    EPISODE NOTES:
🤫 There's a SECRET FREEZE FRAME hidden in this episode! It reveals the real reason for the long delay between releases... did you find it?? If so, keep it a secret! 😁
🎙 Please excuse the occasional poor audio quality, especially when I had my head turned toward the TV (away from the microphone). It was so bad that I actually re-dubbed a few shots (can you tell which ones?) This will be prevented in future episodes with the installation of additional microphones... jeez, this is an expensive hobby. 😅
Speaking of which, you can support the show by grabbing some cool merch at TeePublic.com/user/Tfor2show! Everything is up to 35% off for the next two weeks!

The amazing part is that 99% of us film watchers have no idea what a shotgun should sound like, so to have those nerds go through all that trouble is awesome. James Cameron is THE man.

The 1887 was actually updated in 1901 with a stronger action and 2 piece lever (this is the design Chinese clones use) for smokeless powder. It was also only offered in 10 gauge to not compete with Winchester’s “new” 12 gauge 1897 pump action. I’ve heard 1901’s are what were actually used for filming. Also the 1887 can hold 7rds, this is done with a technique known as “ghost loading”. 5rds in the tube, 1 on the carrier and 1 in the chamber. Effectively 5+1+1. So the 7rds fired in the mall hallway before needing to reload is correct and not a trick of editing, again a instance of Cameron’s attention to detail.

    • @Tfor2show
      @Tfor2show  ปีที่แล้ว +8

Absolutely! Very nice! You really know your stuff. I touched on a few of these points in the original cut of this episode (particularly the updated 1901 and "ghost loading," or "hot loading," as I've often seen it called), but ended up cutting those scenes as this episode was just getting far too long, haha. I always struggle with what to include in these... There's the part of me that wants to be comprehensive as possible with each topic and not leave anything out, and then there's the part of me that wants to make these a little more easy to digest. Thanks for the terrific comment!

@@Tfor2show your welcome! The 1887 is one of my favorite movie firearms and at least in clone form attainable for the average person lol. The T2 sawn off version has become a pop culture icon showing up in video games like MW2 and other film like Hot Fuzz and the Brendan Frazier Mummy (probably reusing one of the T2 prop guns). The 7rd capacity is really unique for such an antiquated design, most modern pump actions just get there with extension tubes. I’ve heard it stayed a favorite over the 1897 with stagecoach crews for this reason. Thanks for the reply!

I own a shortened to riot gun length 1901 of course it's smokeless 10 gauge. With Parker Bros. all brass 2 7/8 shotshell, I can handload eighteen, 00 buckshot pellets. That folks is twice the payload of a normal 12 gauge with only one trigger pull. Truth.

I had a Winchester rifle toy that the stock broke off to where it was close enough to be like the 1887. I used to jam it between my Huffy bike frame and ride around my driveway. I'd pull out the toy, pretend to shoot the lock and ride my bike through stacked plastic milk crates. I clocked myself in the head many times flip cocking it. Fun simple memories as a kid.

And I agree - this shotgun is absolutely one of the most iconic weapons in movie history - mostly because of the way Arnold handles it so well!

It was this movie that got me to devote my life to the study, modifying, building , research, and history of firearms, age 11 - 12ish. I'm 44, now. The spin cooking got my attention, but the underground cache is what really got me. My father was impressed i could identify all those weapons when they were invented/introduced. If still in use, what operations/missions/wars involved, which side, the works. At 11 - 12ish, pre-widespread internet, when AOL, Earthlink, and Prodigy were little more than glorified Bulletin Board Services or BBS. My father was in his last year in the USAF in any capacity then, his AFSC was Security Police(now called Security Forces) and learned a little on small arms from him. My mother did not approve at first but came around as I got older.

Yeah! Same here! Well, the last one anyway... it's hard to tell if the others are actually bouncing off of him, or just coming up and falling down in front of his face (that's how most of them look to me). But the last one does seem to bounce off his cheek. I actually did bring this up in this episode, but the whole episode was just running way too long, so I decided to cut a few things, and that was one of them. 😕

