Their colors aren't inverted either. It is hard to see what is going on, but it looks like that cat is what does most of the attacking, shooting mistletoes and black/blue balls while the Quadruple Ones just float around in their... um, coffins? Some attacks are coming from the two at the top, but the bottom ones never shoot...

Amber bides its caretaker farewell and joins you as you take her home at last. So, in a sense, Hellsinker really IS a tale about saving a cat. Story of the decade. I'm still unsure about how executors work and why they sometimes go to the Shrine of Farewell. (4/4)
One more thing. There is a cat in the middle of the screen during said true final boss fight. (It can barely be seen on the video). I think it is said in the game several times that the cat is white. But if all the colors are inverted, then is the cat actually black? Weird.
Alright, so I think I get it: Hellsinker is a story about about the journey to the Cardinal Shaft, wherein Garland holds information about the long forgotten past. Prayers are humans who angsted to no end about sacrificing four pure children to power the karma compressor, so they turned it off. The compressor's influence turned them into immortal, inhuman creatures. Now they exist solely to prevent the Hellsinker from ever being reused while praying (hence their name) for a better future (1/4)
@SoshoKittycat Not really. The game has dynamic difficulty which works pretty well. Playing for score, though, IS murder. Huh, I just repeated what Matteste said, didn't I, just using different words. Anyway, you should really give this game a shot if you like shoot 'em ups. It is as delirious as it looks, though the earliest stage are much more tame.

Some of the users quoted in the threads on SA sound downright unsettling. Apparently those troper tales and fetish fuel sections discussed on SA forums are no longer part of the wiki though, so perhaps it's getting better after all.
@module64 Garland isn't that difficult compared to the rest of the game. If you want a hard last boss, look at Glitched Kareidoscope (that's the fan name at least, its' actual name is Floccinaucinihilipilification.)
Hey. I've just realized... During the true final fight, there is something round in the background, spinning really damn fast. What is it? Looks like Garland's logo plate, but it is spinning too fast for me to identify it. I cannot make out any of the writings that the logo plate normally has.
1) Stop using Segment Location to go straight to Seg8, or Minogame who is effectively invulnerable half of the time 2) Watch the vid on YT of a guy getting over 9k spirits by the end of Segment 2 3) Start playing Hellsinker for score 4) Never see Segment 8 again for the rest of your life In my case, the idea of facing Garland once more is a great incentive to keep on trying. Maybe I'm just bad, but even while playing for survival and not using Minogame, I don't usually make it past Seg6. :|

These days I play for score and not for the plot, but those other endings (lvl0, 1, 2, Rex) all have different ending/"credits" sequences that cannot be reached through replaying, right? Your best bet is to record those sequences with something like Fraps, save them, and replay them if need be.
