    The theme music was composed and recorded using only the Arturia MIcroFreak. The drums were programmed using a Korg Triton LE.

    I don’t think I’ve ever commented on one of your videos, but here goes... I fully appreciate the work you put into your videos! Much love!

    I very much appreciate this series. The manual is good as far as it goes but seeing things in context is more helpful.

    As the manual says, the pattern mode will play the lowest note of your arpeggiation about twice as often as the other notes to ground you in a key centre, which works really well.

      WHAT IS THIS “MANUAL” OF WHICH YOU SPEAK?

    • @danpreston564
      @danpreston564 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      AutomaticGainsay it’s a magic book that makes us the people that folks cling to on Facebook groups when they can’t turn their synths on.

      Does the manual talk to you in a deep drawly Doty voice? I think not!

    Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. I’m a newbie to synths and your helping me unlock the fun. Big love and respect from Northern England. Hope you and loved ones are all well and having a good time in this difficult time. 🇺🇸🇬🇧🕉💊💚💛❤️

    I'd never never considered this aspect of the MF. . .it's enough of a synth without that functionality, but I'm glad you're documenting it for posterity. I'm on the cusp of buying another one, because I like it that much. Again, thanks for the detailed analysis.

      Michael Smith The keyboard comes right off if you take one apart. There’s a product called Nano Bod For Microfreak (man that’s a weird phrase to type with or without context) that acts as the bottom you’d need to close up the top part of the unit. Though you would lose the ribbon controls along with the keyboard.

      I just want one with a larger keyboard - 49 or 61 keys would be so awesome.

    Should have tried to set the octave knob to four in order to have wider modulation range and therefore a more pronounced effect from the arp alone

    I guess I’m about to return a Microfreak
    PRESSING THE ARP BUTTON and the unit goes silent , nothing , is there any other way it is not turned on? Or how to fix?

    I just got my MicroFreak, it’s updated to 3.06 and just goes silent when switch to ARP/Seq... Haven’t been able to get it working at all.

      You need to go into settings and set clock source to auto. Alternatively make sure it's connected to a DAW via USB and press Play in DAW.

    I dont get any sound out of my synth if the Arp is turned on. Goes for the presets and if i try to make a new sound. I thought it might be a bug or cluelessness on my end, but oddly enough, a friend of mine is having the same issue. Any tips?

      Capacitive keyboards are real keyboards, and are as old as the modern synthesizer! But I know what you mean!

    Nice informative video, but why did you have to take such a boring sound to demonstrate? ;D

    • @automaticgainsay
      @automaticgainsay  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Because I demonstrate functions and results, not finished products. You don’t want to see what I can do with it, you want to understand how its functions sound so that you can make good decisions about whether it suits your intentions. If you’re looking for entertainment, you’re in the wrong place!