MAN WHAT an awesome episode! HAHAH, you've done a FANTASTIC job showcasing all sorts of goodies for the Winchester Model 1887 Shotgun! i actually had NO idea that it was still prevalent in SO many movies back then too! like the old westerns, and john wayne n all that, it's really interesting!! and the fact that james cameron wanted the terminator to USE the shotgun, even dating back to those older movies; is just.. EUGHH it's sucha cool detail man, i LOVE that so much hahah,
i also REALLY love all the effort put behind the episodes too, like just going over each of the details of the movie & the scenes n such, i honestly had no idea that with the VHS copy you can see arnold putting the blue shells into the shotgun underneath his bike there, i always thought it was just regularly cut off for some reason LOL, but it's so cool to see more of that!!
the other details about the guns & roses myth was pretty crazy! i actually thought for a long time it WAS the initial coincidence of arnold carrying the shotgun in the rose box there, and it kinda goes in tune with the myth, but seeing it debunked like that was really interesting & hilarious lmao, i was like WOAH i guess not! HAHA, kudos for that!! :D
going over the sound design for the shotgun when james cameron layered it up to make it sound REALLY BOOMING was fantastic aswell, it really sells the visuals of the shotgun when the T-800 fires it in that closed corridor mall area there, i could imagine it actually sounding that loud too HAHAH, like DAMN that'd be crazy to hear!
fantastic episode, EVERYTHING was written & explained to perfection, even a few of the edits had a REALLY good laugh from me aswell! like when you cut to your future self including the detail about arnold still having the shotgun, and then it shows the review happening in the backround lmfaoo that got me really good, you've got some superb editing skills!! :D
Keep it up man!! T2 FOREVERRRRR!!!!!!
P.S i also guessed around... 40 to 50 shots of the shotgun lmao.. i actually haven't watched it in FULL length in awhile, but i went back down to 20 or so but yea LOL

Wow, man! Thank you so much for the terrific comment! Since I don't do the show for money, it's comments like this that really help make it worth all the work that goes into the show. So thank you!
I agree with you about how cool it is that the shotgun has roots in the old West, and how the flip-cock is an old Western movie trick... learning that was what inspired me to do this episode about the 1887! It was too cool not to share.
I'm also glad you enjoyed some of the jokes! That stuff is so tricky sometimes, because I never know if it's something other people will find funny, or if I'm the only one. 😂
Not a bad guess on the shotgun shots! Some of the scenes are so wild and action-packed that it's really hard to keep track!
Thanks again for the terrific comments! If you know any other Terminator fans, feel free to share this with them!

Hey dude, I'm new to the channel, I just subscribed yesterday but can I just say I absolutely LOVE the content you're creating. I'm only 18 years old but I'm a HUGE T1 & T2 fan and I have been since I was 4 years old, I just love the first two Terminator films to death, they're my two most favourite films of all time that I hold very dearly to my heart and nothing will ever come close to replicating their greatness! T2 as a film means sooo much to me and has influenced me tremendously during my life. The pure love, passion and nostalgia I have for T2 is unlike anything else and I'm soooo pleased to finally come across your channel!! it honestly warms my heart to see someone like yourself who is even 10 times more passionate about T2 than I am, I adore your huge memorabilia and merchandise collection that you've got and all the "detailed files" you have about the film and it's production!
Hey btw If I could please make a video request of sorts....in the future do you think you could do an in-depth review of all the home-media releases of T2 from VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-ray, all the way to 4K? And include some more "detailed files" on the various special features and hidden menu easter-egg content on the earlier releases such as the 1993 Pioneer Laserdisc box set, Ultimate Edition DVD, Extreme Edition DVD, and Skynet Edition Blu-ray?? I just find all the bonus content on DVD's and such really fascinating haha. I know it's a big request lol so don't feel pressured to get around to it, it's totally fine if you got other ideas trust me, I just thought it could make an interesting video for your already awesome channel which btw I love the presentation of your videos man, I love the whole vibe you've got going on and you've got a wicked personality and great sense of humour which has made me laugh many time already so it's honestly really refreshing to see. Anyway, I very much appreciate the kind words! And I'm so glad you're enjoying the show. Honestly, that's the only thing that matters to me for this project - I don't care if I never make a nickel from it (and as much as I've spent to produce it, I'm sure I never will, haha) - all I care is that it's fun for me and it makes people happy. So welcome aboard!
In regards to your request - yes, I certainly do plan to make an episode all about the various home media releases and various formats it's been released on! As far as I've seen so far from other collectors online, I may possibly have the most complete collection of T2 on different media formats in the world. So I'm definitely excited to share it some day in an episode! I'll also be doing some individual episodes dedicated to some of the different releases, like an in-depth look at the Ultimate Edition DVD from 2000, which is one of my favorites, because the amount of bonus content is INSANE.
Anyway, thanks again for the very kind feedback - it totally makes my day, and it honestly keeps me inspired to keep making new content for the channel. Glad to have you aboard!! 🤘🤘

