    Pleiades is quite possibly the most vital & important song ever written. Gave birth to the King’s X sound we all know and love without end.

    Very cool video. In the late '80's I read a quote by George Lynch in a magazine "Thank God For King's X". they had 2 records out at the time, I got them. It changed my life,

    Kings, X and Creed. Is it just me or are they in the same category? Love Both bands. They have the same popularity in my books. Faith, Hope and love. Wow! What an album

      Creed isn't worthy to provide catering to King's X.

    It is absolutely mindboggling to see one band change so much over time. This documentary is really incredible intimate access to an incredible band.

    I saw them three times at Toad's Place, New Haven, Ct. and they were great every time. Twice I waited for them at their tour bus and they were all very cool. Once they autographed my ticket and another time they went on the bus and brought out a King's X poster which they all signed. I was a young wide-eyed rocker and I remember telling Jerry "I have all your cds", and he said "they make great Christmas gifts". I was just a star-struck dipshit but they were all friendly, and Doug is just like on this video, quiet but seems like a real good soul. It still amazes me that they are not even more popular, despite their talents and great songwriting. Maybe that lends validity to what they do, seeing all the shit that is popular now. When they did "We Were Born To Be Loved" live, with all the stops and changes, it brought the house down. Great musicianship, great songwriting, great vocals (especially Doug), but even more admirable, very cool, down-to-earth dudes.

    One of the most under appreciated bands ever !! KING'S X IS AWESOME !!! I saw them open in 1991 for Living Colour and they blew the roof off the Orlando Sports Center !!

    A friend dragged me down to Slims in San Francisco one evening with promises of a fantastic powerband., ...
    She was absolutely spot on and ive had Kings X unique harmonized vocal metal/grunge in my head ever since.

    This is truly great. Nothing like watching about a band's beginnings. King's X deserve all the success and accolades. Interesting how they literally lost their Edge to become Sneak Preview.

    • @seamus2112ophelan
      @seamus2112ophelan 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no way I could ever argue with that statement! There have certainly been other very good trios, but just look at the longevity and body of work of both King's X and Rush...and there really is no comparison. In a league unto themselves! !

      +reachdown76 Agreed and I dare say, The Police, rate with these guys as well BUT King's X is my favorite band of any band.

      +reachdown76 i love King's X but how about a lil band called CREAM

    • @seamus2112ophelan
      @seamus2112ophelan 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Caesar Leza No doubt that Cream were awesome and were influential to both bands (especially Rush) but the point we were making is the longevity and body of work for both K.X. and Rush...30 -40 years worth, compared to Creams 2 year career and handful of records. That's all.
      A couple other trio bands I really like are Triumph and ZZ Top, but they still pale in comparison to the shadow that King's X and Rush cast.

    Did they have a second guitar player for a while in ' Sneak Preview ' ? The clip @ ~ 1:45 shows another guy playing guitar on the very right of the image. I also saw another clip where there was another guitarist for a bit ... Anyone know the answer ?

      ROB HASENWINKLE
      If you go to 2:25, they actually mention Kirk leaving the band (they were still 'The Edge' at that point) and there's good footage of them playing the end of a song where Kirk is actually shredding it up on a Les Paul.
      There may be more details in Part 1 of the documentary...have you watched that as well?
