I thought the same thing but I thought that's aging. But she breaks out the cigarettes and is drinking like a pro. Honestly I thought she was my dads age. He would have been 81 this year. But I checked and she is her low 60's in this documentary. Ya, a hard life, alcohol and those cigarettes took years off her life. How sad. But she still holds a tune and not bad, just very raspy and deep. Her lifestyle definitely took a toll on her voice.
That chemical peel that caught her face on fire and smoke from it went to her lungs. I just wished she aged gracefully. People need to stop putting these stars on pedestal. They are not God. They are human beings just like us.
God Bless Brandi Carlile for bringing Tanya in to the spotlight and helping her receive the long-overdue recognition she has deserved for so long.
