The part where yellowfang slashes broken star and she sees an image of him being a kit, it brought so much emotion to me. Imagine a mother having to slay her only child to protect herself and catkind’s home, she must’ve felt so awful. She would’ve been such a good mother to him if given the chance. Yellowfang was definitely cursed in many ways, her motherhood robbed from her, an abusive relationship with her only mate, exiled from her birth place and home, and dying in one of the most painful ways possible. I wish we could’ve seen her live longer in the books, by far one of the worse delt hands in the series.
Yellowfang wasn’t exactly a bad mother for blinding him. In the books, her blinding him was his chance, but once him and t(e other bad guys attacked that’s when she killed him with death berries. So Yellowfang wasn’t a bad mom for not giving him a second chance, because she did give him a second chance.

It truly turned out so incredibly emotional and visually perfect and it does so well presenting the story aspects that even I who haven’t read the arc understands what’s happening perfectly!! Everyone did an amazing job I was in awe through the whole thing
This is probably the best Warriors MAP or MAP in general, that I have ever seen. Yellowfang still seeing him as a kit, the attack, everything. The end with Fireheart sitting with her makes it hurt so much worse. She probably saw him as the son she wanted.
Starclan really just said “we’ll take 2 of your kits and leave ya with the evil one” didn’t they. Bloody hell. Wonderful map as always. Perfect timing. And wonderful visuals.
I have an au where they cant do anything because starclan has a leader, and all that “starclan has no leader” is because they dont want the cats to worry about them having a very evil leader. And also since no one revealed who teached ashfur to posses cats, well in my au the leader thought him to, because he can.
And what’s sadder is that Yellowfang treated Fireheart like her own son and although she was grumpy to him (which is understandable cause what she went through before she met him) but she loved him and when she died from the fire. You can feel the pain both from both sides.
Yellowfang’s story is the most depressing fucking thing I’ve ever read and watching this after literally just finishing her book makes me want to crumple up and d i e. Poor Yellowfang. She deserved so much more than that. Everyone she loved that was in Shadowclan, even her own parents, turned against her. She was blamed for something that was false but the whole clan didn’t notice that the cause of the bloodshed is their own damned leader. Yes, there were people that disagreed with him, but they did nothing to help Yellowfang. Even fucking runningnose said at one point that it was good exercise for the kits to do battle training. Hell, a kit broke his own neck battle training with his sibling because they aimed wrong. Ok now I’m done rambling. Yellowfang is my favorite character and no one will change my mind 💙
I really love how the tension ramps up and the visuals get more intense with the music before it breaks almost like a sigh of relief at the end, it was such a good effect? And the shot with Raggedstar's death, I don't think I've ever seen anyone do it quite like that, less as a fight and more like the unexpected murder than it is, it's such a desperate scene. THIS IS A V GOOD MAP GOOD WORK, EVERYONE!

I cannot stop watching this. It honestly feels like im watching a movie. Yellowfang has one of the most tragic stories in all of warriors imo and this really does that pain justice, you can feel it through the screen

