Hopefully this gave a reason for “why” animal jam keeps making reskins. Although, still miss the addition of - new sapphire animals. And the sunset Siamese cat is ugly man.

Who else has noticed its paws are bugged?! Ugh. Items look weird on the paws and the only ones that work are Moth Armbands, Furry Cuffs, Leaf Cuffs, and other stuff like that which doesn’t go on the paws themselves.Its so gross..
They need to make more dinos, chipmunks, squirrels, fish/sharks, also other prehistoric animals/prehistoric sea animals.
On the dino notes, dromeosaurs (better be feathered) pachycephalosaurids, ankylosaurs, other reptiles would be mosasaurids, plesiosaurs, azdharchids
I would like snails as animals XD

I personally don't mind reskins, as long as they are reskins of animals that aren't in store. The main issue I have with reskins is that they aren't the same price. For example, the Siamese cat was originally 150 sapphires but the reskin is 180 sapphires.

IKR I REALLY DONT LIKE THAT LOL I bought the sunset siamese even though I had the original just to check it out, and when I saw that the paw was twisted and that most leg items looked horrible on it I though I had been scammed.. but then something worse happened lol.. I switched to the original siamese to avoid the twisted leg only to find out that the glitch happened to the original too 😢 now I have two cats with twisted feet qwq, and still all the leg items are disproportionate xd

specially just for the pet to grow and become an animal that is not so far from one we already have, the arabian horse, really is just another tall skinny horse, the difference is that you cant take off nor choose the horn and cant change the colors either
i don't blame anyone for buying this, it's your money, do whatever you want to do with it, none of my business, just saying that i wont ever pay for anything like this and i hope to see animals that if i'm going to pay for at least let me decide how it looks
I wholeheartedly agree with this. There's nothing I hate more than not being able to select my own animal color. It's just a huge waste of money if you get something you don't like. And because you have to buy them with real money, everyone is selling or trading them for more than they are worth.
Yeah no the unicorns being added just feels like a watered down kid friendly NFT...

The reskined cat is based of an aesthetic called vapor wave ngl the idea of animals themed after aesthetics is a cool concept if its made correctly

The thing that is most amusing to me is the fact that they reskinned an animal that’s already In store! You can still buy the original Siamese Cat in the Cat pride bundle for 8 dollars. They could’ve thought of a better reskin, they could’ve made a Snow covered owl animal or a snowy Hedgehog or a snowy Gorrila, the possibilities are endless. Honestly this update is a real disappointment.
I would have loved a Barn owl or snowy owl. Not the horned owl as a reskin, I mean like the animal, the snowy owl. 😭 Or puffins

As much as I like the animals with unique skins and the sunset Siamese cat looks beautiful, I agree they need to slow down on these reskins! They need to bring in dragons soon, 2024 is the year of the dragon!
Also, I still need them to release the ocean lands to PW! Leilani keeps hinting at it, Tavie appeared in the Jamaa Journal one time, and we got a ocean themed den back in 2022! They should literally bring back the oceans in PW, I want to play as a dolphin! (Not to mention, but I keep having this AJ dream about the PW ocean lands every now again for the past year now and I’m starting to go insane from it!)
It's actually summer for Jammers in the southern hemisphere like me! I know animal jam is based in the northern hemisphere, but it would be nice if someday they added something to include the other half of the planet xD even if it's just a page in the Jamaa Journal! a lot of the young Jammers have no idea how seasons work globally!

Im hopefull we'll be getting dragons pretty soon, because not only is it another mystical animal many people want, but it's also the chinese year of the dragon, so it would make total sense to release dragons at this time

Yeah. I’m hoping they’re not P2W but something makes me think otherwise. Like idk how you even get wishing coins other than just buying them. I don’t know AJPW trading at all, so it makes us non-traders very left out cause we can’t afford to buy coins due to us usually having a couple thousand sapphires AT MOST, nor do we have the means to trade for a wishing token. I think it’d be cool if they made it more of a hands-on thing, like Aj PC adventures! It could make it more fun and make the players happier.
Tbh they'd probably make it so you have a short time to get them for free like what they did with the Unicorns

