Once I went to an NA meeting just to see what it was like, I saw everyone on their phones texting each other in the meeting making drug deals. There's more drugs in the system than out. Incredible but it's true. My niece had her baby in rehab and one in jail and both poor babies tested positive for drugs. The "system" is so broken.
Dude, I sometimes miss working in corrections. You really meet some of the most memorable people that you will ever meet in this line of work. As long as you always remember that you are dealing with real people from all walks of life, and you don't lose that, it is one of the most rewarding careers in the world.

We quit selling Instant Coffee on commissary when we had to take inmates to the Hospital. Their blood pressure shot through the roof and they were kicking 160-180 bpm. Regular coffee was fine. The instant stuff messed them up.
People forget that Caffeine is a DRUG. Just like Alcohol is, and Nicotine is. They're just Legal drugs. Doesn't change the harm it does, and can do to your body. A d, yes..if that dude really did drunk 30-40 packets of Instant Coffee in one day, he should hVd been medically cleared. Wouldn't be so funny when he dropped dead from Cardiac arrest, or full on stroked out right there in the intake unit.
I remember in county jail my cellmate would drink a ton of instant coffee and she would be talking superfast and loud and laughing and speed walking around the jail . she was in jail for crack and after 60 days without crack in jail she said chugging multiple cups of instant coffee made her feel like she hit a big bowl of crack . i even heard some inmates were snorting it trying to get high
Caffeine just hits some of us differently. When I was younger, I used meth a few times and handed it just fine. A few years later, I tried a four espresso shot mocha and thought my heart was going to explode. I remember thinking to myself, “I can’t believe THIS is legal!” 😂

I got a coffee addiction. I had to switch to light roast and decaf. He’s gonna have a helluva brutal migraine when he comes down. Especially if he doesn’t regulate his caffeine levels. People die from caffeine overdoses quite a bit. This guy is skating with death daily
I’m a nurse on a neurological unit, and we frequently administer Fioricet (which contains caffeine) for intractable migraine headaches. This guy is gonna need “the hair of the dog that bit him” pretty soon lol

Consuming extraordinarily large amounts of caffeine can do serious irreversible damage to several internal organs. It can also be fatal. This should have been treated as a medical emergency.
I OD'd on coffee once. Drank 2 pots at work. When I got home, didn't feel right and my heart started palpating and I was sweating profusely. Ended up in ER and received a valium which neutralized the caffeine effect. Won't do that again.

I got a coffee addiction. I had to switch to light roast and decaf. He’s gonna have a helluva brutal migraine when he comes down. Especially if he doesn’t regulate his caffeine levels. People die from caffeine overdoses quite a bit. This guy is skating with death daily

I’m a nurse on a neurological unit, and we frequently administer Fioricet (which contains caffeine) for intractable migraine headaches. This guy is gonna need “the hair of the dog that bit him” pretty soon lol
@Hugh Jarse caffeine doesn’t degrade when exposed to heat. There is no difference.
With my ADHD at this point I'm probably having 40 coffees a day. & then you know what I do - SLEEP!

I know for sure I have ocd but my house a mess cuz I get anxiety thinking about cleaning because i want everything to be perfect or its no point. Idk but I'm a recovering addict and I'm struggling without the drugs because I can't focus or finish anything
I get knocked out and have meth planted in my shoes at least twice a week, I'm constantly cleaning the meth bags out of my socks, so annoying I feel this guy's pain.

I OD'd on coffee once. Drank 2 pots at work. When I got home, didn't feel right and my heart started palpating and I was sweating profusely. Ended up in ER and received a valium which neutralized the caffeine effect. Won't do that again.
It's a terrible feeling that won't wear off fast enough!
Next time save yourself the med bills and grab a bottle of booze it does the same thing trust me...
