I feel like Georgi can say all the right things and it still wouldn’t be enough for Darcey. She is in love with the fantasy of being in love. There is no perfect guy! Everyone brings in their emotional baggage/unresolved trauma into relationships. People have flaws! She keeps doing the same thing, over and over, and expects a different outcome. She is so painful to watch at times.

I can relate to Georgi's response because I am a private person and would never want to discuss problems or issues in front of other people. Dr Honda, I've been waiting for you to draw the hypothesis that Stacey may be saying and doing things, subconsciously, that cast doubt on Darcey's relationship. I feel that for Stacey, as long as she can highlight the very normal ambiguities in Darcey's relationship, it moves the anxiety she feels from her relationship to Darcey. And then Stacey can feel comfortable again by focusing on Darcey's issues and being Darcey's protector. But also; what do I know?

In a relationship, the key to confronting and resolving issues with your partner, you need to keep it either between you and your partner or you, your partner and a therapist. You don't involve your entire family, their exes and in this case, the entire world. But given how biased family can be towards your partner and your relationship, they'll only make it worse more often than not. Exes are almost always biased. And here you have Darcey, with Stacey in the corner with a big gallon of gasoline, all too happy to throw fuel on the fire and more than too obliged to watch the relationship burn. If that doesn't prove how, here and in her previous relationships, why you don't involve family in your problems in certain personal matters then I don't know what will. It's toxic.
Same on both counts. I've experienced prolonged, belligerent interrogation like this, where you try and fail over and over to provide a response satisfying enough to make it stop. It's awful, and I hate to see someone who seems as sweet and mild-mannered as Georgi be put through it.

Poor Georgie. I didn’t know I was divorced for years after. I didn’t get anything in the mail or email. Confirmation had been sent to my ex. My ex had been the one to hand in the paperwork, at the time they had told me they’d put in a self addressed envelope for my copy of the paperwork to be mailed to me - I suspect incompetence on their part (I doubt they put a stamp on the envelope) or maybe they lied to me (as they often did) or maybe it was yet another passive aggressive act on their part, who knows 🤷. I stressed about it every day for two years without a way to check up on it, finally I reached out to my ex’s best friend and she had them email me a copy… which is when I saw the date, it’d been finalized two years earlier.

So maybe they are divorced but the ex wife didn’t get a thing in the mail and hasn’t tracked down the information. Georgi seems to be scared to show his true feelings, years of avoidance and shutting down will take years of trust and therapy to open up to. Just for this reason, I'd say Darcey deserves better. To Georgi; it probably enhances his belief in 'vulnerability is scary' 'so i'll just be sexy and look for something superficial even though I crave love and stability very much so' Lessons learned? I doubt it... It takes time and space and self-observation to reflect back and learn from your experiences. Georgi seems like he may pause to consider this, but Darcey on the other hand... She is just living for 'attention'. And that's toxic. Her understanding of love is toxic. Watching these dr. Honda reaction/commentary videos have made me realize more than ever how much our actions and, even more so, words, can affect others and some things said/done cannot be taken back ever, so we have to be conscientious.
Stacey is just a toxic presence in Darcey's relationship. Absolutely nothing positive ever comes out of her mouth. She actually never had anything positive to say to Darcey about any of her recent relationships. Everything that she says is negative and she is suspicious of everyone that her sister dates. Yet she was really quick to dismiss and disregard Florian's indiscretion with that woman.. I get a bad vibe that she doesn't really want her sister to be happy at some subconscious level. it’s interesting to me how the sisters say “he feels like” or “he wants,” and how they have a lot of mind-reading distortions. i actually relate a lot to darcey and stacey’s core insecurities, and i actually used to talk like this all the time! it’s common to use mind-reading type language but when it gets to a point where you think you know someone’s inner feelings or their intentions when you have never actually asked them, it gets really dicey. curiosity, and “I,” statements, and assuming best intentions have been so key for me in improving my communication and relationships!

I think it's really important to take Georgi's language barrier into consideration. I'm a fluent English speaker, but it's not my first language and it's still very difficult to communicate nuanced relationship issues/preoccupations/etc.

Can I just say, I HATE IT when one of the people on these shows confronts another person, or has an important conversation with another person, and somebody else is present who also has a dog in the fight. (Or who thinks they have a dog in the fight.) I hated seeing that Andrei was present while Becka and Jenn confronted their father about missing him, because obviously Andrei has an interest in the situation and is likely to pipe up. I hate that Stacey and Florian are present while Darcey "confronts" Georgi - and that Stacey was present when Darcey met with Octavia - because Stacey and Florian have their own opinions and have reached their own conclusions about Georgi, and it's no skin off their necks if the relationship between Darcey and Georgi ends, so of course they're going to add unnecessary hostility to the situation. Can't these people just meet up with the relevant people alone? Can't they just manage their relationships directly?

And she's asking if he respects her but she isn't respecting him and she has set him up so that he can't win. This is emotional abuse.
Dr Honda, I've been waiting for you to draw the hypothesis that Stacey may be saying and doing things, subconsciously, that cast doubt on Darcey's relationship. I feel that for Stacey, as long as she can highlight the very normal ambiguities in Darcey's relationship, it moves the anxiety she feels from her relationship to Darcey. And then Stacey can feel comfortable again by focusing on Darcey's issues and being Darcey's protector. But also; what do I know?

In a relationship, the key to confronting and resolving issues with your partner, you need to keep it either between you and your partner or you, your partner and a therapist. You don't involve your entire family, their exes and in this case, the entire world. But given how biased family can be towards your partner and your relationship, they'll only make it worse more often than not. Exes are almost always biased. And here you have Darcey, with Stacey in the corner with a big gallon of gasoline, all too happy to throw fuel on the fire and more than too obliged to watch the relationship burn. If that doesn't prove how, here and in her previous relationships, why you don't involve family in your problems in certain personal matters then I don't know what will. It's toxic.

