His music has changed so much over the years to where it’s basically a unique individual sharing his creativity and chapters of life through music with complete strangers. His earlier albums like “?,!,what you really mean to me” are more ambitious and hunger driven (2016 era). After hearing good boy I’m 75% sure we are going to see less and less of him releasing music. I think his motives for music creation has changed from then and now. His tracks are over time going from less wavy/emotional vibes , ta straight personal like a documented diary but with the perfectionist craft still being applied. I wish he was more interactive on social media and with his fans. It’s like he’s suppressing his own grown. He doesn’t market, he doesn’t do live shows , he has only sold merch once for cloths and once for a vinyl. He’s so different in his approach with music from any mainstream artist it’s truly intriguing and saddening. In his songs he talks about his relationship and drug use 90% of the time and in one of his snippets he even said “my girl don’t want me to become famous, she says that I’m already changing” it’s like he’s letting us know all his secrets he’s keeping from his girlfriend,family, and friends but through his music. Good boy has some head bopper songs with the traditional switch ups at the end, but his last song , and pull out sink in are so personal it makes you wonder how someone is willing to publicly release those for the public. When I heard the last song of the album “good boy” I felt awkward like I overlistened to a conversation or I read someone’s journal. You can only relate to those lyrics to an extent then it becomes obvious it’s his own experience he’s venting through the music , and no one will truly understand the meaning of the lyricism/sound selection , because it’s only meant for his interpretation. His music isn’t for everybody, but those who listen truly are a special type of audience.
When I listened to the resonance album for the first time, I definitely picked up on that duality of energy and purpose, so I'm glad you said it way better than I could articulate it! Personally, I enjoy the fact that he has both allowed his fans to peer into his personal thoughts while maintaining a complete mysterious presence. It's really interesting and makes his music MUCH more genuine to me. Like he's not making it for "clout" but that he uses it as an escape or as a for of therapy for the problems he talks about in his songs. I wish the absolute best for him though.

I really hope you do a reaction to his older music before jumping into good boy because even as a long time party fan I’ll admit good boy isn’t my favorite work he’s ever released because it’s so personal at times and it is awkward listening to someone’s “diary” but it does of course still sound good on a musical level. He is slowly changing his sound to a more and more personal level which proves he’s viewing music more as his emotional escape.his earlier work was way more of the flex “fuck that bitch ima do drugs and forget about you” and now over the years it’s turning more into the emotional trauma development and realization that he was arrogant and immature with his passion of music. The two perfect songs to listen to back to back would be “filter” then “sing for me” it’s the ultimate duality that you mentioned. His music isn’t getting worse over the years, it’s just becoming extremely different from what we discovered in the beginning and it’s becoming more and more personal to where it’s less relatable and more of that awkwardness I mentioned. Numb is his most mainstream song and he even said it’s the song that came the quickest to him I think he said it took him 30 mins ta produce and record that track. Your last reaction you ever caught the part where he said “15 labels on my shoulder…it’s getting hard not to notice” clearly he has talent and if he wanted to do a mainstream style of music, he’s capable of it. But yet he isn’t. And that’s why I think I listen to his music religiously. He does it for the venting/craftsman rather then “clout/attention” like you said. That’s RARE in today’s age. You are willing to say his beats are super simple, and admit when a song is to repetitive which your correct every time. He produced before becoming “aftertheparty”. His production name was “mcdoozle” or “mcdoozle beats” which you can still find some of his original beats. He can produce complex stuff ex:soundcloud.app.goo.gl/7MRUqTKAZZPsV9UM6 (a beat pack he released that’s FAR from his sound) but that simple sound is what he chose for his style. I like the fact you don’t sugar coat his work on a production side because a lot of us fans view it as just simple magic and don’t understand the production aspect. Like I said it’s like he suppressed his own growth. If he was gonna blow up it would have been in 2016-2018 back when his buzz was at its peak. Now basically just us loyal fans follow up on his music and still listen. A few people get put on here and there but nothing major. I hope your channel blows up to 100k subs off your producer content, and people will see these early videos of yours and discover my all time favorite artist
@@boosk8r Yeah most definitely, it's extremely extremely rare for someone (especially a music artist in this space) to be in it without aspirations of fame! His beats are super simple but it's not necessarily a bad thing, production wise frequency space is a massive thing. A lot of really cool complicated beats are extremely difficult songs for artists to rap or sing over only because there's no more room. In his case he leaves extra room in his beats for the main instrument... His voice. And he kills it every single with his voice! Also... I did have a production video emulating aftertheparty's style lined up🤫