Wow, that was EPIC!!! The sheer amount of information...! No wonder this episode took so long to make! You pretty much got a PhD on the topic! That's what I call quality research 💯 There's so much to unpack here I don't think I can cover it all in one single comment, but I'm gonna try.
James Cameron sure as hell knows his firearms, and that expertise is one of the billion things that make the Terminator films as legendary as they are. I'm far from being an expert myself, but I love learning nerdy stuff like this 🤓
I had never really stopped to think about the fact that Arnold spends a large chunk of the film firing a gun from the wild west, but now that I know, I can't get over how awesome that is. Now I can't stop thinking about the bartender losing what was possibly his grandpa's shotgun, and what the whole back story was; how and when it got all those modifications, and all that cool stuff. It kinda deserves a movie if its own, really. Would be awesome if somebody actually did that 🤠
I wasn't aware of the western influences in T2 either... I just never thought about it, really, but it makes so much sense. The whole Rifleman thing is really cute. Now I wonder... is that how Sarah and John Connor got their family name? Or is it just a coincidence? 🤔
Speaking of which, I have to admit I totally bought into the Guns N' Roses thing. You can consider that myth successfully busted... or 'terminated' 😆 It's still one hell of a funny coincidence, though. Now I wonder "She's not my mother, TODD" would sound with the Ramones playing in the background... 🤔
Sticking to the realm of sound, your deconstruction of the shotgun sound effect is absolutely mind-blowing. That's just another one of those things you never really stop to think about until you see them on this channel. It's amusing to think that it was somebody's job to sit down and come up with all that stuff. And, boy, they really nailed it. I had never really stopped to think about it, but that shotgun sound is such a quintessential element of T2. You probably could recognize it on a blind test.
And now it's time to talk about the FLIP-COCK! (flip-cock, flip-cock, flip-cock)™. I can't believe you actually pulled it off! That was just... wow! 👏👏👏 I hope it didn't take as much bleeding as it did for Arnold 😬😆 Those attractive, shape-shifting liquid metal men from the future don't know what's coming to them! 😎
(I hope no Edward Furlong foreheads were harmed in the making of this video 🤕)
I'm definitely choosing to believe that this is how Kurt Cobain died, and no-one can change my mind. The idea is just way too awesome. Considering what I've heard about the barrel of his shotgun being too long for him to pull the trigger with his finger, it might as well have been the case 😅
Anyway, I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something, but I feel like this comment is already long enough. Thank you for this absolute beast of an episode. If you ask me, it was worth the wait. 'Siseckly Buniers to the max' doesn't quite encompass it. Chuck Connors would be proud 😉🤜🤛
PS. I can't believe I *almost* nailed the number of shots fired! 😲 My initial estimation was 25, based on how many times I recalled Uncle Bob reloading. I didn't think of the shot fired by the bartender, though. Damn! 😆

Hey Alissa!! I'm so glad you liked this!
I was in the same boat as you when I first started studying up on this shotgun. The fact that it's an antique old-West shotgun that he's carrying around throughout the movie is so cool, and it really makes you look at things a little differently! Learning that was the first thing that made me say, "Oooh, I want to do a series of Weapon Profile episodes for the show!" I'll be doing others in time as well, like the minigun, the grenade launcher, the .45 longslide with laser sighting (just put the red dot where you want the bullet to go!), but honestly I doubt any of them will be 1/4 as long as this one, haha. This one just has so much more meat on the bone. In fact, I don't know why the hell I chose to start off the Weapon Profiles with this one, considering it'll probably be the biggest and longest, but I guess it just seemed like the most interesting to me, haha.
Regarding a movie about Lloyd's/Uncle Bob's shotgun, that's actually an awesome idea! If nothing else, it would make for a cool mini comic book series! The story of what that old West shotgun went through for 100 years before it ended up in the hands of a cybernetic killing machine from the future.
Regarding the Ramones, I was considering putting a little clip together where I dubbed some of the footage of John and Tim on the dirtbike with "I Wanna Be Sedated" playing in the background, but my first thought was that it was gonna kinda mess with the flow of the show, and my second thought was that I'd probably end up with copyright issues. So maybe I'll throw together a clip just for sharing on Instagram and Twitter and stuff one of these days, just for fun.
Regarding the FLIP-COCK! (flip-cock, flip-cock, flip-cock)™ 😆 (Very nice, I appreciate that you included the echo! 😆) Believe it or not... what you saw here was NOT the first take. 😂 Some day if I ever do a Patreon thing, I'll be putting a lot of deleted scenes, bloopers, and outtakes from the show... and one of them will probably be about a five or ten minute video of all that went into trying to pull that off. You may have noticed that the barrel grazes my upper arm in that slow-mo shot... well, some of the takes were a lot worse than that. Let's just say that my upper arm was VERY sore (and a little bruised) the next day from an awful lot of direct hits. And... the shotgun didn't always function the way it was supposed to, either. 😂 But at least my forehead came out unscathed!
I'm glad you appreciated my Kurt Cobain joke! 😂 If I remember right, I didn't write that one in the script; I came up with it while I was filming. I love Nirvana as much as the next guy, and I was worried that some people might think it was in poor taste, but... I just liked it way too much not to include it (and it's been almost 30 years.)
Nice thinking on 25 shots! Color me impressed. I honestly thought my guess of 21 was way too high! Some of the action in the movie (like the elevator scene) is so intense and hectic that anyone who can count in their head how many times he fired off the shotgun, and get within one or two numbers, is very impressive! And to be honest, I'm glad you forgot about the shot that Lloyd the bartender fired off... that was my goal! 😆
Alissa, your comments alone are honestly such a HUGE part of what makes the work that goes into this show worth it for me! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support and your words of encouragement! Thank you, thank you, thank you! 💙

