any hotels where he was playing in NI. I was devastated the night I heard Joe had died. We both agreed to go to Mullingar for his funeral and left home at 6.30 am to drive through the wind and rain and got lost a few times. We got there and of course couldn't get into the Church for the crowds. When the cortege came along we were standing very close to where Ben was and my heart broke for him. 😢 On a lighter note thank God for TH-cam. Never a day goes by when I don't listen and watch Joe. I'm an oul lady now and I hope when my time comes and I cross over I still hear Joe's voice... sometimes I think my family wonder about me but they know much I loved him, almost as much as my lovely long-suffering husband! 😅 ❤ ❤
Wow it's great to see the Dolan family. I cant believe Ben is coming up 90, he doesn't look anything near 90. I've seen Joe live several times in the UK and Ireland. Great singer and entertainer. Rest in peace Joe.
