    Best unboxing video I have ever seen. I appreciate the detail and laying all of the components out. I also appreciate that you spoke clear language and didn't try to impress anyone by throwing a bunch of f-bombs in there as I have seen may TH-camrs do. As for Bose, I have owned some type of Bose product continuously since 1987 when as a young guy I bought a pair of 901's. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is that I have never been unhappy with any of their products. Are getting ready to move into a home where we will have a bonus room and have been looking at the 650 for awhile. I have never done an install with all of the wires behind the walls. I am actually thinking about putting all of the speakers (minus the center obviously) on the ceiling and have been concerned about how to hide the rear channel receivers. Your video helped me develop a plan and I appreciate that. Looking forward to your installation video. Thanks!

      @YourMobileTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kudos J Win. One of my goals is to speak clearly and to speak in easy to understand terms. Not everyone knows all the acronyms in the tech industry. As far as trying to impress someone, I don't see how using profanity could be considered impressive. I don't use f-bombs in my daily dialogue so I won't be using them in any of my videos. Thanks for noticing. With regards to the rear channels, they do make ceiling mount brackets in black, part # 764731-0010 and white, part # 764731-0020. Hiding the wires with ceiling mounts would most likely involve fishing the speaker wires through joists, across the ceiling, make a 90 degree angle and go down the wall, then make an opening where the speaker wire would exit the wall cavity and plug the receivers in at that point. The receivers could be hidden behind furniture, plants, etc. (just an idea) Depending on how your residence is set up, you could go ALL wireless, which is what I did. I'm glad my video helped you to develop a plan and if there is anything I can do to help in the future, feel free to reach out. I will be putting up an installation video here shortly. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

      The additional sub makes a huge difference especially with hardwood floors. I can feel the bass in my upstairs bathroom with both acoustimass modules on. The model I purchased was the Bose Bass Module 700. It's actually on sale at best buy for $599.

    Hi, I was gifted the lifestyle 600 system but I’m missing the headset & 2 rear wireless receivers with the red and black wiring. Do you know where I can get this? Can I use the wiring that comes with the 650?

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      The headset is available at Bose.com but I didn't see the rear receivers nor the wiring on Bose.com. I did, however, find the headset, wireless receivers and the wiring on ebay. And, yes, the wiring that comes with the 650 is compatible.

    Thank you for your answer, just one more thing. Can I connect one buffer with wi-fi and the other with a hardwired or both have to be connected with hardwired? And where exactly they connect it 3.5 mm wired in the console- troubleshooting in, coaxial in, analog in? Thanks. You're the man!

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as I know, you have to pick either WiFi or wired. To connect two subwoofers using the wired method, you need a 3.5mm splitter that connects to the port labelled "Acoustimass" on the console then connect each subwoofer to the splitter and you're good to go.

    Are the omnijewel speakers truly wireless? Do they need a power supply or connection to the main box?

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The two front speakers and the center channel are wired, the two rear speakere and the subwoofer can be installed wirelessly or hard wired. If you're connecting the 2 rear speakers wirelessly there are two transmitters that are included that you must use. The speakers themselves have no wireless capability.

    Is the rear speakers works by wire and wireless if so how we can connect it via wire ؟؟

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My rear speakers are hard wired. I used bare wire feom my rear speakers to my in wall RCA. Then, using an RCA coupler, I ran RCA to bare wire. Lastly, I connected the included bare wire from the RCA to the back of the Bose 650 labeled "Rear Speakers". There is also an in wall wiring kit you can purchase, part number 766582-0010. If you need any help, be sure to reach out to me. Hope this helps.

    Between bose lifestyle 650 and v35 what is the difference.. When it comes to playing of music, the bass, I know the 650 comes with latest technology but I just want to know about the sound difference

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The v35 has an 8 inch sub and the 650 has an 11 inch sub. The older subs used engineered technology to reproduce bass. The new subs are an actual sub mounted in a box.

    • @ronedwards8239

      In glad you enjoyed the video. I was having an issue with the wireless system connecting two subwoofers. The secondary sub would drop out periodically. So what I did was purchase a 3.5 mm splitter and hardwired both subs to the 3.5mm audio output from the Bose 650 console. I hope this answers your question.