Robert Patrick suggested that when John and his friend leave his house (She's not my mother Todd!) that Head Like A Hole by Nine Inch Nails (my favourite band) plays on their boombox as they speed off. Robert Patrick made this suggestion because his brother Richard Patrick of the band Filter, was in NIN at this point in time. In behind the scenes footage, during scanning Robert's body to study his movements, you see him wearing a NIN shirt. Also in another interview you see him wearing a NIN badge on his jacket. I think I remember him saying that during training for his runs, he would listen to Pretty Hate Machine.
If only Head Like A Hole was used. NIN, particularly the Pretty Hate Machine and Broken (though this came out in 92) works perfectly with T2. They should have had a NIN sticker in the wall on John's room. He most certainly would've had Pretty Hate Machine in amongst his music.

    • @Tfor2show
      @Tfor2show  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Indeed! I remember thinking it was so cool when I first started noticing the NIN gear Patrick was wearing in the T2 behind-the-scenes stuff... and then when I started getting into Filter and looking at pictures of the band, and thinking, "Richard Patrick?" Man, he kinda looks like Robert Patrick..." and I wondered if there was a connection there, but it wasn't until some point after we got the internet that I got that confirmed for me. What a cool connection!
Yeah man, Head Like A Hole would have made an AWESOME tune for John and Tim to be jamming to! Thankfully, You Could Be Mine was still a badass track in its own right and still doesn't sound "dated" by today's standards. But Head Like A Hole would have been something else, man! Imagine what it would have done for Trent Reznor's career at that time, too.
I've always wanted to re-score Terminator 2 with all Nine Inch Nails music. Maybe some day I'll get around to that.

Additional detailed files that aren't mentioned in the show:
    - The shotgun hold 6 shells, but in some shots the Terminator shoots 7 times without ever having reloaded.
    - When the T-800 confronts the T-1000 for the first time, and shoots... the shells that come out of the shotgun, all hit bounce of his body and face.
The flip-cock action ejects the shell along the direction of the gun, and since the T-800 shoots it right in front, the shells can only go one way. Slow-mo your footage and see them bounce!
    Thanks for the great episode!

    • @Tfor2show
      @Tfor2show  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Thanks, Vic! I'm so glad you enjoyed this episode. And thanks for the terrific comments! It's funny you mention these things, because I did discuss those points when I filmed the episode, but I deleted them for various reasons. 😬
      - There's a trick with the 1887 called "hot loading," where you can have seven shells at the ready by loading 5 in the magazine tube, one on the ramp, and one up the pipe, which could explain how he was able to initially pump seven rounds into the T-1000 without reloading. But this episode was running way too long, and I needed to trim it down, so that was the first thing that made the cut... because I figured I could move it to a future episode of the show I'm considering doing some time called "Counting Shots," where we'll count how many shots are fired from the various weapons in the Terminator films, to see how realistically they're portrayed, and to tally up and see which weapons fired the most / least / etc. Should be a fun one!
      - The shells bouncing off his body and face I wrote in the script for this episode and was going to discuss it, but I ended up changing my mind. Not only because, as I mentioned, the episode was running way too long... but also because, in my opinion, I'm not so sure that they are all bouncing off of him. I know that's what a lot of people think, and they could be correct! But to me, a lot of them look like they just go up and come down right in front of his face, and because of the way the camera is lined up, it might just look like they're bouncing off of him. The last shell looks like it may very well have hit him in the face, but the rest... I'm not so sure. But that's just my opinion! I could be wrong.
Regardless, I'm really glad you enjoyed this episode, man! Thanks again for the great comments!