Poor Georgie. I didn’t know I was divorced for years after. I didn’t get anything in the mail or email. Confirmation had been sent to my ex. My ex had been the one to hand in the paperwork, at the time they had told me they’d put in a self addressed envelope for my copy of the paperwork to be mailed to me - I suspect incompetence on their part (I doubt they put a stamp on the envelope) or maybe they lied to me (as they often did) or maybe it was yet another passive aggressive act on their part, who knows 🤷. I stressed about it every day for two years without a way to check up on it, finally I reached out to my ex’s best friend and she had them email me a copy… which is when I saw the date, it’d been finalized two years earlier.
Damn I would have never imagined. What a stupid system! Sorry u went thru that.

So maybe they are divorced but the ex wife didn’t get a thing in the mail and hasn’t tracked down the information. Just because Darcy was mailed paperwork with her divorce, doesn’t mean that’s how it happens everywhere. My point is that one can be divorced and not aware of it for quite some time out of totally legit circumstances.

Stacey is definitely sabotaging Darcey's relationships. Georgi may not be fully in love with Darcey - yet, but he seems to be in it for love and other benefits and I don't think nothing wrong with that, considering that's how Darcey shows her love- with gifts and treating her partner like a 'princess'. Georgi seems to be scared to show his true feelings, years of avoidance and shutting down will take years of trust and therapy to open up to. Just for this reason, I'd say Darcey deserves better. But she ain't an angel. She is so desperately in love with the idea of 'perfect mate' she can't tolerate anything 'normal' or 'confusing'. Relationships requires lots of curiosity, openness to be vulnerable and being open to receive love. Darcey is closed off, she might be saying everything on her mind but physically she isn't open to receive love. I bet she wanted Georgi to chase her after throwing her ring off but she's given no clue about that's what she wants in her communication. Instead, she puts all of her fears and blames Georgi unfairly for feeling unwell in their relationship and that causes Georgi to shut down even more. Take it slow girl... Can you learn to take it slow? Why do you want him to propose to you immediately? Then freak out about getting married with him "I don't know him well enough so I'm throwing this ring off"... Don't you think that's a bit extra, Darcey? Can you just be "enough" other than over the top? I mean, that shit is scary to anyone. You are not the only one in the relationship, Georgi has a right to be scared and have confusions too... The fact that she is 'attacking' him with "you're a liar. do you even love me? respect me?" questions may seem 'fair' to some, but you're dealing with an avoidant guy who is interested in you. All you're doing is pushing him away and feeding his fears that he cannot be vulnerable with you... For this reason, they're not a good fit. If they were both aware of their own attachment injuries and working on it personally, only then I can say there's a good chance they could be a good fit. But to Darcey, it's all about 'loving her'... To Georgi; it probably enhances his belief in 'vulnerability is scary' 'so i'll just be sexy and look for something superficial even though I crave love and stability very much so' Lessons learned? I doubt it... It takes time and space and self-observation to reflect back and learn from your experiences. Georgi seems like he may pause to consider this, but Darcey on the other hand... She is just living for 'attention'. And that's toxic. Her understanding of love is toxic. So whether men she finds are for sure toxic or not, her own beliefs and attitudes towards men is going to put her in a toxic place no matter what. Plus, Stacey is always there to sabotage her happiness with men. And that's whole another story...

Watching these dr. Honda reaction/commentary videos have made me realize more than ever how much our actions and, even more so, words, can affect others and some things said/done cannot be taken back ever, so we have to be conscientious.
Stacey is just a toxic presence in Darcey's relationship. Absolutely nothing positive ever comes out of her mouth. She actually never had anything positive to say to Darcey about any of her recent relationships. Everything that she says is negative and she is suspicious of everyone that her sister dates. Yet she was really quick to dismiss and disregard Florian's indiscretion with that woman.. I get a bad vibe that she doesn't really want her sister to be happy at some subconscious level. The poor man is just sitting there in a coat his fiance gave him and she's saying that he's giving himself airs? It's really sad.

it’s interesting to me how the sisters say “he feels like” or “he wants,” and how they have a lot of mind-reading distortions. i actually relate a lot to darcey and stacey’s core insecurities, and i actually used to talk like this all the time! it’s common to use mind-reading type language but when it gets to a point where you think you know someone’s inner feelings or their intentions when you have never actually asked them, it gets really dicey. curiosity, and “I,” statements, and assuming best intentions have been so key for me in improving my communication and relationships!

I think it's really important to take Georgi's language barrier into consideration. I'm a fluent English speaker, but it's not my first language and it's still very difficult to communicate nuanced relationship issues/preoccupations/etc.

Can I just say, I HATE IT when one of the people on these shows confronts another person, or has an important conversation with another person, and somebody else is present who also has a dog in the fight. (Or who thinks they have a dog in the fight.)
I hated seeing that Andrei was present while Becka and Jenn confronted their father about missing him, because obviously Andrei has an interest in the situation and is likely to pipe up. I hate that Stacey and Florian are present while Darcey "confronts" Georgi - and that Stacey was present when Darcey met with Octavia - because Stacey and Florian have their own opinions and have reached their own conclusions about Georgi, and it's no skin off their necks if the relationship between Darcey and Georgi ends, so of course they're going to add unnecessary hostility to the situation.
Can't these people just meet up with the relevant people alone? Can't they just manage their relationships directly?