I watched this video way back when it came out 2 years ago and rewatching this now, It's somehow even better than I remembered. The story, the amazing animations and just.. everything. Made me emotional fr I LOVE THIS SM RAGGHAHHHHH!! So inspiring T-T
I hadn't been following the progress of this MAP aside from watching a few map parts, but what an absolute treasure this is! The pacing is perfect, I personally have a hard time watching long maps that have a slower pace, and somehow this one didn't ever feel slow to me. The fight scene between Ragged and Broken is seamless and breath taking.
I've never read warrior cats myself (though I have friends in the fandom and have seen a lot of videos on the series) but in the scene where yellowfang is climbing the bodies of kittens to get to brokenstar, who is now absolutely an insane murderous psychopath, to end him gives very strong berserk chapter 25 vibes. (If you know you know, if not, I wouldn't recommend looking it up if this video was a bit too much for you) although it was still wonderfully animated and I very much enjoyed watching it
Jesus this was so amazing, the pure emotion and pain expressed throught it, Yellowfangs story always interested me a lot it was so tragic so seeing it illustrated like this actually got to me so much, it was hard not to cry. Amazing work from all the animators.
ITS SO HARD TO FIND WORDS THAT DESCRIBE HOW INCREDIBLE THIS IS!! it’s so chilling and the music fits so perfect with everything!! the amount of pain that Yellowfang goes through in her life is so unfair. the map really shows how messed up Brokenstar is as a charecter. all the emotions in this map is so powerful, loved it!!
I’ve been holding off on watching this but holy crap. This is amazing. I got chills during the final chorus, the emotion and imagery in this vid…. raw and painful but beautifully animated
When I first read the books I didn't realize how dark this particular situation was. Like there's something so brutal about a mother having to kill her messed up son who already killed his father and a ton of innocents when he basically became a Hitler
Okay, I usually don't comment much but I really loved how this map turned out! Everyone did fantastic with their part and you can practically feel the horror Yellowfang feel's at Brokenstar's actions. Also, I love this new format a lot of maps have started following? Like, beautifully created credits and then some sort of eerie or cliffhanger like clip at the very end of the video is something I really like! Anywho, this was an awesome experience and I enjoyed watching every second of the animators hard work :)
I'm going to be honest, after what i considered to be the peak in WC MAPs in 2015-17 ish, I never cared as much for the new MAPs because I just couldn't compare them. But this one.. oh boy this one. Now one of my all time favourites, holy heck, absolutely amazing job, and I'm watching the credits right now and my old friend animated a part!!! Absolutely wild! Amazing work, Araxie
Fucking tears, The best map ever, Loved the rotation animation at the end. I love how you can see how much it fucking hurt Yellowfang to kill Brokenstar and that she had to even keep the fact that he was her son a secret for a long period of time in the book, it hurt her so fucking much and that she said ~"I wish you'd be my son, but I could not have born a cat like you. Starclan gave me Brokentail to teach me a lesson"~ And she also said this~"My punishment wasn't that 2 of my kits died.. It was that he survived..."~ She even saved Brokentail from a god damn FIRE and he kicked her out for a crime she did'nt do. Yellowfang my favorite, and you cant change it ever.
I know this made a year ago, but it really brings out how deep a character yellowfang and brokenstar were, two half’s of a whole who’s lives were given as punishment. Yellowfang would of been a good warrior and mother, and I can sympathize with having a destiny you don’t want
It never actually clicked in my mind before but damn he really did kill his own father didnt he? And while he likely didnt know, that last look Ragged got before his eyes rolled up seemed to imply he knew it was his own son who did it... jesus. I forgot how brutal these kids books could be at times
OH MY GOD. This is one of the most amazing maps Ive seen in a while 😍😳 It has just the right amounts sadness and shock, and just the right amount of disturbing-ness to really portray the tragedy that was brokenstars life, and Yellowfangs to an extent. All of the animators did an absolutely amazing job, Ill probably come back to watch it again from time to time, its heart wrenching in the most amazing way, because all the artists really captured the characters and their emotions, so you really start to feel for them and get attached and invested in the story. And that end credit scene was just phenomenal, the way Fireheart comforts her, then leaves her to her thoughts, and how you can tell she finally comes to terms with herself and her actions, and leaves to carry on with life. And the scene of brokenstar, looking completely corrupt and in rage, was amazing. Ive been anticipating for this MAP for a long time, and its absolutely amazing. Props to all of the animators and artists who put their work into this, it resulted in a really gorgeous video 🙏🙏❤️ (Im also a big James supercave fan so I really love this song choice, its super fitting)

this map genuinely made me cry. i put myself in yellowfang's position and the horror i felt was so real. when he gets up onto the rock and cats begin to run in fear, i couldn't have felt any more terrified. everyone who took part in this map did such a great job, it's such a gorgeous map and really shows the trauma that yellowfang went through. especially when just before she swipes at him, she sees him as her kit once again. absolutely heartbreaking, thank you to all the animators who helped this map become what it is.
This is the first MAP to have me start sobbing. Yellowfang really was a Mother who lost everything and as much as she took her own sons life, the pure amount of guilt from his actions that had to be resting with her is immeasurable. Every animator truly brought justice to her and her arch with this MAP. Thank you.

I know i late, but this is probably one of my new favorite maps. Its so smooth and beautiful and really captures all the emotions of yellowfang and how dark her story is… i really did cry when she died but this made me even more sad for her realizing how sad her story was again. Great job to everyone who did this because this was AMAZING!!
I've been waiting to see this project finished for SO long and I'm honoured you showed my fanart at the end!!! I'm a huge brokentail & raggedstar fan I loved seeing them come to life! Ironically enough my favourite scene is raggedstars death in this MAP hats off to the animators/storyboarders!

ive rewatched this like 10+ times over the course of 2 days, like oh my god i cant stop thinking about it!!!! i Love the credits and post credits scene. on my first watch i scrolled down to the comments during the fanarts portion, and then scrolled up just as the post creds rolled in. i think that might be the first time a warriors map ever scared me shitless JDHFKDF ever since then i just get Intense goosebumps and the hairs on the back of my neck just stand straight up. its AWESOME!!!
I love how you show Yellowfang being troubled with her sympathy for Brokenstar. He is a terrible cat, but she still loves him. Broken *is* Yellow’s son, after all. I can’t blame her.
I genuinely cannot stop watching this. The music was such a wonderful choice, and every animator involved did such a fantastic job. The pacing was incredible as well. Overall, a gorgeous MAP that I'm very glad was finished!