So the grand total was 26 shots? A standard box of shotshells is 25, so that seems reasonable (in addition to the shells that were already in it).
Maybe there was a box in the pannier of the bike?

Regarding the shotgun - it's been a while since I bought it, but from what I can recall, yeah, it's actually branded as a Terminator 2 1887 airsoft gun. I can't remember if they actually used the Winchester name on the box, but I'm pretty sure they use the Terminator 2 name on The box. Again, it's been awhile since I got it. They were only made and sold in Japan as far as I'm aware. Sorry for the hazy answer; I'm not a big expert on airsoft rifles. I only bought it for this episode of the show, and for having fun another episodes, haha. I also got an airsoft M79 grenade launcher for when we do the episode on that weapon some day. 😄

No matter how many times I watch him, It still blows my mind every time I see Conners spin cock a FULL LENGTH 20 INCH Carbine! I don't know if he ever met John Wayne, but I'd like to think he joked and said at least once: "Hey John . . . mine's longer!"

Sound editing is done later so if it was the hallway that has a gun in roses. And a scene that would change from the script then yes the Guns and Roses reference is a part of an Easter egg

    • @Tfor2show
      @Tfor2show  ปีที่แล้ว

I guess I'm not sure what you mean. What I'm saying is that people always claim that this was an INTENTIONAL reference to Guns N' Roses. My point is that the Terminator was scripted to smuggle his gun in a rose box before they ever even considered using Guns N' Roses for the soundtrack, and even regardless of that, James Cameron absolutely would not write a scene like that just so he could make a clever play on words in reference to the name of a band whose song played in a completely different scene of the movie.
Arnold suggested they get Guns N' Roses, while Robert Patrick thought they should get Nine Inch Nails. And I can guarantee you that Schwarzenegger's reason for suggesting Guns N' Roses wasn't because he thought it would be a clever reference to the mall scene... he wanted them because they were a hot band.
I do agree that it's a fun coincidence. But that's really all it is. It's just a coincidence. And being a complete coincidence means doesn't meet the definition of an Easter egg, because an Easter egg is an INTENTIONAL hidden reference for fans to find and enjoy. And this was absolutely not intentional.

    • @usernamedkjahstill5003
      @usernamedkjahstill5003 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. the script was typed up with a song
      2. The movie was filmed
      3. Voice over, Sound fx and score are added post products.
      4. Guns and Roses replaces original song.
      5. Scene comes before gun in roses reveal
No such thing as coincidences. Especially when James Cameron is so meticulous about sound and music and small details. It's an easter egg an INTENTIONAL one.

    • @Tfor2show
      @Tfor2show  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@61henry I wasn't aware of that aluminum barrel - interesting! I would think a heavier barrel would make it a little easier to get the momentum going and maintain a nice, smooth swing, as opposed to a lighter barrel... But I could be wrong.

  • @Courier-Six
    @Courier-Six 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

*Edit* To clairfy: the 1887 used in this film as an actual prop is a 12 gauge. All those that have gone to auction were 12 gauges. That being said, they were labeled in the script as a a 10 gauge and represent a 1901 since they are seen using smokeless ammo. The reason they could get away with using 1887's only rated for black powder was because they were firing blanks which produces much less pressure than live shells. This might also explain why the shotgun didn't produce enough of a punch for Cameron since the blanks they would have been using may have been extremely light even for blanks.
So, with 25 rounds fired by the T101 and one by the Bartender, that also provides another interesting detail. Ammo today, especially defense or hunting ammo like Slugs or Buckshot are sold in 5 packs. Back when this film was produced, you could get 25 rounds boxes easily. I don't think the Terminator left the 1887 behind because of the weapons cache alone. I think he was also low on ammo for it. The shotgun was likely in 10 gauge, and 10 gauge ammo is hard to find now with the internet, let alone in 1997. If he managed to get a box of 25 shells or had enough cash to pick up 25 shells, he would have burned up his ammo reserve. If the bartender kept the shotgun loaded with six or seven rounds, that means Arnold would only have 5 rounds left with the gun that were loaded in it. Once they got to the weapons cache, Enrique probably kept the shotgun since it is a good holdout gun and could get more ammo for it. James Cameron either by coincidence or pure attention to detail managed to make it so the Terminator pretty much ran out of ammo and had to abandon his shotgun. While he isn't sentimental, I don't think he would have left a useful gun no matter how old behind him unless he reasonably believed he wouldn't be able to find more ammo for it going forward.

