One of the greatest minds of our time. I don't agree with everything you say, but so many things make sense in this age to be honest. Respect, man!

    One more tale:
A wise chemistry professor in Kansas once passed on sage advice to a young student looking for someone to help with actual good advice for living life, & I have found it as true today as then, “Find those who like you for /who you are.”
He said it with kindness and compassion for a kid being regularly abused without any real role models to turn to, & I never forgot it. I hope it helps President Obama when he feels down (if he didn’t already know that one) ♥️

Can't help but compare the work of the two most recent ex-Presidents. One of them is working to increase our understanding of the serious challenges in the workplace, another is working hard to remain unincarcerated.

Good career advice at the end :) I would add in the age of amazing tech, liberty, & justice nobody should go unrecognized for their contributions to society. Education will always be vital - I practice what I have learned daily, and people rarely know what I am even talking about 🥂✌️

This entire series was excellent and very thoughtful. From soup to nuts. Well worth watching and was a great reminder of how simultaneously humble/altruistic and intelligent Obama is. The home care section was depressing. Our societal values around service jobs and fields like teaching are deplorable. They deserve a more dignified salary and benefits.

Obama was a patsy. Just like Biden. He was trained by Susan Rice. We had no idea what Hillary, Obama, and Biden were up to. Arranging the virus to cause voting fraud. Hiring a fake doctor to scare everyone into the poison vaccine. He became rich and participated in a third term with a senile old man for the fall guy. Obama played the game and hated America. Looking back, I learned that minorities are a gamble we need to avoid as President.

He really shows the value of being responsible, working as a way to pay your bills. It might not make you famous or like, but you will allow autonomous responsible individuals to then have options about lives, where to live, eat, etc.

One interesting point he mentioned is that one may not necessarily find meaning in work. Things like families may be more important and meaningful. But in reality, the love and respect you get from other family members may not be completely unconditional. One good example would be what Gregor Samsa has been through in The Metamorphosis by Kafka.

The notion that "work is work" and "this is what we are paying you for" results from the imperfection between the supply and demand of the labor market and the power imbalance between the employer and the employee. The job market almost always favors the employer. The typical portrait of a human relationship staff at a layoff scene (robotic, cold-hearted, and calculated) on a silver screen is mostly accurate -- they exist to maximize the value and minimize the employer's liability, not to protect the employee. What the general public can do is (1) strive to be entrepreneurial whenever we can, (2) Use technology platforms and networks to find a job that matches their value better, and (3) find a way to level the playing field, or at least reduce the power gap between the labor and the capital, (4) Be good at what you are doing, keep acquiring new skills.

Mr. President,I was in the UW Hospital phych ward for two days.
I remember the nurses lying to me about not being able to get a badly needed medication to me that I needed to successfully manage a physical health issue "because it was not in their formulary" despite me calling them out on the existence of computers and cars and the fact that it is a world famous teaching hospital.
I remember being sent back home very sick for want of that medication, Mr. President.
I also will never forget Earnestine, the cleaning lady, and how kind she was to me.

I found it really strange how many get into medical field for better pay and they are not interested in treating anyone. I guess anyone can go to medical school. The truth is there were very few good doctors. You see salaries speak for themselves. For this much I promise you this, for that much this and at the end you still have a country like Africa where there was no access to vaccination and medicine. For many countries it costed pennies to repair things, and yet, no-one did it. Nobody wanted to be next Milton to save countries from poverty? How so?

The last 40 years has made it necessary for a family to have 2 incomes unless they are privileged to have some high paying career. ...The system has been broken by deregulating corporate America and de-funding the government through huge tax cuts for the wealthy. The idea that we have such a huge 'banking' industry should shake everyone to the core...things must change or the folks who do the essential work will simply quit from exhaustion and poverty! The low wages caused most of us retired folks who rely on Social Security to live in poverty and fear for our last years of life! After working for over 50 years I can barely squeak by and only because my tiny house is paid off. My 20 year old car and my little house are one break down away from me being in big trouble...and if I get any more medical bills, well...let's just say, it ain't pretty!

here are some takeaways for me from this brilliant interview
    Theme: Value of work
Description: The series highlights the dignity and meaning in all types of work, not just prestigious jobs. Work gives life purpose even if aspects of any job are tedious.
    Theme: Balance work and life
Description: People must balance the desire for meaningful work with fulfilling life outside of work. Work itself should not define someone's entire existence.
Theme: Concerns about AI and job loss
Description: AI may significantly impact knowledge work jobs faster than expected. Society needs to start discussing how to adapt now through policy and programs.
Theme: Focus on the work itself
Description: Success comes from focusing on the work you're interested in, not titles or money. Doing quality work is what matters, not fixating on status or pay.
    Theme: Need for empathy
Description: Giving viewers insight into people's daily work lives builds empathy to inform important policy debates on work issues. Understanding people's experiences and perspectives can shape better solutions.