I feel like all of the deaths and pain that was caused under Brokenstar’s rule could have been avoided if Raggedstar actually listened to Yellowfang. If he was more careful, maybe if he didn’t make Brokentail deputy.. Or at least didn’t say to Brokentail right after Cloudpelt was made deputy: *”I’ll mAkE yOu DePuTy AfTeR cLoUdPeLt DiEs”*

everytime i watch this, everytime brokenstar's face changes to brokenkit's it gives me chills. Really perfectly captures Yellowfang's heartbreak and struggle. She's seeing her son, her baby, and has to do the unspeakable to stop him.

I got randomly recommended this despite never reading the books, can someone explain why evil cat was murdering kittens and the other members just went with it? I'm guessing the cat he killed was the old leader was this a lions taking over the pride thing? ETA: amazing map the animation was gorgeous
yep, his dad was leader before him! a lot of the cats in his clan were swayed by his charisma and ambition. it kind of functioned like a cult. other members were horrified, but i had trouble fitting most of them in due to time and script coherency.

@@kamogirlz the cats in the books function wayy differently than real cats, they’re basically little fluffy humans… lol. they have a leader and a second in command/deputy, and brokenstar was the latter. there aren’t any primary breeding males and the couples in warriors are monogamous for the most part. it’s all inordinately hard to explain. 😂 so complicated!
@@kamogirlz Take all you know about irl cats, and throw them out the window /hj They can only mate within their group according to their laws, theyre is no single breeding male, they're like us for the most part. They can break up with the mate and find a new one if they so choose, so long as its in that group ((The laws of the world is if you have kids with a member of another group, your loyalties will falter and you'll betray your birth/current clan if you meet their mate or their kin in battle)) In their world, when a kitten turns six months old ((they use moons instead of months)), they're trained for six more months to become warriors, so at a year old they're 'full' members of the group. The reason they're trained at six moons instead of immediately is because they're still nursing at that age/are MUCH smaller than what they'd be subject to fight, along with they're not big enough to hunt and keep up with patrols. Murder cat decided to take the kittens and train them when they're 3 months old, sentencing them to death pretty much, as we actually saw a one get killed because he was fighting a cat three times his age ((not shown in this video, in the books))

i remember being a really cold winter day when the map call first came out, it has lived in my brain ever since, this song means a lot to me now

ITS SO HARD TO FIND WORDS THAT DESCRIBE HOW INCREDIBLE THIS IS!! it’s so chilling and the music fits so perfect with everything!! the amount of pain that Yellowfang goes through in her life is so unfair. the map really shows how messed up Brokenstar is as a charecter. all the emotions in this map is so powerful, loved it!!

I’ve been holding off on watching this but holy crap. This is amazing. I got chills during the final chorus, the emotion and imagery in this vid…. raw and painful but beautifully animated
When I first read the books I didn't realize how dark this particular situation was. Like there's something so brutal about a mother having to kill her messed up son who already killed his father and a ton of innocents when he basically became a Hitler

Okay, I usually don't comment much but I really loved how this map turned out! Everyone did fantastic with their part and you can practically feel the horror Yellowfang feel's at Brokenstar's actions. Also, I love this new format a lot of maps have started following? Like, beautifully created credits and then some sort of eerie or cliffhanger like clip at the very end of the video is something I really like! Anywho, this was an awesome experience and I enjoyed watching every second of the animators hard work :)
I'm going to be honest, after what i considered to be the peak in WC MAPs in 2015-17 ish, I never cared as much for the new MAPs because I just couldn't compare them. But this one.. oh boy this one. Now one of my all time favourites, holy heck, absolutely amazing job, and I'm watching the credits right now and my old friend animated a part!!! Absolutely wild! Amazing work, Araxie
Fucking tears, The best map ever, Loved the rotation animation at the end. I love how you can see how much it fucking hurt Yellowfang to kill Brokenstar and that she had to even keep the fact that he was her son a secret for a long period of time in the book, it hurt her so fucking much and that she said ~"I wish you'd be my son, but I could not have born a cat like you. Starclan gave me Brokentail to teach me a lesson"~ And she also said this~"My punishment wasn't that 2 of my kits died.. It was that he survived..."~ She even saved Brokentail from a god damn FIRE and he kicked her out for a crime she did'nt do. Yellowfang my favorite, and you cant change it ever.
I know this made a year ago, but it really brings out how deep a character yellowfang and brokenstar were, two half’s of a whole who’s lives were given as punishment. Yellowfang would of been a good warrior and mother, and I can sympathize with having a destiny you don’t want

