Ben is seriously the nicest guy in football. Properly great keeper too (especially in his prime)! I’m a Birmingham fan, and I can honestly say best goalkeeper I’ve ever seen at St Andrew’s.

I’m a goalkeeper, and I normally just call over when it’s going over. For me it’s mostly just a mental thing to just confirm that it’s not going in, and that I don’t need to fully extend and dive for it, and can instead just watch it over
Seems like such a genuinely sound guy, mad respect to him

Let me add that when i sad set the bar low and be a winner, i didnt necessarily mean be happy with nothing, even though thats fine too, but rather set the bar low so that you can reach your goal easily, then slowly raise it little by little. Let momentum work for you and watch the snowball grow. Dont start with the bar insanely high, thats asking for a burnout. Work smart, not hard. I promise you will get way further with this approach in basically anything. And you will get small victories all the time which builds confidence. Its paradoxical but its true.

@serry ciok Wise words indeed, but there's a huge assumption that you'll be able to put in the required effort to try to achieve them.
One can argue that if you set your goals to a very high level - you'll have to work incredibly hard to achieve it & your hopes would gradually be raised as you put in the work.
So a failure would sting a lot & would perhaps not warrant the amount of effort you put in, especially if a slightly worse outcome was incredibly easier to achieve.

That was great! I couldn't imagine getting to play with a Perm keeper. Ben Foster was great to agree to it. Of course, now the next logical step would be to make it like an actual match. You are never 1 on 1 with the keeper on a free-kick. Throw in a line of 1.8-2m tall defenders and see how many you score.
