    I think your channel is addictive since I have spent the entire night & morning to watch and listen to all of your episodes instead of doing what I really was supposed to do. Probably the nicest and best thing I have seen on TH-cam. #feelgoodvideo

    Thanks for sharing. What a beautiful sail. Drop dead gorgeous. A big compliment in your taste of music, perfect accompaniment for your video material. Too often other vloggers use music that annoys the heck out of the viewer which often spoils the content. Not on your channel. Safe travels.

    Great footage. The subtle colors and hues in the early morning were sublime. Rema 1000 is great but we think Xtra is even better and found almost everywhere. More organic foods too. The whole cofee beans are relatively inexpensive too. We got hooked on their bulk cashews. But forget avocados. Both too expensive and usually rot before ripening. Quite a few boats over winter Bodø we have heard.

    • @mattjohnson6716
      @mattjohnson6716 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing really needs to be done as far as maintenance vs fiberglass. You just have to keep the bilge clean and the barrier coats under the bottom paint in good condition. We're going to put her up for sale in a few months, so check back if interested (around $85k). -Matt

      @@mattjohnson6716 WHAT???? For sale??!! Then what???

    • @mattjohnson6716
      @mattjohnson6716 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garysouza2277 Another boat of course! - probably a catamaran project.
      Elements has done what what she was rebuilt for; she's taken us to Norway and the Arctic Circle. Since that goal has been reached, it's time to start thinking about trying something different.
      I love the work that comes with a project boat, but Elements is down to just the unfun tiny finishing details that I don't enjoy much. So, we think a project catamaran- if I can find one cheap enough- will be the next step for us.
      Unlike last time when we bought Elements, we aren't in a financial position to own two boats at one time. But we also aren't going to put much effort into selling until maybe the end of next season. So the boat's kind-of permanently for sale if the right buyer comes along... basically anyone that's not a pain; will take her cruising where she belongs; and has cash in hand.
      Matt

    • @garysouza2277
      @garysouza2277 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      matt johnson Oh no, not a cat.... :-) I cruised for about 6 months on a big cat and didn’t like the pounding of the bridgedeck. Way more than my monohull does. Did like sailing flat... mostly. Shit still fell where it belonged when it got rough, though. And it was significantly more expensive than a mono.

    • @petezaparty5965

      @@mattjohnson6716 A catamaran?? Really?? Good for you if that's the direction you wanna go, but I'll un-sub when the time comes. You are one of the few monohull channels I watch that actually sail places, not just go from bay to bay in the Caribbean. Yea, I'm a monohull guy and just not into the whole catamaran thing. Just not the same. Felt the same about LV and Ruby Rose. Loses it's appeal to me. Sorry

    Just saw the news on tv. (10min ago)
    There’s a boat with two people, that has capsized right where this is filmed.
    About 40knot of wind. Snow and heavy swell. They have found one and brought him in.
    I don’t want to bring bad news. I just want you and the rest of the viewers to understand the contrast of our country. It’s a vast difference between summer and autumn/winter.
    You should all come and see/feel it. Just stay safe 😊

    Hey guys, good video. I need to ask, how bad are videos that are put together quickly without perfect editing. Watching a video from August on November 20th isn't as much fun as seeing videos closer to real time. I'm sure you have heard this a lot and I'm sorry to bring it up, but I'm curious. I know you spend a couple of days editing one video and then you need to search for internet to upload the episode. But, I would LOVE to just get a look at some unedited film to see what you're up against and to see if it's as awful as I'm sure you think it is. I just wish I had some idea of where you are today, and I don't mean I expect you to fill me in daily, but I'm pretty sure others feel the same way and showing unedited video would sure free up your time. And have a nice Thanksgiving.

    • @MJSailing
      @MJSailing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Stephen! Part of the reason our videos are running a few months behind at the moment isn't due to editing constraints, but seasonal sailing. Although we did shoot A TON of footage in Norway (usually filming 2-3 episodes worth a week), we didn't rush to get everything up because we knew our sailing season would come to a halt from November - April. If we were in the tropics and had the ability to continue filming through the year, keeping up to date would be much more of a priority. But since we'll be marina bound for a bit, not forcing ourselves to catch up will allow us to have new content to put out all winter. For those that are curious where we are in real time, our social media accounts are kept much closer to real time, and we try to get videos up to our Patrons every few weeks with what we've been up to in real time. 😉

    • @pavichapin
      @pavichapin 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is pretty much impossible to sail 365 days a year. If the videos were close to real-time, there would be periods of months with no new content. Sailing Satori has not posted in over two months because of getting too close to real-time and running out of content. Most people don't mind the time lag. It really is just a few.

    Hi J&M, Just started watching your channel...less talking direct to camera and more back ground commentary...I love your content but take it from a seasoned film maker, having watched about 20 episodes, the monologues do become a bit tedious especially when what you are telling us is what you have just shown us...sometimes just a short intro and then let the picture tell the story. More titles...less talk. Keep up the great content and safe sailing.
