I'm looking to move out of HOusTon within next few years - I grew up here and have loved it but it's gotten too crowded and much too hot. I saw a video about Wilson, NC recently and plan to visit within next six months. Any advice regarding places to look at as far as living. I'll probably rent, first, to make sure I like it. Thank you! 🙂
If anyone wants to know what kind of camera I use to film specific details are in the description. Don't forget to like and subscribe so you don't miss my videos.
I'm repairing an old house in Wilson. I like the city pretty well. It's baffling how many boarded up houses there are in the older portion. Wilson is a nice place, located less than an hour's drive from Raleigh, it's breezier and more comfortable most summer days than it is in Raleigh. You can't find an abandoned house in Raleigh these days, and there are almost no houses that are under 250K in Wake County. Yet Wilson is full of empty houses and it's affordable, and it's not super far away. Why aren't more people buying and fixing these places up? Just curious if you have some insight.
I'm not exactly sure but that is a good observation I also observed a lot of abandoned houses in Wilson when I made that video I guess it's just not a popular area.
I wanted to purchase a house in the Greenville area, but the housing market is very competitive there. I've only passed by Wilson, but heard that it's a nice place to live.
My husband and I just purchased our home in Wilson and we are very pleased with the area. Definitely don't pass up Wilson. You'll get more house for the money.
Thank you for the tour. My husband and I will be relocating from Fayetteville. We have a camper in the Lake Royale community and are planning to move to this part of NC.
Not sure exactly how far but it's not far probably more like 45 miles. Wilson seems to be a pretty boring town. I think Akron may have a little more going on. Have no idea what crape myrtles is.
@@4kDRIVETOUR those trees with all the flowers on the top you kept passing by. their bark is even beautiful. I have a few in my yard but they do well hit and miss, sometimes I get full die back tot eh ground, but they bloom every year tho. but in nc they grow to their full height.
My husband and I just recently purchased a home in Wilson and Wilson should never be referred to as an Akron Ohio and this is coming from someone who lived in Ohio. Wilson doesn't have that kind of crime here. Its a nice, laid back, and very pleasant town to live in. Raleigh isn't far. Its about 45 minutes to downtown Raleigh and 30 minutes to Zebulon (Wake county).
I actually came through Wilson last night somebody was having a party at their house unfortunately I couldn't really record like I wanted to because I was on a tractor trailer
My husband and I just purchased our home here and we love the slower pace of things and the fact that its not far from Raleigh.
That's good I always wondered what it was like to live in Wilson thanks for your input because someone else was asking me about living there also.

Rocky Mount is worst.
Hi thank you
for the video. You should make a video of the nice houses in Wilson just a suggestion. I know they are some beautiful homes out there.
🤔 Thanks I really appreciate the suggestion I was just thinking of some video ideas for neighborhood tours. When I get a chance I definitely will.

I'm sure it's a nice quiet place but I've never lived there and hardly ever go there so I can't really say.

That's awesome hope you know more about it than I do though cuz I definitely don't know a lot about it.
Wilson reminds me of Mayberry from the Andy Griffith show. Nice people and easy going city.

@@rosesmith6208 Yes they are beautiful, thanks for your comment
I lived in Wilson NC all my life, but when I traveled to Ohio I told my dad that Ohio looks just like Wilson but a larger version of it 👌

It's definitely not New York City that's for sure
It is boring" but it's peaceful
We find ways to make it fun tho.
I agree I’m from NYC. I rather be living in Wilson then NYC. The people in Wilson are very nice.
