apology accepted, Grand Power Stribogs and pistols (specially X-Calibur line) are very successful in Europe IPSC competitions. hint, try 10mm auto Stribog SP10A3 :-)
Henry...I'm going to speak up every time you say ladies don't watch your content. I'm here ☺! And I'm quite enthralled by the lesson on the Stribog roller delayed design. I appreciate good engineering also! That's what got me into the hobby and my collection reflects it. Great content, carry on! 😉
45 is such a good sub round. Its nice to see a proper delayed blow back system in a very good ergonomic improvement without loosing what is very cool and functional about the UMP. I think the Stribog is a heck of an offering for its niche role.
Grand Power is very underrated gun manufacture. I use a lot of Grand Powers, trust them and really enjoy going to the range with them. Thanks for the video.
I got one of the SP45A3s because of the UMP vibes and to use as a suppressor host. I am in the process of building it out with a old Eotech 512, HK 416 irons. Its a pretty slick rig. Lingle industries is now making a enlarged bolt release and ordered it last weekend hopefully it works well. Thanks for the great content!
@@rondobrondo So I have a crappy AAC Evo 45 can so it didn't do to well. But I'm wanting to put a Sico hybrid 46 on it with a Jmac x37 break on it, that should be better. The gun has been good so far.
I've got 9 mm Stribog with a Glock mag-well and short 5'' barrel and I absolutely love it. With an A-Tec SMG suppressor it is awesome gun for just having fun, as well as for self or home defence, should the need arise (heavens forbid). And I intend to get one more in 10 mm (already have 10 mm pistol from Grand Power, so it'll go nicely together). Loved your video, greetings from Prague, Czechia.
Great video Guys! Think it’s time that you tried a Beretta PMX. Fantastic firearm and worth reviewing. Supremely accurate and well made. Greetings from Poland
No offense man, but it looks kinda mid. If it wasn't for the fact that Palmetto State Armory has them for as low as $700 after the Beretta $150 rebate, I would no way spend my money on this when something like the Stribog or an mp5/mp5k clone exists for only $100-$350 more. I'd probably take that over a Scorpion though. Hard to say. Dunno enough about it yet to say if it's better or worse than the Scorp
I was fortunate to have fired a few mags of the UMP 9mm on full auto and it is the most stable full auto I think I've ever fired. Fell in love with it. Might have to pick up the Stribog lol I'll caveat this by saying I have not fired an MP5 full auto, so can't peak to whether it's better or not
As someone who has used MP5s and UMP/USCs for decades now, I really do appreciate this review. I love the MP5; but we all know that it is a dated platform and is challenging to modernise. The UMP is an amazingly versatile platform, but is only slightly less dated - and most importantly is not an MP5. I was highly interested in the Stribog as a platform to bridge the gap, especially in 10mm. 10 mil can be done in both the MP5 and UMP, but the cost is way higher than the usual barriers to entry. Even after this video, I'm still not sold on the Stribog yet. I'm glad it is in the market (especially for the price), but I'm not sure that it checks a distinct enough box for me.
yeah i don't think it can substitute a UMP or MP5 for sure, the Stribog 45 has similarities, but it's not an MP5 or UMP at all. It is, however, mechanically very interesting to me, i love how they solved the roller delayed problem.
I watched the first half of the video in 480p. The artifacting when you are both handling guns at the table makes it look like you are greenscreened in 🤣
7:25 what you're talking about it the difference between muzzle rise and recoil, they are different animals, caused by various factors from point of balance to overall weight.
I really like the Stribog in 45. I don't have one yet, and I like the idea of the delayed roller system. I have fired a LE full auto weapon, and it is a snappy recoil inpulse. I liked the 3 round burst better. I do have an SBR MP-5 clone and love it.
Been watching this content from a country where it is illegal to posess a gun by general population (and it is ok). The factual information and the entertaning elements are very well balanced. But i think the most of the flavour comes from the incredible synergy between Henry and Josh. Few episodes back, Josh was away, and it felt as if 1/2 of the content was missing. The major selling point of the RDB (the same mechnaism that B&T uses just on an different part) is that it drops into an AR upper. Its the same argument of the old Colt 9mm ARs, but an actually good mechanism.