Im a huge sucker for neon stuff, specially vaporwave and cyberpunk themed things, so when I saw the art for the new reskin, i had my hopes up that it would look like the picture, but remembering what they did with the Scottish Fold cat (im sorry, it looks too weird for me) with the artwork vs actual design, and remembering it was the siamese cat with the weirdly shaped head and super skinny proportions they were making the reskin of, I was ready to be disappointed and boyyy was I not wrong
They didnt really do the whole " vaporwave sunset" concept very well with this cat, it may look good with the bundle but thats it, wouldve been way better on a different animal tbh
I still have hope for a huge update,
like the unicorns I would think they would add a dragon! kitsunes? maybe even phoenixes!
I feel like a future update will be huge because aj might be spending more time on a new update than the monthly animals?
And they just bring random stuff to the premium shop that are over priced and people wont buy 🥲

Honestly I'm neutral about them, the re-skins are pretty annoying but I do remember there being a bundle that you needed to buy with actual money that had all of the cats in the game and I really wanted the siamese but didn't want to pay for it yk?
(Also I love you for being so real about AJ, keep it up!!)
P.S I tried being real with aj about the galaxy phantoms when they came out about how crusty and dusty the graphics were and they got all passive aggressive at me 🙄🙄
I personally don't mind reskins, and I love the new Siamese cat- especially since I didnt have one before. However I do agree about adding a lot of reskins. A game like this should add more real animals, and honestly as an old player I remember feeling like adding dinosaurs was a stretch. Taking a break for several years then coming back and seeing dinosaurs was really jarring. But this could just be me not liking some of the dinosaur models? I didn't mind the direwolf or sabercat, possibly because they were more grounded. I have both and played when they were released. I also kind of felt like adding domestic and fantasy animals was a bit of a stretch too, but after coming back to dinosaurs I think my barrier for "this is a stretch" was broken lol. But in any case, I don't mind reskins as long as they don't drown out normal animals, and I think they should have special effects and some changes to the model. The light/dark arctic wolves were fine to me because rhey looked different and they had cool effects. I also like how the new cat is the only reskin where you can change the pattern. I wish they'd add more reskin pattern options.

I literally ran to the sapphire shop after the update, thinking we'd get a cool new animal... and I got so dissapointed T_T I ALREADY HAVE A SIAMEESEEEEE!!!
Also, when coloring the susent siamese cat, it looks VERY similar to the original siamese cat other than the very minimal pattern differences.
With the ad on instagram I thought it was going to be a hairless cat. But am not that mad because I don’t really like cats.

I feel like it’s unlikely AJ will add dragons just bc they added unis but that might just be me. It’s not that I don’t think dragons wouldn’t be cool, it’s just not likely in my opinion. I honestly don’t mind CERTAIN are skins I like the Darkside/ light side Arctic wolves, snowflake red panda and the pumpkin spice flying fox! I have an Arctic wolf but I like the Light and dark versions. I got the Snowflake red panda and pumpkin spice flying Fox because I never got the originals so ya and the sunset Siamese cat isn’t great

I think it will be another ugly animal nobody likes and would be a very hard to customize animal (and if its how unicorns and dinosaurs are with the color restriction thing definitely makes it worse)
They also made sapphire animals more expensive. 180 sapphires is unaffordable. 150 is hard enough to get. I remember when they said they were trying to add all the animals in the world to animal jam. They should add griffins, dragons, enfields, and kitsunes to make up for al the reskins.

If animal jam didn't mind people selling things for real money, having players marketplace would be profitable to everyone. That way, people would buy things for real money, sell them for sapphires and then sell sapphires for real money back gaining more real money. That's how others mmos work- yet ajpw is made for younger audience so their next best bet is to add more things to the premium shop which should be completely fine to everyone
I only like the pattern options for it, but I wish it had some cool effect like autumn coyote.

Honestly they might be releasing reskins and eventually be releasing some newer animals, but I feel like it should only be 1 reskin after every 1-2 actual new animals. We need GIRAFFES!

