With it being quiet it'll extend the hours it can work as it doesn't have to worry so much about waking people, thats got to be worth something in itself
Good luck to this company and those guys that have driven the development. Cities are far too noisy and an electric street sweeper can significantly reduce the noise footprint when many residents or visitors are trying to sleep. Now for the city garbage truck.
what's wrong with shooting video with a smartphone? this new camera is awful with plenty camera shake, low dynamic range, very shallow depth of field and somehow the video editor forgot to color grade this footage?
Are you just assuming that doing so would make economic sense? Or have you done some calculations that shows it makes economic sense? If the former, your assumption is most likely wrong. If the latter, please share your calculations.
Since they work at night it would depend on where they are parked during the day. The Edison Motors hybrid semi has a PV on the roof that charges the 12v battery as a backup.
H2 + Fuel Cell for small road vehicles is just not viable. Small I mean anything smaller than a House. This is a whole fuel supply chain and on vehicle storage problem. Thus why H2 is being abandoned for road vehicles.
There is an informative video called "The Truth about Hydrogen - The dirty little secret" on the BestInTesla channel (th-cam.com/video/-8BDRFFL3h4/w-d-xo.html) that explains many significant drawbacks of using hydrogen as a fuel for vehicles.
This are kind of services we need to electrify.
Trash collection, sweping, ...
Great video
BEV's make so much sense for municipal use. No excuses for "range anxiety", quiet, fuel/money saving...Bring them on!
Less maintenance cost too

Our city runs the diesel ones all night. It’s quite common for one to pass by my house at 2am, so I’m looking forward to the full electric ones!
Way to go and I'm very glad to see the American innovation coming back and we need to inspire people like these. Rather than waiting, you lead.
Airport tugs would be another great application for going all electric.
Aptera has been working on that and use its solar windows to augment the charging as these vehicles are literally outside 100% of the time.
LOVE THIS 'Back To The Future' Silent Killers!!!
_That's a Sweeping Statement!_
THANKS SANDY ,DAVID,DALE,JIM AND THE MUNRO TEAM 🤗 GREAT IDEA 💡 FOR CLEANING UP 😊 🔋⚡️⚡️⚡️
@11:32
Sandy: _'These certainly are cleaning up'_
Looking 5 years younger Sandy with that ' Cleaning Up!' look you're sporting!
Totally makes sense to electrify the cleaning system. If range is an issue, series hybrid power like Diesel locomotives use could be a solution.
Are any of these 3 PM-10 compliant? Inquiring municipalities want to know😊
Awesome on this company vision to move into the future and lower barriers.
Thnak you!
Really interesting content!
very cool system - Sandy can we get a review/teardown of the new DONUT in-wheel electric motors? They sound very interesting.
We have reached out to them for a collaboration but they declined our request.
Monroe should check out the bobcat electric skid steer
Yay, the beard is gone! Much better.
This was filmed a couple months ago but yes, he did recently shave his beard.
@@MunroLiveSounds like Santa Munro had to go back to the North Pole, but it's great to see Sandy more often!
Sandy looks better without the beard for sure.
Another 👍 for no beard! 🤣
Lol the beard is still here in this video what are you on about?
if battery is big enough could use as emergency power unit ?
Quite mobile generator in its off duty hours.
Awesome
It; like the electric street sweepers in Hina only giant size!

This wasn’t filmed by the Munro Live crew.
@@MunroLive thanks!
Good we need more EVs I love it. Children’s heath is on the line.

I'm guessing it's not a big seller, with 3 comments in 2 years 😢
Can munro hire a sound guy in 2025 please, the levels are all over the place and it's hard to hear the 3 guys talking.
Some of them weren’t mic’d up unfortunately.
RIP beard.
74 kw to 16 kw! Talk about an efficiency improvement by eliminating the loud hydraulics.
The thrill is gone because the beard is gone. 😢
This was filmed before he grew out the beard.
Ideally you want a sweeper where the wheels are the brooms🤔
Now do trash and recycle trucks!
Scam compagny Nikola Motor bankrupt Q1 2025 😂
But how are they gonna charge it? 😂😂
With a charger! Not hard to figure that one out!
It is going to be a hindrance for use in cities without electricity. They will miss that opportunity and have to focus on cities with power grid.
@@Jakob_DK cities without electricity don't have the luxury of street sweepers...
@@Jakob_DK 2 of the 3 models are hybrids.
When the driver is up for lunch he can always drop by at your place and lend him the charger 😅
They should be covered in solar cells embedded in the paint.

Just wondering, why did they not think about Hydrogen/ Fuel Cell variant of this?
Because hydrogen is dead and a fool's errand?
Because electricity is readily available.

You mean Fool Cell? 😅

Where would the customer get the hydrogen? Electricity, gasoline, and diesel are everywhere. And hydrogen is very expensive.
