I was lucky enough to visit Changi airport on my way to Dhaka, Bangladesh and the airport is amazing. It's undoubtedly the best airport in the world.
I highly recommend everyone who loves airports and anything aviation related to go to Changi airport at one point.
i'm a singaporean and i would say this airport is top tier but it isn't really the best. hamad international airport is slighty better imo (qatar).

At @5:00 the extremely deafening engine noise that drowned out all other sounds was actually coming from a fighter jet (not seen in the video of course) and not to be mistaken as the engine noise coming from another commercial airplane. Also, this is actually a fairly common occurrence especially in a small country like Singapore as we have limited air space to conduct trainings, patrols etc. I believe most Singaporeans will attest that they have probably heard this fight jet engines over thousands of times throughout their lifetime.
The A380 has a much louder engine noise during its reverse thrust actions. It’s deafening like you said so I’m pretty sure it was just the A380. Also using Singapore’s main airport as a training area sounds very unsafe to the surrounding arrival and departure aircrafts.
Yeah it’s quite common to hear fighter jets but I don’t think they do the trainings near Changi Airport they usually fly Low around the Paya Lebar military airport
@@LeeAviationWe have 7 airports in singapore, 1 is no longer in service, 2 are used mainly for helis, 2 for commercial, and 2 for military. The closest one to WSSS is WSAP, being a military air base

For interested individuals:
Changing airport has viewing galleries in every of the 4 (soon to be 5) terminals. They are located at the very top, and they are free to enter. The one in terminal 3 overlooks runway 02L, the one in terminal 3 and 4 overlooks runway 02C. The one in the upcoming terminal 5 is located between runway 02C and 02R.
Terminal 1’s is useless

When the planes are coming in from the left of the screen, one can see planes partially hidden amongst the trees.
From 1981, when Changi started operations till the 90s, that hangar/maintenance area was actually a flattened hill. It had a 180° view of the airport. And a birds eye view of this runway.

There are free viewing galleries in every terminal, the best one being the one at terminal 3, as it overlooks mainly RW02L, the main landing runway. But if you want to spot take-offs too, use the one at terminals 2 or 4, overlooking RW02C.

For spotters, there’s viewing galleries in every terminal, the one in terminal 3 overlooking 02L, and (I’m pretty sure) terminals 2 and 4 overlooking 02C. The one shown in the video are them switching between 3 and 2 (probably)