  • @MusicAnirban
    @MusicAnirban 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The earlier bose products had atleast some weightage but these new ones look really flimsy. The earlier lifestyle 48 series jewel cubes looked really nice.

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      anirban747 Well the jewel speakers for the 48 were 500 grams, the 650 omnijewels are 350 grams. The acoustamass module for the 48 was 11.9 kg, for the lifestyle 650 it's 13.6 kg. So you have 150 grams lighter on the front and rear speakers but 1700.gram increase on the bass module. Also, all of the Bose speakers have actual tinted glass tops. I don't think you can get a better sound considering the size of the speakers and the sleek look from wall mounting them with NO wires visible. Just my opinion.

    • @MusicAnirban
      @MusicAnirban 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your Mobile Tech Agreed! Bose is definitely leading the industry when it comes to small size big sound speaker segment. I somehow still find hard to justfiy this $4k price tag. Thats a lot of money, and outside USA, it becomes even more due to import duties etc.

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      anirban747 I thought it was a bit pricey, too, considering there's no DVD player or FM/AM tuner. And it's $4.4k when you factor in tax in California which is nearly 10%.

  • @kuriakos36

    Hey man this system is too expensive do you think i can get better than.this with 1500euro and also hows the quality it looks like cinema?

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it comes to a high-end surround sound system, 1500 euros (1800US) is a modest budget. For example, the Marantz NR1510 4k HDR receiver is $599US alone. That would leave you with 1200 for 6 speakers assuming your goal is a 5.1 surround system. 1200/6=200US budget for each speaker. You could go with a 3.1 system and forgo the surround sound, that would increase your budget to 300US per speaker. In the end, it depends on what type of sound you are trying to achieve and that you are happy with it. If, for example, you are accustomed to an LG soundbar and you spent 1500Euros, I'm positive your new system would sound better. Can you piece together a better system than the Bose 650 for $1800? Yes, if you don't mind having large speakers and visible wires. I, personally, went with Bose because the sound is decent and all of my speakers (except for the subs) are mounted on the wall with no wires showing. So it all depends.

    Hi a have a old v25 can i put the new speakers and keep only the consel

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Bose V25 utilizes RCA connectors that connect to the bottom of the acoustics module. Then there is a proprietary cable that connects to the console from the acoustimass. That connector is different than the connectors available on the Bose 650 so I dont think you would be able to use your console with new speakers. The best you can do is connect your front speakers and your rear surround speakers using RCA connections but you would lose your center channel and your acoustimass module.

    I'm purchasing the LG oled 65 c7... would you recommend this setup for sound using this tv. Does the Bose console support the 4K hdr and Dolby vision pass through?

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Bryant. With regards to recommending this setup for sound using the LG TV you mentioned it really depends on a few things. Do you want these speakers mounted and hide the wires or are you ok with bookshelf or floor standing speakers? If you're not concerned with mounting the speakers and tucking the wires in the wall and you're a true audiophile, I would say this isn't the system for you. For $4400 you can piece together a nice, possibly better sounding, system that the Bose 650. For me, I wanted the clean look of just my TV on the wall, speakers on the wall, no wires in sight and good sound for movies and Call of Duty. lol You asked about the HDMI pass through capabilities of the Bose 650. The LG OLED 65" C7 model supports 4K HDR and Dolby Vision. As of today, the Bose Lifestyle 650 supports HDMI pass through for 4K HDR but not Dolby Vision, at this time. Hope this helps. If not, let me know your concerns and I'll look into it for you.

    • @bryantpiper7220
      @bryantpiper7220 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok thanks. With that info I'll opt for the denon A/V receiver that has all the capabilities. In lookin at Elac speakers to pair with. Any suggestions or other speakers you'd recommend that need to be looked at it and considered?

      Bryant Piper Are you interested in a 5.1, 5.2, or 7.1 system? Do you watcha lot of movies? Do you use the system to listen to music and, if so, what genre of music do you normally listen to?

    • @bryantpiper7220
      @bryantpiper7220 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be 70% movies 30 music so def more suited to movies. I don't listen to music that much in my living room. The ideal set up would be a 7.2.4. But would pry start off 7.1.2.