Hey, it's been a while. I watched this video when you first uploaded it but I now have the time to write my thoughts about it.
I loved learning more about this gun that was used for T2, especially how far back the revolving gun has been seen in older movies. I only knew of its uses in the movies "Stagecoach" & "True Grit". It makes me wonder how the idea of a revolving gun first popped up to use in a movie. Was it a movie idea or had it been a thing in real life beforehand?
7:01 I didn't know that the gun was originally going to be placed on that part of the motorcycle. Perhaps when they tried to put it in that part of the cycle it could not fit in so they decided to see where else it could and it ended up where it is now in the movie. The edit to show how the gun would have looked like in its original placement was also done well with the way it blends in that shot.
8:22 I wasn't aware that even the idea of concealing the gun in a box of roses was something that came from another movie. Thinking about it now this also makes me question how the Terminator even acquired a box of roses in the first place. Did he just take them from a flower shop just like how he got his clothes and motorcycle?
8:57 This segment explaining the sound design was informative. I knew that the shooting sound effects had to have been done in post production but I didn't know that it was a combination of other sounds. How did you get all the sounds isolated?
13:20 This edit of Arnold wearing a luchador mask looks so funny. The goofy smile and the fact that it’s the mask from the "Nacho Libre" movie makes it even funnier.
18:35 I didn't know about "The Rifleman" or that James Cameron had said that it was the direct inspiration to use the spinning gun for T2. Those clips of the show looked cool. James even mentions The Rifleman at 21:37
23:23 This was a pretty creative way to show an update and still keep it in line with the presentation style of a television show that these videos have.
In summary, another great and informative episode. I learned a lot from watching this. Also love the continuous use of Tourettes Guy voice clips. The influence of older western genre media and using it in a sci-fi film does make for an interesting contrast.
Speaking of influence, have you ever heard of the rumors that James Cameron was allegedly inspired/influenced by the 1988 manga series called “Parasyte” for T2? Here's a part of a video where they mention this:
    th-cam.com/video/FlhfFFn7uw4/w-d-xo.html
This probably stems from the characters of that series having body parts that can turn into bladed weapons just like the T-1000 is able to do.

Wow, what a terrific comment! I'll do my best to respond to all of your terrific points:
      • To my knowledge, Stagecoach was the first time a flipcock was ever shown in a movie.
      • Regarding the shotgun's placement on the motorcycle, my thought is that they probably changed it from the scripted version for two reasons. The first is that it simply looked cooler where he put it in the movie, and pulling it out from that spot or putting it back throughout the early parts of the movie (like in the flood canal) made for a smoother, cool-looking action on Arnold's part... whereas inserting it between the clutch and brake cables across the handlebars would be a bit more awkward, and probably not as quick and smooth. My second thought is that it's simply a bit more concealed where he placed it. Driving through Los Angeles on a sunny day, or driving through the gates of Pescadero Hospital, wouldn't have been as discrete/casual if he had a big ol' shotgun across the handlebars. Also, thanks so much on the compliment on how that edit looked! I'm really glad you appreciated that, because I spent way too much time on it, haha. Probably took a good hour or two to get that looking right, with the movement of the motorcycle and the highway lights moving by and everything.
      • Good question on how he acquired the rose box! I hadn't thought about that... 🤔 Come to think of it, when we see him pull into the mall parking lot, do we see the rose box on him or on the bike?
      • Regarding the sound design of the shotgun, and the isolated sound effects, I actually got that from a bonus feature on one of the DVDs!
      • I'm glad you enjoyed the shot of Arnold in the lucha mask, haha. That was fun to throw in there. I plan to make LOTS more use of that smiling clip in the future! 😆
      • Glad you enjoyed those shots from The Rifleman! That was one of the most time-consuming parts of this episode... downloading all of those old John Wayne movies, AND dozens and dozens of episodes of The Rifleman... and then going through all of those movies and shows to find all of the flip-cocks, and then clipping them all out, and then adding the text at the bottom of the screen with the title / release date / production company / movie poster / etc... I probably spent around 20-30 hours on that alone. There are a lot more flip-cocks from The Rifleman that I didn't show, as well as another John Wayne movie that I originally mentioned, but edited it out to cut down on the runtime on this episode. So one of these days I'm going to release a short compilation video on TH-cam of nothing but flip-cocks from John Wayne, Chuck Connors, Arnold Schwarzenegger... and more!
      • It's such a small thing compared to all this other stuff, but I'm SO glad you enjoyed the Tourette's Guy clips, haha! I've been waiting to hear from you on this one, because you're one of only two people who have recognized his voice when I've used it, so now whenever I'm inserting him into the show, I think of you. 😁
      • Regarding "Parasyte" possibly inspiring Cameron - I actually have heard about this! A few years ago I made a few notes about that in my master "Tfor2 Episode Topics" document for a future episode so I wouldn't forget, but I haven't really dug too deep into it yet, so thank you for the link!
      • Regarding the hidden frame - I'm glad you found it! I think I might occasionally hide these in the show. Seems like a fun little extra, especially for those people who watch episodes more than once. And yes sir, I will DEFINITELY be showing my daughter these films when she's old enough! I'm going to do everything I can to preserve Arnold's "hero twist" in T2 for her so that I can see (and maybe film) her reaction when he says "Get down!" Regarding episode pacing now that I have a kid - I actually plan to cut back significantly on runtime for awhile. My original plan for the show was to NEVER have an episode over ten minutes... but now I've had several that have gotten close to thirty minutes! 😆 So for the time being, I'm going to start focusing on simpler topics that will not require such long episodes. The quality will be the same - I'll quit the show altogether before I'll sacrifice quality. But the episodes will be a bit simpler and shorter, which will make it easier for me to find time to keep doing these while the kid is little... AND it should make it easier for me to release episodes more than once per year, haha.
Thanks for all of that fantastic feedback, man! I love it when people leave good comments like this - it really makes all the work that goes into the show worth it!

