SUBSCRIBED!! This looks like what I am looking for.
Only one serious concern, you should never heat your plastics ABS, etc. in an oven you use for food. The gases given off during heating are very toxic and can be transferred to the food at a later time.

scoring (scratching shallow lines) along the direction you wish to bend the plastic, so that the cuts are inside the curve, helps prior to heat shaping it. with these regions fusing and relenting to the shape, you can better retain your shapings.
Furthermore, to paint easily on the picklebarrel material, scuff it's surface significantly via sandpaper or better, rotary sanding bits.
great work! I'd love to see you work on these pieces.

This video is EXTREMELY helpful and is the only helpful one I've found. Would anybody know where to purchase ABS plastic online by any chance?

We have a specific paint and plastic store here in BC Canada. Might have to look around your local stores to find it. But it would look like this link. buyindustrial.ca/ocart/index.php?_route_=ABS-Sheet-Haircell-Finish&search=abs

I usually make the patters first using thin camping mat I get from the dollar store. I place the foam on the body part (example forearms for bracers) and cut out the shapes. That way it fits the wearer perfectly.

I tried coloring with leather dye on plastic. It works. Might solve ur paint problem. Its scratchproof, so black leather dye could be a good foundation before an acrylic chrome finish.

This video should have more views... Good job. I'm planning to do a samurai armor this next three months. Any advice? Sorry to ask, but by 2,75ºF you actually mean 275, am I right? Sorry, I am not native English speaker

yes 275F is good. you can go lower to 250F but just takes a few minutes longer (depending on your oven)

Would this ABS Plastic armour be able to be worn with a real chainmail shirt? Or would it be better to wear a gambeson with it? Would the chainmail cause the plastic to scratch and break down? Hence the gambeson?

is it possible to make a helmet out of abs?

    • @Rancorous_Redwood

Absolutely not SCA legal or safe. I had a family member get a pretty bad concussion from just boffer weapons. I wouldn't risk it tbh.

    does the ABS create fumes/smells

I know this is a year later but, as far as I know for 3d printing it's recommended a well ventilated area for ABS so my guess would a yes, it produces fumes.

Instead of paint, try using a stain
