Ian... so well done! Being prematurely intured has been a fear of mine since I was young, and first heard of such a case. I must say, between CAS' writing and your delivery, my blood pressure rose slightly more than a 'bit'. This is what a good horror yarn should do! Now, I believe I'll go have a walk in the cool night air... going to have to shake this off, if I want to sleep tonight. hehe Bravo!👏
Ian's voice... Genuinely steamy Hot chocolate stuck in with a candy cane after ice skating, coming in when your nose really starts to run and when the sky just begins to pinken behind the trees..
That's equally true of many of these stories, but the mix of stories including the new writing is always excellent and it's good to revisit them again sometimes after a hiatus of as much as 50 years; mostly because they're such great tales.
@@Eris123451 Very true, it must be nearly that long since I read it lol. And I certainly do very much enjoy the Van Melsen stories as well. It's nice to have modern horror stories that aren't just slasher stuff. I'm hoping we'll get some more of Mr Vickers tales as well soon.
As a kid in the 70s , 3 or 4 yrs, my brother (12 yrs older) would watch Vincent Price and similer type movies with me at night. To me, being buried alive is one of the most horrifying things that could happen. Great story, truly gave me chills.
There is a Boris Karloff THRILLER episode called The Premature Burial is very close to this great story. It was based on the story of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe. They did make several films & what you may be thinking of is the 1962 film with Ray Miland.
Hey everyone. Warren has asked me to tell you all he's lost his Christmas Card list. So fear not if you don't hear from him this year. It doesn't mean he's dead!! 😂😂😂
I would have made better preparations other than a simple buzzer. But the entire precept is ludicrous in a time when electricity was available for a buzzer. Any doctor in that time could confirm the person to be alive, especially when everyone knew it happened before.
You know his doctor was most likely paid off by his evil brother right? Whatever he built would be disassembled, he unfortunately realized this unthinkably wicked possibility too late.
You fool...Warren is alive, and he uploaded just now.
😂😂😂😂
@@drewmode227well holy cow, ask him if there's a heaven. Go on..... Just do it
Dead man's switch.
OMG that's it!
😮
You fool Warren's in space!
Well that was certainly a delightfully feel-good and light story!
Truly terrifying! 😲👻☠
Yes! More Clark Ashton Smith. Thank you Ian. HorrorBabble and miniature painting is the best way to spend an evening.
Thanks, Ian. Good morning from Australia!
Good night from the U.K! 😴😴
Good morning! And as Sue has already said, good night!
Good morning! Have a good night!😅
Yes thank you Ian
There's an old Simpsons episode which features a film called "McBain 2: You have the right to remain dead" . It describes this story perfectly.
Ian... so well done!

CAS is a treat,I find his wordiness is something unique and underrated. I would have loved to talk to him.
He'd dead you fool.

Great tale this afternoon!

Uh maybe we need to check on Warren after this one, you know just in case.
Thanks, Ian! 🙂
This is gonna be epic cheers and thankyou so much Ian xo
I enjoyed this ! I read it many years ago, so I knew how it ended, but it was really nice to hear it narrated so well !

Love it. Love the Bee-foo-err.
Oh oh,CAS - Thank you very much HB
Smith’s darkest work by a country mile. This is a rough one.

Thank you ❤
Actually mildly terrifying!
Embalming serves more than one useful purpose…
It reminds me of a movie! I can't remember the title right now.

@paullevine1813 Thank you. This was the title
You fools, Clark Ashton Smith is dead
I'm so happy for Warren ❤😂
I feel like such a fool.
I don’t want to be around for my second interment.
So Ian Gordon is actually warren sitting in the the darkness being forced to tell stories and put them up another name. Now we know the truth.
Now THAT was creepy…
Lol feel a bit like the misery character .click on 28 seconds. 😀
❤you fool Warren is dead 😮
Should read "internment". Interment is not a word.
Bet your a liberal got to find something.
Interment and internment mean two very different things.
Currently hanging out with Warren. He is fine 🤷🏼♂️😂
Waren looking high A/F in that pic above ☝️ 😂😂😂😂😂
Hey everyone. Warren has asked me to tell you all he's lost his Christmas Card list. So fear not if you don't hear from him this year. It doesn't mean he's dead!! 😂😂😂
Tell that to Warren.
I hope Warren is ok.