@@Tfor2show Since you were so kind as to provide your response in an organized, bullet point fashion I will answer to your responses in a similar manner.
      1) Seeing Stagecoach when it was new must have impressed audiences when they first saw that gun flip.
      2) I did realize that having the gun in front where the clutch and brake cables are wouldn’t be a great idea after I posted my comment. It would literally stick out in public and would draw attention to him which is not something the Terminator would want.
As for the edit, I will always compliment whenever I see an edit of yours that I think deserves it. I appreciate the additional insight you have provided in regards to the edit that you even accounted for the highway lights moving by as well.
      3) I just looked back at a clip of him arriving at the mall parking lot again and he does not have a rose box with him at that moment. Perhaps there was a floral shop within the mall. Maybe the biker had money either within his jacket or pants pockets so the Terminator could buy the flowers because if he stole it then they probably would have reported him to mall security or something like that and it would just draw attention to him in that situation.
I have put too much time into thinking about these scenarios 😆
      4) It's pretty cool that the isolated sound effects were provided as a DVD bonus feature. That’s one of the things as to why I still prefer physical media like DVDs and Blu-Rays since they include all this extra content, like behind the scenes footage, that would be missed out on if the movie was just viewed from streaming services.
      5) That part with Arnold attempting to smile was so funny. I wonder how you will use that part in the future. I feel like Terminator Genisys took that one joke with the awkward smile and just decided to overdo it by making it sort of a running joke in that film.
Terminator 2 managed to blend humor in a way that didn’t feel forced especially since it’s an action oriented film. The way Arnold played off everything seriously and straight faced as a robot made some of his scenes rather humorous.
Some examples of this are when he keeps asking why to John’s responses like he was a kid, when John asks if he has a quarter for the payphone and he just breaks it so lots of quarters come out, and after John orders him not to kill anyone so when they meet a security guard at the front of the mental hospital he shoots their knees and just says “He’ll live”.
      6) I commend the many hours it must have taken you to comb through all that footage just so you can get the instances where they flip the gun. All the information you provided along with the footage like the title, release date, production company, and posters made for a better and more informative presentation. I would look forward to seeing all the other instances of the flip-cock if you ever make that compilation. It just looks so satisfying to see whenever anyone does it.
      7) I’m surprised that there’s not that many people who recognize Tourettes Guy, which is a shame because their videos are so funny. Knowing that I’m only one of two people who recognize his voice from these videos makes me feel kind of proud in a way and also flattered you're thinking of me whenever you add in his voice clips. It is like our own inside joke.
By the way, I went back to rewatch that YTMND you made of Tourettes Guy just for the sake of it and I still think your edits were pretty good.
      8) It’s good to know that you are aware of that alleged “Parasyte” inspiration. I mean James Cameron was even accused by Harlan Ellison of taking some plot points from Ellison’s “Soldier” episode they wrote for the show “The Outer Limits” for the beginning segment of The Terminator which resulted in a whole legal settlement.
James Cameron has also shown he is into anime/manga since he created the TV show “Dark Angel” which was influenced from “Battle Angel Alita”. Cameron had wanted to do a movie on Alita for the longest time since the 2000s and finally a movie on it was released in 2019 where he ultimately ended up being one of the producers on it.
I find it interesting you have a master document for future episode topics. I think that’s a good way to write down which topics you would like to discuss for the channel.
I’m not sure you could make a dedicated video about "Parasyte" though since there really isn’t much to talk about in general. There's just some rumors and I think that’s pretty much it. Perhaps you could also show a side by side comparison of the characters from “Parasyte” with the T-1000. I suppose you can work it into another video as a side note in some way or just make a TH-cam Short on it, I don't really know 🤷‍♂