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gary. One thing I have always said is for $4k, you could piece together a louder and somewhat better sounding experience. What makes the price point work for me is no other surround sound system has the features and sound quality of the Bose 650 considering the size factor of the speakers. I didn't want bookshelf or tower speakers along with a giant receiver from multiple manufacturers, etc. Not only that I have received superb customer service from Bose. So with all that considered, the Bose 650 for 4k was worth it. I even spent an extra $700 for the additional sub. Ultimately, it boils down to budget, form factor, and expectations as well. If you have any more questions, feel free to comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

      Honestly, I'm the WRONG person to ask as I like as much bass as possible. When I watch movies or play games I want the room to shake. I'm actually contemplating adding a third subwoofer. Having enough bass is purely subjective. Some are ok with factory speakers in a car, I have 2 12" subs pushed by a JL Audio 100 watt Amp. You could always buy the second sub and if it's too much, return it. Hope this helps.

      I bought my Bose 650 when it was first released. It was $4k, with tax here in Los Angeles, that raised the price to $4400. It has been out for a while now and like most things, the price has come down some. However, as I write this on Dec. 1st 2020, Amazon has it for $4k new and $2700 used.

  • @gabe6959
    @gabe6959 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like Bose. but I would rather put together a system for way less than 4k. I understand that this is for a specific audience. and trust me I own bose earbuds, Soundlink color, and 3-2-1 GS II. But all of which I purchased for under 400 dollars.
    Onkyo TX-NR676: $299.99
    Harman Kardon HKTS 16- $200 (depending on where you buy it)
    Monoprice Caliber In-Ceiling Speakers: $79.99 a pair
    lets say you have all of the speakers and wiring installed by a professional if you're not a DIY kinda person: on average, $300
    You'd be spending around $880
    and saving over 3 grand!
    you can save that money on future upgrades or upgrading your television.
    The receiver supports HDMI 2.2 H.265 with HDR10 & Dolby Vision support as well as Dolby Atmos and DTS X audio decoding. it's a very simple, 5.2.2 home theater setup. Most people wouldn't know that, but again most people wouldn't have 4 grand for a home theater system and rather do their research.
    so you got 3 options if you want to save space, go with the configuration I just put up above, buy a previously owned Bose Lifestyle system, or spend 4k on Bose Lifestyle 650. that only gives you a 5.1 or 5.2 configuration. not saying that it isn't an impressive system, because it is very very impressive. but for 4k, unless you've gotta have it, go for it or do research and put together a better system.

    • @osyhenckels4619
      @osyhenckels4619 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, after reading your comment, I decided to do a little research on the components you listed. The Onkyo isn't a bad receiver for budget conscious shoppers. It offers a lot of features but is certainly not made with high end components to say the least. For example, this received DEGRADES video as it passes through, so if you had saved over 3K for an upgraded TV, you only cheated yourself because you'll never see what you paid for by using this receiver. We all know Harmon Kardon, over the years, has almost disappeared from the audiophile vernacular. The HKTS-16 is just OK even for a budget conscious shopper. My Bose subwoofer (30 lbs) weighs almost as much as the entire HK system (40 lbs) which means the HK is all plastic. Even the speaker mounts are plastic. The bass response is not bad...for the price. So for $1000 you could piece together a surround sound system that would ultimately sound similar to a really good computer speaker system but you can't compare a $4K system (which is a bit overpriced due to the Bose name) to a $1K system pieced together from multiple manufacturers. Besides the name, you must take into consideration the quality of the speakers, the sound, and the customer service. I didn't realize I need an in-wall wiring adapter (which costs about $70). I called Bose and when I tried to order it, they sent it to me complimentary. A Mercedes is not just a Mercedes because of it's price and the symbol on the hood. In this life, sometimes things are a little overpriced, but you still get what you pay for. I don't like dealing with bare-wire connections or having someone come out to tune my system, Bose speakers all have connectors and come with a headset that measures a room and tunes the system in a matter of minutes. My system is updatable through OTA updates. For instance, the Bose 650 was a 5.1 system, one day we had an update, the system was instantly a 5.2. So, for me, it's well worth the price. Ultimately, it boils down to...to each his/her own! Wouldn't you agree?