As soon as the roller slipped out and onto the floor I was all like that DiCaprio meme because THAT happens to me Every… Single… Time… that I break down my Stribog! 😮
I have SK-MP5-K, the shortened 9mm SP9A3s. That one has pretty sweet improved trigger (it's the flat one, with short travel). I found it particularly likes or dislikes some cartridges regarding accuracy. With ones it likes it can make 8 MOA at 100m or 6 at 50m. With those it doesn't like it can be like 15 MOA at 50 m. Best I got was with Sterling 124gr JHP 9 rounds in 7 MOA at 100m, with 7 of them in 3.3 MOA. But since those fly much higher than anything else, I consider them special purpose round. For practical purposes, I am using 124gr. Norma FMJ and JHP which at 50m give me same groups as Sterling. 147gr Magtech JHP SUB are also good, but are no longer available where I live. Particularly interesting groups are with 150gr S&B FMJ SUB as they tend to have little horizontal dispersion, but rather high vertical one.
I have a UMP clone and a LWRC SMG-45 and love both. Sadly I think the SMG-45 is being discontinued. I have been thinking about picking up a Stribog in 45 for a while now and think you just sold me on it. I dig the set up
The UMP became the fad gun for special guys in LE. Once patrol rifles for regular street cops became a thing, detectives, narcs, swat needed something different to make themselves different/cooler. The UMP ad HK really leaned into that for marketing even though an M4 is arguably better long gun even for LE.
I just picked up a Banshee 45, suppressed it used the auto tuning kit. I haven't shot it yet(going this weekend). The Stribog costs 200 less... interesting. I have around 11 firearms chambered in 45 ACP. I'm about to have 12.
Well, out of these 2 i would take the Stribog. For the simple reason that it has a more interesting operating mechanism than just plain fighting a spring and still seems a quality item that isn't falling apart after little use.
I would LOVE to run a Stribog, but even with its comparatively low price tag, it is still well outside my meager means. It would make for an excellent backpack/car gun, which is an extremely attractive prospect, and being chambered in .45 ACP would pair it up with my M&P45 M2.0 EDC pistol very nicely.
@9HoleReviews Having shot a UMP conversion I'd be very interested shooting the Stribog. And there's actually a good reason for it: the UMP is very loud with a suppressor cause it's blowback operated. Once you shoot it indoor suppressed you'll hear it ringing on the ejection sided ear. Your other ear will be fine. So yes, the Stribog might be, even I didn't shoot it, really something worth taking into consideration when you want a quiet rifle. (cause its roller delayed). Could you do a little additional video/short an that? Any experience on that?
❤❤So HK brought the UMP (cheaply produced polymer/alloy/steel ,with a simple blow back bolt )to market to replace the MP5 ,,,well HK was really hopeful it would be a hit ,,,it wasnt ,there super cheap to produce yet been HK marked, there way expensive, and still no where near as smooth as the MP5 ,and the Stribog i think should not be used as a comparison or even judged against each other ,i dont believe ,well maybe there is a stribog in 45 ,i was sure it was first in 9mm and now 9mm and 10mm ,the stribog is a really well made ,robust construction, mostly Alloy and steel with very few polymer parts,id say it is one of the better PCC's on the market and a 1/3rd the price of a UMP ,personally id love to own both but if i could only choose one id go the Stribog 10mm ,,and or a MP5 before id even think about a UMP.❤❤
@M2fiftycal can you get those in most states or atleast 40 of them I guess ,?? I will have a look at there Web as I've never checked it out ,,it would be under Grandpower I guess.
I hereby decree that from this day forward 9 holes will only be reviewing firearms at the sub $400 price point. Because I cannot keep spending money on this drip. Please Henry and Josh...for the sake of my family's nutrition. Spend the next month reviewing nothing but hi point carbines, Kel Tech sub 2000s, PSA daggers, PSA "freedom ARs" with Amazon optics....😢
How you all dont have over a million subs, is really disturbing. You all bring such great entertainment and content on firearms. Im gonna throw some vids of yours on Facebook, and other social sites. You all deserve more.
When I see this videos and read the comments, it's so insane how much so many Americans know about rifle shooting. I bet you barely need an Army to defend yourself. Any country that would invade America would be faced by armed citizens that are better Marksmen than most soldiers of other nations.
Im torn between a Vector and a Stribog (9mm). The Stribog is cheaper, can use sub-full-sized glock mags, is smaller, isnt an ergonomic nightmare, can take a binary, and can use other mags such as the scorpion pattern. The vector is, uhh, cool. And its the core of the Dahl SMG from Borderlands 2. The Dahl pattern is a bullpup Vector, which is neat.
I spent a huge amount of $ converting a usc into a ump and absolutely hated it and ended up selling it! It felt like a brick was cycling back and forth compared to a MP5!….that being said I would really like to try a SL-UMP.
Great weapon for the niche it fills. The UMP/USC is too expensive for what it is. The Vector is decent but still too wild for many people. The LWRC SMG45 was supposed to be the king of this market but fell flat on it's face. This thing would be an awesome double stamp gun, SBR it and put a good can on it, the 45 is already subsonic, the mags are uncommon and not super cheap but proven and still available. Would be a great companion gun for the guy that wants to run a bolt rifle for his SHTF kit.
4:55 I could be completely wrong, but the stock on the "SLUMP" looks like it's further below the level of the barrel, could that be what's contributing to the muzzle flip?
Brilliant design converting to bullpup with 14" barrel with pinned compensator would be the ideal next step. No tax stamp low concussion compact carbine in .45 would be incredibly useful.
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz The lovely part is all that would be required. Is extending the upper receiver extrusion, & designing a new bullpup lower receiver.
Everything is cheaper from an agency prospective. You do have me there though I don’t know what the factory price is when it comes to selling to departments. Just referring to civilian and since you can’t actually acquire one as a civilian it’s a moot point. Would love to have an actual one though would be cool to be able to purchase an actual UMP
Awesome video. I have been kicking around the idea of getting a Stribog. I can’t decide between the 45 and 10mm. Can anyone please give me some advice and insight. Thanks.
Have you guys ever gotten to try out an LWRC SMG 45? They catch a lot of hate because of the cost and accuracy issues they had when first released, but the recoil impulse is amazingly soft for a 45acp and they use UMP mags.

