I agree with you, i feel she's the best libero in the world right now and i say that considering legends like De Gennaro and Castillo are still on the scene. Kojima is just too good, the game always becomes exciting when she's on court.
59:51 Man, this hit by Igiede is the bomb. You rarely see the National Team middles put down like that. It looks to me like Igiede and Andi Jackson of Nebraska will be future starters for Team USA. Both are truly beasts at the net. Super-athletic, super-dynamic, super-explosive, with super jumping ability. So exciting!
38:45 Man, this 'self-defense' dig by Jones-Perry. Mruzik absolutely unloaded on it, and Perry managed to deaden the ball, even at point-blank range, total reaction play. Roni is one of those Karch Kiraly or Jordan Larson type players -- exceptionally gifted at the game, has ALL the skills, and then some, and slightly undersized, but with an exceptional jump. Level of play here is really excellent.
I love her, but she is still with problems in reception... i reaaly hope she improves, cuz this is what is making her not being in the USA main national team... Egonu, Bosko... service, would ruin her and we all know that putting service pressure in one person just to take her out of the game can really result!
Thompson should be on the bench, her technique is terrible. I don't get why they're trying to make her happen, she isn't a go-to player, she can't and won't carry the team on decisive points. The sad part is that, i feel Barbolini and the other coaches are "forced" to play with the national team girls to promote the league. Frohling should at least be given the chance to prove she can be a part of the starting 6.
I agree with you… I think she’s super inconsistent. But I don’t think frohling would do better. Maybe sub frohling in when she’s making mistakes to give her room to breathe. Because right now she’s just in for long stretches and sometimes makes 4-5 errors in a row
I know right! i have always noticed that Thompson has lost her speed in attacking! she is so slow in approaching and her swing is so slow too.She also keeps taking balls that aren’t for her to take like she is an opp she should focus on attacking. I miss 2021 Thompson!
I think Micha is failing with her... Thompson needs HIGH ball, she is very tall and her height jump is really good... if you look with attention Micha is putting the balls low and too close to the net and where the block is.... if you see Thompson still hits strongly, that's why the ball on block goes to the floor immediately....
@@jorgettemendes6360 I agree that often the setting for the USA has simply not been consistently sharp, leading to weak offensive swings. But those few low/tight sets that she got, she really should make the extra effort to turn the ball even more sharply to the edge of the block. Great hitters know how to compensate and adjust in all situations.
@@djbenz4019 what i see from her is that in general she really wants to hit that hard, and she try even when the set isn't good but i think that sometimes she just see that the set is so bad that she has to tip... you can see how she vibrates when the set is good and she hits the ball hard... i really think USA setting was terrible during all the last cycle... It only improved when Poulter started again (and you can see that she was one of the best setter in the Olympics). Carlini and Micha are really struggling with precision!! If you see Thompson and Drews are suffering with Micha and Carlini's set... in the Olympics Drews was one of the best scorers (i think 4th or 5th) but she was playing with Poulter (and Poulter wasn't at her totally best )... Micha and Carlini were really good, but now they are just good....
You know, I've watched JT for many years now. She has that ideal prototypical physical frame, and she's definitely improved year after year. But similar to Drews (and now Beason), she seems to hit straight into the block a bit too often. You'd think that with her physical advantages, she'd be able to beat the block more often than she does.
You know, it's so rare to hear even the announcers 'speak ill' of any player (except for Paul Sunderland and Chris Marlow who are never afraid to tell it like it is), but they really went on and on about how ineffective Thompson was, and how many times she hit the ball straight into the block. It actually amazes me that she's often been the starting opposite on Team USA -- it tells you how little talent there's been among American women players for many years. But now, we see just how good the younger talent is when stacked-up next to Thompson, or Drews, and also the USA's veteran left-side hitters. That National Team is in need of a total make-over. I can count on one hand the number of veteran National Team women who should remain on the team going forward.
Kojima is just an insane player! It truly is something special watching her in person.

She’s so fast 👌🔥
Thank you for uploading! Congrats SL! They were so dominant after the 1st set. This Skylar + Jordan combo is LETHAL, definitely a new fan 💛

@@djbenz4019 middle is competitive. Ogbogu and Washington are still fairly young, and now add in O'Neil and Rettke just behind them, tough competition

Skylar Fields = STANDOUT. Total Terminator type of hitter. Team USA needs her. More than half her swings are for kills. So impressive.
1:26:01 Awesome kill by Mrzik. Just listen to the sound of it, how solidly she hits that, and at such a sharp angle (inside the 10ft line!).
Kojima is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 what an amazing player
Jones Perry the next LARSON 😎

Thompson is over.
Kojima is the best player at the LOVB...
Looks like they’re in a college gym

@@djbenz4019new coach, new players. Karch stuck with the old players too long.
Jordan Thompson is so bad omg
Jordan. U are not so much of an Olympian. Skylar Field plays better than you.