      Ist very intersting because the harman kardon hkts 16 was my first 5.1 system, later i Upgrade to the bigger hkts 60. It was a slight difference. Than i buy the bose v25 and compare that to my hkts 60 and this was an huge differnece. I was realy suprise how much better the V25 is. This year i upgrade to the bose 600 because i want 4k. The bose 600 is slighty better than the old v25 with stronger Bass and crispier speakers. The hkts 60 (now 65) is good and you can buy it for 1000-1500 (all new not in ebay) the Lifestyle 600 cost 2500€-3000€ and i say Go for it, because its smaller and is also a lot better sounding system. Maybe the best satelite system. The 650 is too expensive. Yes it have more surround feeling but it sound thin. I compare them in the bose Store before i buy the 600. In movie the soundstage is Impressiv but music on the 650 is a lot thinner than in the 600. You also don t have direct sound, when you compared them you think that you listen to the 650 in a hall.

      There are a lot of viable options on the market. I wanted good sound but didn't want an allotment of floor speakers all over my living room so I went with Bose. Klipsch makes a good system but.other than you would probably have to piece your system together using separate components from multiple manufacturers. I would start with your budget, then find a receiver that performs the way you want it to. You can always upgrade your speakers if need be but the receiver is the heart and soul of your system.

      mixed SS1000 pc speakers to me are small plastic boxes with a cheap driver inside and a subwoofer to compensate for the lack of bass, these Bose speakers are plastic boxeses with cheap drivers inside. The only thing Bose does different is boost some frequencies that these speakers fall short at so the average person thinks it sounds good. I don't say they sound terrible but at 4000$ you can buy so much more. I would give 500$ Max for this.

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm not defending Bose as they don't sponsor me. Everything I unbox on this channel are things I purchased myself and use. With that being said, you responded by saying "pc speakers" so I'm not sure if you meant "piece of crap", or "personal computing". Either way, the Bose 650 speakers are not made out of plastic, they are made out of metal with glass tops. I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say Bose boosts frequencies Which frequencies and how are they achieving this "boost"? I can guarantee you, these speakers are not boosted on any frequency by any means. They actually sound great. I had friends over and was watching The Last Jedi, they were looking at my walls trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. For me, and for a lot of people, we know for $4000 you can piece together an arguably better sounding system. However, it would take up a good portion of your living room. Receiver, bookshelf speakers, sub-woofers, tower speakers, and an amp. Then you'd have to hide all these wires. I prefer a very stealth and clean look to go along with pretty impressive sound versus a system that may sound a little better but is bulky and unsightly. Bose is the best when it comes to wall mounted, surround sound systems, that are stylish and still sound impressive. I have a challenge for you. You said the MOST you would pay for a system like this is $500. I would like for you to provide me with a list of components you would purchase with a budget of $500 that would sound better than the Bose 650. Maybe you can, maybe you can't. It's going to be interested to see what you come up with.

    For the money spent on that system you can mix and match “real” receivers and speakers to give yourself a really nice home theater experience. I’ve listened to it and no way is this worth 3-4K. Go buy a Yamaha or a Denon receiver with some 5 1/2” woofer bookshelf speakers and a “real” sub. There are some great direct speaker sites out there that will make you much happier in your purchase than this. Htd are great direct speakers and if you want something with a little bit more style then go with the SVS speaker. (Google those)
    Don’t throw your money away on this cheap plastic crap.

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      crutcher1572 I always appreciate comments on my videos. You mention yamaha and denon receivers along with SVS speakers. It's quite possible to piece together a system that may be louder and with higher fidelity than the Bose 650, however I didnt want giant receivers, 6' tower speakers and bulky bookshelf speakers through my living room. I wanted a nice clean look with an installation where I could completely conceal all the wires. I watch a lot of movies and all my friends have been impressed with my system. Some even asks where is all that sound coming from? You stated things like a "real" receiver and subwoofer when the Bose 650 does come with a good main console and the subwoofers have ported 10" subwoofers. You're probably thinking of the older acoustamass speakers that "simulated" bass. My 2 10" subs shake my upstairs bedroom when the system is on 50.ive never tried 100. No need to. You also mention that the Bose 650 is plastic. The 5 speakers are all metal. The sub enclosure isn't plastic isn't plastic either, its wood. Even the Bose V20 system I had wasn't made of plastic and ALL the speakers have tinted tempered glass tops which look classy and elegant so I don't know where you got that information from. In summation, I agree...you can probably piece together a better system but sometimes you sacrifice a small difference in sound quality for the clean, professional look of a system you can barely tell is there...until you turn it. Thanks for your input, it is always welcomed.

