Power System Protection: Lect-91: Resistance Switching in Circuit Breakers

Circuit breakers are subjected to severe over voltages while interrupting low inductive current as well as low capacitive current. To reduce the severity of these over voltages and to control the RRRV, a resistance is connected across the breaker poles. This video lecture explains the resistance switching in detail.