me currently being in summer time and being surprised the dens and animals fit the seasons for me, actually for once
As someone who owns over 10 unis without a dime being spent by myself, majority of which are actually really pretty, the necessity to pay isnt really there.
Let the people willing to spend money do that and get the Sapphires you can easily save up and buy unis off of them.
Unicorns are dropping in price a LOT, with a big majority being sold for just 200 Sapphires, and I personally have spotted some very pretty unicorns in the Explorer before.
Plus, they can be used as art trade tokens! If you're an artist who cant receive money payment, Wishing coins are actually a pretty valid alternative if you're willing to take them as payment.
I love the look of siamese sunset cats but at the same time am so disappointed there's ANOTHER reskin. I do like the sunset cats, but oh I would have loved a NEW animal so much more!
Honestly didn’t mind the pumpkin spice flying fox, or the snowy red panda, since I never had either animal, but the Siamese cat is…ehh. I bought it anyway for the set to sell it early and get more sapphires. I got more than what I paid so that’s good.
I'm realllly hoping for dragons next month. Next month is Chinese New Year, and this year is Year of the Dragon, so it's a high possibility
I really hope that one day AJ might add a Eastern dragon as I really like those kinds of dragons and it should be easy to make but slapping fur arms and legs to the viper/snake

Ive read somewhere on Twitter i think? It was saying the re-skins was caused because Animal jam coding To make a new model Would talke alot of time and send back updates to a later time. So them will re-using there models Just makes it easier for them, Also i believe it cost Money to make a new one. But them making Afew items only obtainable With Real currency Maybe they are doing that to make Better stuff for the game.

I think that we shouldn't be too hard on AJ--I mean, if you think about it they've already released tons of animals as pets or players, and it's really hard to create something extra as big as underwater creatures. I mean, who knows how hard it is to create an entirely new animal, let alone a new world. If they released different species, jammers might not like it either as shown when they released multiple dog and cat species. ALSO, the sunset siamese isn't the worst reskin, it's nice

Reskins can be good and bad bc let’s say you want a maned wolf and they aren’t in stores and then they make a reskin, so technically you just got your wish animal it can Also be annoying

The only pros to the sunset siamese (for me) is that the textures seem to be better and I like one of their marking options...but thats it lol. This update so far kinda sucks ngl

They literally just released a bundle for tails. A bunch of random TAILS. It's called the Terrific Tails bundle. Nobody is gonna pay $5.00 for five tails, or at least I certainly wouldn't. They're clearly running out of ideas. OMG. I get that they have to make money, but... tails? For $5.00?! REALLY?!?

I dont get why AJHQ has been doing what they've been doing lately. There are so many ideas for new characters, esp since they started adding mythical creatures. I'd wish for a Raptor or Dilophosaurus so badly in this game and yet they give us broken reskins. Which is not understandable to me, because their characters are N O T high quality. The only thing that would really take time for them is adjusting every single item in the game to its body, and if they can't even do that properly thats sheer laziness. Quite disappointing what they've been doing.

Boioioing yeah! This is gonna be long-winded... But- i think the amount of reskins mightve been for the best.... Cuz with the declining profits and recent purchase of wild works theyre animation and modeling teams might be in a bit of a mess... The recent new animations have been kinda janky.. And the new area and stuffz are real detailed- but i honestly adore the patterns and colors of the sunset siamise! The eagle reskins were made super well imo!! And... Im just hoping they redirect the paywalls like wish tokeny stuff to membership- so you can just count on buying one thing, instead of many... Kinda like aj classic.. It would be pretty reasonable to expect.. Yknow? Especially with the new roll-in of a couple of new aj-tubers! If they get new players- the membership would be a pretty easy sell! Im just hoping for new gameplay features tho- somethin big, like new insentives for the minigames, or big stuff like adventures! Cuz without em... The games just gonna fall into a wasteland of paywalls and shopping... I guess..

Reskins aren't that bad!It's a way from getting animals which arent in stores anymore and the markings are cool!But I understand the hate.
I really DOnt love the new animal or the update. I like the dens new furniture. Tbh the only good thing about this update is club geoz returning yet no one seems to mention it anywhere 😅 lol and geoz is always empty it’s like no one can find it’s secret entrance

The mobile version is more alive than classic. Although with that said some people still play classic. It’s not updated at all tho, whereas animal jam mobile gets an update every month. You can play mobile version on computer as well if that’s something you care about.

Ok, i know animal jam has used alot of animals on earth and reskins are easier and a better chance for new players to get their dream animal, but, i am so sick of reskins, i swear! I feel like ajhq has kind of given up on aj, these updates are getting kinda worse and wprse each update. Animal jam needs to kinda try a bit more, and again, i know, its hard to monitor a game, but reskins are getting too common and getting boring, ive recently quit aj as its getting boring and not many updates, its really turning into a "need money to play" game, this is just my opinion though. ✨️

More types of cats or dogs
Mouse/rat
Frogs
Pangolin
Monkeys