      Bose has NEVER claimed to be an all in one solution for a full home theatre experience. What Boes DOES claim is that you can achieve great surround sound with speakers that do not have large footprints from one company versus piecing together a home theatre solution from multiple companies. Not only the speakers but the the technology included with Bose. As an example, everytime you move your furniture around you need to recalibrate your system. Bose includes a headset that handles that for you. Bose is smart home compatible. The remote is an option not necessary. Sure you can spend $4400 and piece together a Klipsch, Marantz, or other system but you will have huge speakers and wires everywhere. I, for one, wanted my speakers floating on my wall with no speakers in sight. It's a trade off. To each his own, in the end. I'm sure you agree.

      @@2081calin I think we are agreeing but not using the same wording. It is well known you can piece together a better sounding system for the same money a Bose 650 costs. What I was trying to say was you either get a system like you mentioned with different components, etc. and get the sound you want with the understanding that you will have wires and large speakers in plain view. Or you give up a little bit on the sound end for speakers that are unnoticeable and with hidden wires all controlled by a single remote by the same manufacturer that has many other features that, for some, compensate for not having the best sound. I'm not an audiophile so I prefer the great sound of Bose with all the high tech features it comes with. Then again, I watch action movies and play call of duty so I love the surround sound I get. My friends come over, too. And they are always ask, "where is that sound even coming from" or "someone is at your door", when the knocking was actually from the movie. I have never touted Bose as the best sound system you can get for $4400 but I love the system I have because it provides me with the sound I enjoy along with a rich feature set that you simply can't get by a pieced together system. As an example, when I say, "Alexa, good night", my TV turns off, my Bose turns off, my gaming console shuts down, and all the downstairs lights go off as I head upstairs to bed. No Bose doesn't make that all happen, but Bose has that functionality built in out of the box and I, for one, love it. It all boils down to what you want and expect from your system.

    I really can't believe anyone will pay over 4,000 dollars for this! Just look at how small that subwoofer is! I highly doubt that thing puts out any bass. Just saying ...

      Darill Fowler Its a true 10" subwoofer that weighs 30 pounds and puts out 180 watts. Considering its size, it does pretty well with bottom end frequencies. Like I've said, you can get thunderous bass from large speakers but if your goal was to have decent sound with a small footprint, the Bose is a nice way to go. For 4k, I could put a better sounding system together true enough but I didn't want my living room to look like a chess set made of speaker towers.

      Michael Ealey I agree. Most people who have something negative to say are brand bashing and have never heard the system. Not only that, you have to understand the targeted audience. For 4k you can probably get a better sounding and/or louder system but it would take up a lot of space and more to configure in order to make it all work seamlessly. My Bose speakers are barely noticeable and they sound pretty impressive. Especially with the extra sub. Listen first THEN have an informed decision versus an obvious rant. That's how I see it.

      Oh don't get me wrong! I love BOSE! I have several in my house. I just can't see myself paying 4K dollars for that one. That's all I'm saying. And I highly doubt that the sub there is any stronger than what I already have now.

      If I were going to put together an actual home theatre, I probably wouldn't go with Bose but for a living room that I want to sound theatre-like, Bose is the way to go for me. I agree, $4k is a steep price tag. I was a bit surprised at the price then, for me, I added another sub, so that's an additional $699 plus tax. So my system, with the additional sub, is $5100 and I don't regret it one bit. As for the sub, I've had 4 Bose systems so far and, to date, the acoustimass 600 is the strongest sub is the strongest one to date. Which sub do you currently have?

      I'm sure you can. However, as you just admitted, that would be making multiple purchases of products from different manufacturers. As I've said before, when I bought the Bose 650, one of the biggest selling points was the small form factor, ease of installation, features, connectivity and customer service from Bose. I, for one, didn't want a giant receiver with dozens of cables connected to large, bulky speakers that I would have to put on shelves and/or stands all over my living room. My Bose speakers are all small form factor and mounted on the walls with no cables in sight. So, for me, that was the optimum solution to what I was trying to accomplish. When you get your system up and running, I'd love to see it.

    No highs, no lows, Bose. This is not 4000 dolars worth of electronics, more like 800 dolars. These speakers look like toys, and are really bad you can get a full 5.1 set of real speakers with this price.