@@Tfor2show 9) It was fun trying to keep an eye out on the hidden frame. It was like a video game easter egg.
If it’s alright to ask, what age do you think would be appropriate for her to watch this movie? If you don’t want to answer for privacy reasons then I will completely understand. I mean if you're going to preserve the hero twist of Arnold for this movie (which I think is a great idea for you to do) then that must mean you will also show her the first movie where he was the villain? I think the first movie with its violence and even nudity is not something you would be fine with showing her until she is much older. I mean for me my parents were pretty lax at letting me watch content that I shouldn’t have when I was a kid. On that note I still do find it amusing that Terminator 2 was marketed towards kids with action figures and other merchandising. The 90s sure were a different time.
Unfortunately, I don’t remember the exact age I watched the first and second movies. I think I was around the age of 13. Going into them I was already somewhat aware of Arnold being the good guy for T2 from seeing images of the second film online.
Pop culture seems to reference more from Arnold's iteration of the T2 Terminator and his rendition of the line “Come with me if you want to live”. Watching the first movie and hearing that the line was originally said by Kyle Reese was surprising and seeing Arnold as the killer instead was an interesting experience.
I would love to see her reaction to that moment of the hero twist if you ever do film it, along with her reactions to the rest of the movie. I love seeing reaction videos of people watching this movie especially if they don’t know about that hero twist.
As for episode pacing, I say shorter length but more frequent uploads would be just as fine. If you maintain the same high quality production that would be great as well. You know what they say, quality over quantity.
It has taken a lot of time for me to write back as I had much to say. Thanks for responding. I appreciate that you always do so. Happy New Year! I hope you also had a joyous Christmas.

I like your numbering format, so I'm going to follow that for the points I have a response to... makes more sense for keeping things organized and easier to follow.
      4) Agreed 100% about the benefits of physical media! If it's a film you really love, those bonus features are usually worth it. And streaming doesn't yet come close to the truly immersive experience of a good 4K setup with a high-quality physical disc, in my opinion.
      5) Yeah, I definitely plan to make a lot of use of that "smile" scene in the future, haha. And I agree, the way they abused that concept in Genisys was terrible. The way my brother put it: they basically turned the Terminator into the "funny dog sidekick" character.
      6) I'm glad you appreciate the time it took to find and clip out and assemble all those flip-cocks! That honestly was a HUGE part of the time it took for this episode.... even though it only accounted for about sixty seconds of the episode, haha. And yes, I'll definitely be making that compilation one of these days! I just have a few more flip-cocks that I know of from some other films and shows that I need to track down...
      7) THIS IS THE SECOND TIME... I'VE BEEN FUCKED... BY DAIRY QUEEN!
Regarding showing these films to my kid... I definitely plan to show her the original first, and then T2. As far as her age... it'll just depend on when she seems mature enough to handle it, AND old enough to truly grasp it. All I know is that I first saw T2 in second grade, so... I'm guessing maybe somewhere around there? But we'll see as she grows up.
It's cool to hear about your experience with seeing T2 first, and then the original! I always love hearing stuff like that.

As far as why he was shooting 1 handed on the bike. Might be worth noting that yes 1 hand to steer, but also specifically his left hand because the throttle for bikes are on the right. So, in order to move forward you'd need right hand on throttle.

I just want to note the 1887 is a little more finicky on the reloading just because you have to manually push the lifter down which sometimes wants to lift up while you are reloading. you can also do a double shell reload by loading 2 rounds at once which will have one round rest on the lifter and one rest on top of the other. If you orient the gun right it should load the top round making a quick reload. The one he uses in this video looks like an airsoft production which has a slightly different design.
