    This is the dumbest most impractical advice. Sure maybe the baby will try and put their mouth on a cup or take a spoon- but do they really drink successfully and are you really going to feed a baby 4oz of liquid with a spoon?? Nothing has worked for my baby. This advice cannot be based on real life experience.

    • @kathleenk7170
      @kathleenk7170 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. For sure I'd be worried about a hard plastic cup. There needs to be a sucking action for baby that is satisfied.

      Ake bottle, lay baby back down on with pacifier ffg ier. Ig she cries tey giving the bottle if she refuses lay her back down again with pacifier and try again till she realizes, that as hungry as he gets, shell give in. This may sound mean, but it's not at all.
      No baby ever died from crying, you are the adult and drinking from a cup is ridiculous and the baby is not going to get that suvking stage which in psychology is not a good yhing.

    • @patriciavoncannon1426

      Why are you not pumping? You're giving into her and ( not trying to sound mean at all) but once she realizes your not going to give in, shell take that bottle, I guarantee it. It's a question of who will give in first, you or her.

    Sorry to say, this is bullshit. You can't just give milk in cup or spoon. We had a breastfed baby and we transitioned him to bottle at 5 months. It was hell for 4 weeks as he won't accept. But slowly he came around. The reasons are we did not give up and we kept giving bottle at his feed times.. after a lot of rejections, he understood he can drink for his hunger from bottle

    I`m sorry but this baby is WAY too young to be without Mommy all day long!!!!!!!!!
    What is this MADNESS, seriously, a year at home with the baby is the LEAST mothers spent at home without work in my country. I`m so happy for a working social system that allows mothers to be on paid maternity leave for atleast a year! America seems very backwards in some ways!

      @@joan1715 Aww I`m so sorry, every Mom should be able to stay with the baby for a year at least! My daughter is now 14 month and I started working again part time when she turned 1 (but only 2 days a week).. I miss her everytime I drop her off also, but really I could not immagine giving her away when she was a tiny newborn baby, this breaks my heart! I also don`t know how this is supposed to be working with such a tiny baby, till 6 month my daughter stayed with me 24/7, I was nursing like all the time and I couldn`t put her down or she would cry so I carried her around all day, there was no way to go to work.
      I hope you and your baby are well and I wish you all the best Mama, stay strong! 😘

      In South Africa you get 4 months unpaid maternity leave. So we have to try to survive without any income while at home. So we are forced to start work early to be able to care for our children financially

    I'm an IBCLC and this is terrible advice. See an IBCLC who is specifically trained in how to handle babies who are refusing bottles. You need a full functional exam. Throwing a spoon at things is a bandaid.

    If you have the money to survive don't go back to work. Simple as. Breastfeeding and/or bonding time is more important for both mother and baby.

      What if the mam is in pain? What if the baby feeds every 2 hours so mam can't get any time away? Noone said she wasn't going to continue feeding in the night for some bonding? The mams mental health is more important for the baby than being exclusively breast fed 😴😴

      I am sorry,but I have to disagree. Money isn’t the only thing a job gives you. It shows self worth. It teaches her daughter you can be successful and have a strong family. I am a baby boomer and my mom stayed home with me. However I basically was a single mother who raised an amazing daughter who can and is able to provide for herself. However, she fell in Love and married a guy I consider to be my son. These 2 young people now have a wonderful 5 month old daughter and my daughter works but has a strong bond with her. My son5 in law is a great father who works and is an exceptional care giver. He also has a great bond with his daughter. They parent together very well. Yes there are challenges and I help take care of my beautiful granddaughter. It may be fine for you but today but today women still have the choice to work or not work. And hopefully no one will try and change that ability to choose. And it is fine if you think that way but every situation has its own circumstances.