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thanks for commenting. Let me preface my response by saying I'm not a Bose fan-boy. With that being said, stating the Bose 650 has NO highs and NO lows is not only unfair but unfounded. When I put in a movie, I not only like to hear the glass breaking, I want to hear the shards individually hit the ground. I want to hear the low rumble of an earthquake or the thump of a dinosaur. When I did the unboxing, I had not yet installed the speakers. It was simply the unboxing and the cost. Post-installation, I can tell you the Bose 650 does exactly what I expected. My friends and family as well as my dog have all looked at the front door from my living room when we hear someone knocking on a door in the movie we are watching. As far as you saying it's not worth $4000 worth of electronics and it should be valued at close to $800 that, too, is subjective. I wouldn't pay $400 for an iPhone but people line up for them. The speakers are made of metal, have a good weight and feel to them, accented by real glass tops. Now you are correct, you can get a different set of 5.1 speakers for $4000. You can also get a 5.1 for $300 up to $25000 or more. So what it boils down to is what your goals and expectations are with regards to brand, customer service, system design, components, and sound reproduction. I wanted a well know brand that had great customer service first and foremost. I've had Bose in the past (321, 321gs ,V20) and never had many problems. With system design, I didn't want big bulky bookshelf or freestanding speakers, along with a large receiver and power amp in my media cabinet. The rear surround omnijewels and the bass module can all be connected wirelessly (or wired). I like the fact that I can mount all of these speakers on the wall (not including the subwoofer, of course), they are barely visible, and not a single wire can be seen. It's a nice, clean look over the top of my fireplace and mantel. The Bose had "directional cubes" before, now they are 360 degree "omnijewel" speakers that sound even better. The V20 subwoofer, for instance had 2 3.7" drivers, the 650 has a single 10" subwoofer. It's actually very impressive considering the size of the speakers and the sound they put out. Let's just say, the Bose 650 goes from 0-100 and I have yet to go over 50. The bass vibrates the windows in my upstairs bedrooms. (Transformers EMP or Star Wars IV Imperial ship opening scene anyone?) Now I AGREE that you can spend $4000 and get "better" components however you won't be able to inconspicuously mount them, hide the wires, connect them wirelessly, and get good customer service. Sometime getting what you paid involves much more than just the cost. Again, thanks for your comment.

      Hi,
      Thanks for the detailed video. I have a question for you: My current system is V20 and would like to know if the 650 sound is significantly better than the V20. Can you share your experience?
      Thanks again.

    • @YourMobileTech
      @YourMobileTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning. Glad you liked the video. To answer your question, ironically, the system I had before I purchased the Bose 650 was the Bose V20 just like yourself. Now when you ask if the 650 sounds significantly better, that requires a subjective answer as we all have our own idea of what's "better". So for me, personally, I say the sound IS significantly better based on three factors. One, I feel the overall sound of the system has been improved with even smaller speakers from the two front and 2 rear speakers. Two, the center channel seems to be much more powerful than the one with the V20 system and that is because inside the center channel is FIVE speakers which makes it more powerful so the dialogue seems strong and clear. Last, but by no means least, Bose has completely redesigned the subwoofer. The V20 has two cones that work together to produce the bass, the 650 has been upgraded with an actual 10" subwoofer so when I play call of duty or watch transformers you not only hear the explosion, you feel it. And, get this. Bose just recently, in the last 2 months, made an update to the system that allows you to add a SECOND SUB to the 650 for even MORE bass. Of course the sub adds $699 to the total price tag but for those bassheads like me, I just had to have it. And I LOVE the way it sounds I haven't even turned it up over 50 and it's plenty lound AND clear. I hope I was able to answer your question. If you have any more questions, be sure to stop by Your Mobile Tech and I'll do my best to answer your questions.

      hey i have a question about the update with the second sub. Does adaptIQ recognize the second sub and measure it as a standalone sub, because where it stands or are both Syncron measured?

      Sorry about the late reply. I honestly don't know if AdaptIQ measures the second sub separately. I'm going to reposition my speakers and run AdaptIQ and see if I can get a better reply for you.

      Impressive with regards to price would ensinuate the price is reasonable for what you get in return for your investment. Surely you aren't suggesting, sarcastically, that it's impressive due to an exhorbant risk to rewards ratio.