London?
Lady or “lady”?
Women in the internet arent real. We all know that.
“I am not at all biased on this” says Henry, while managing to keep a straight face. Classy.
Remember, Henry almost brought the UMP to a match after not competing for 15 years, so definitely not biased
I've always felt like the Stribog was an aluminum UMP. Glad to see I was not alone. Great video, gents!
Its a cheaper ACP
A birchwood Casey aluminum black pen quickly remedies the obnoxious billboard logos. Love seeing the Stribog getting some love.

SLOVAKIA MENTIONED (Also, the possesive is Slovak, not Slovakian. That should make it slightly easier to distinguish ;) )
2:29 Awesome, now I have a sound byte of Henry saying “no cap”
as a owner of several Grand powers weapons i am happy to finally see more ppl talk about them :)
expected Henry to pronounce Stribog correctly. wasn't disappointed.
Grand Power is very underrated gun manufacture. I use a lot of Grand Powers, trust them and really enjoy going to the range with them. Thanks for the video.
The company name, and the billboards on the side of the guns scream "Turkish crap" even though it is definitely not.
SK is Slovakia, SL is slovenia, so it is SKUMP :)
I would say SL stands for Slovenska Lupca where GP is based and Stribog is made
@@tomasstankovic6998 This makes sense, but from the international sight of view is SL simply more common as Slovenia :D

Time for the CMMG fans to roll in to trumpet "radial delayed blowback is best!"
It felt okay when I tried it but idk how it compares.
The major selling point of the RDB (the same mechnaism that B&T uses just on an different part) is that it drops into an AR upper. Its the same argument of the old Colt 9mm ARs, but an actually good mechanism.

I just picked up a Banshee 45, suppressed it used the auto tuning kit. I haven't shot it yet(going this weekend). The Stribog costs 200 less... interesting. I have around 11 firearms chambered in 45 ACP. I'm about to have 12.

@9HoleReviews
Having shot a UMP conversion I'd be very interested shooting the Stribog. And there's actually a good reason for it:
the UMP is very loud with a suppressor cause it's blowback operated. Once you shoot it indoor suppressed you'll hear it ringing on the ejection sided ear. Your other ear will be fine.

Of course there's more than just the Stribog in 9mm and 10mm. Just go to their website. The Stribog SP45 is in .45 ACP, and the SP380 is in .380 ACP.

I see less polymer as a good thing. That makes the choice between these two platforms easy enough. I'm alright with the added weight.
Nice breakdown but I was hoping you would try it out suppressed.
I couldn’t handle the recoil impulse of FA, so I decided to hit the gym to get stronger.🤭😉
I have a method for hiding the atrocious laser engraving on the side and it only involves a few simple steps.

I have a SP9A3, with an A3T scorpion lower. Wonderful gun. I am tempted, but im also waiting to see if they release a Glock mag lower.
4:55 I could be completely wrong, but the stock on the "SLUMP" looks like it's further below the level of the barrel, could that be what's contributing to the muzzle flip?
Anybody with doubts about the quality, reliability, legitimacy, of Grand Power isn't a serious firearms enjoyer IMO.
Stribog looks like a good host for a space marine bolter build
Now you gotta get The Lwrc SMG 45, it also takes UMP mags, and is probably closer to the same price as the UMP.
does it actually shoot better than 6in at 25m now?
@9HoleReviews Yes ...SMH! 🙄
How does it do suppressed? Does the roller delay system help reduce port pop compared to the UMP?
Brilliant design converting to bullpup with 14" barrel with pinned compensator would be the ideal next step. No tax stamp low concussion compact carbine in .45 would be incredibly useful.
Dont forget the 26" OAL minimum.
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz 16" barrel/comp + 4" BCG+ 4" bolt stroke+ 2.25 buttpad assembly with buffer. Adds up nicely to 26.25".
Would love to have an actual one though would be cool to be able to purchase an actual UMP
good thing you didn't say it's PLUMP (PoLenar UMP)
Where did you get the UMP sights from?? Thought they are one-piece with the UMPs