It never actually clicked in my mind before but damn he really did kill his own father didnt he? And while he likely didnt know, that last look Ragged got before his eyes rolled up seemed to imply he knew it was his own son who did it... jesus. I forgot how brutal these kids books could be at times
The struggle between Brokentail and Raggedstar is so well done, my god. It gives me chills every time.
OH MY GOD. This is one of the most amazing maps Ive seen in a while 😍😳 It has just the right amounts sadness and shock, and just the right amount of disturbing-ness to really portray the tragedy that was brokenstars life, and Yellowfangs to an extent. All of the animators did an absolutely amazing job, Ill probably come back to watch it again from time to time, its heart wrenching in the most amazing way, because all the artists really captured the characters and their emotions, so you really start to feel for them and get attached and invested in the story. And that end credit scene was just phenomenal, the way Fireheart comforts her, then leaves her to her thoughts, and how you can tell she finally comes to terms with herself and her actions, and leaves to carry on with life. And the scene of brokenstar, looking completely corrupt and in rage, was amazing. Ive been anticipating for this MAP for a long time, and its absolutely amazing. Props to all of the animators and artists who put their work into this, it resulted in a really gorgeous video 🙏🙏❤️

I love the animations and the subtitles, no animation has ever before had such amazingly made subtitles that go perfectly with the scenes imo.

this map genuinely made me cry. i put myself in yellowfang's position and the horror i felt was so real. when he gets up onto the rock and cats begin to run in fear, i couldn't have felt any more terrified. everyone who took part in this map did such a great job, it's such a gorgeous map and really shows the trauma that yellowfang went through. especially when just before she swipes at him, she sees him as her kit once again. absolutely heartbreaking, thank you to all the animators who helped this map become what it is.

This is the first MAP to have me start sobbing. Yellowfang really was a Mother who lost everything and as much as she took her own sons life, the pure amount of guilt from his actions that had to be resting with her is immeasurable. Every animator truly brought justice to her and her arch with this MAP. Thank you.
this seriously is such a masterpiece. the talent throughout the entirety of this is just.. astounding. i dont even have words to describe how much i love this map. its so chilling and the animation is extremely professional. thank you all so much for making this possible, it really is something to boggle at
I know i late, but this is probably one of my new favorite maps. Its so smooth and beautiful and really captures all the emotions of yellowfang and how dark her story is… i really did cry when she died but this made me even more sad for her realizing how sad her story was again. Great job to everyone who did this because this was AMAZING!!

ive rewatched this like 10+ times over the course of 2 days, like oh my god i cant stop thinking about it!!!! i Love the credits and post credits scene.
on my first watch i scrolled down to the comments during the fanarts portion, and then scrolled up just as the post creds rolled in. i think that might be the first time a warriors map ever scared me shitless JDHFKDF ever since then i just get Intense goosebumps and the hairs on the back of my neck just stand straight up. its AWESOME!!!
I love how you portrayed brokenstar signaling his clan to fight to the death, and how one of the kits died from the one warrior. It’s beautiful!

I love how you show Yellowfang being troubled with her sympathy for Brokenstar. He is a terrible cat, but she still loves him. Broken *is* Yellow’s son, after all. I can’t blame her.
I genuinely cannot stop watching this. The music was such a wonderful choice, and every animator involved did such a fantastic job. The pacing was incredible as well. Overall, a gorgeous MAP that I'm very glad was finished!

The fact that I finished the 2nd book yesterday and all this was in it is crazy, it’s like people animated one of the best scenes from it. I love this map and the song fits the story so well, it’s crazy! Definitely one of my favorite maps!

I feel like all of the deaths and pain that was caused under Brokenstar’s rule could have been avoided if Raggedstar actually listened to Yellowfang. If he was more careful, maybe if he didn’t make Brokentail deputy.. Or at least didn’t say to Brokentail right after Cloudpelt was made deputy: *”I’ll mAkE yOu DePuTy AfTeR cLoUdPeLt DiEs”*
This is so goooooood. I love Yellowfang so much, I think she has the most interesting story of the first series. This really encapsulates all that tragedy.
I love how Brokentail looks so small when he's riding on Raggedstar like he's a bull in a rodeo. I always just imagine Brokenstar as small. 2:33

everytime i watch this, everytime brokenstar's face changes to brokenkit's it gives me chills. Really perfectly captures Yellowfang's heartbreak and struggle. She's seeing her son, her baby, and has to do the unspeakable to stop him.
This was absolutely phenomenal, and easily one of the best MAPs this talented animation community has ever produced.

I got randomly recommended this despite never reading the books, can someone explain why evil cat was murdering kittens and the other members just went with it? I'm guessing the cat he killed was the old leader was this a lions taking over the pride thing?

yep, his dad was leader before him! a lot of the cats in his clan were swayed by his charisma and ambition. it kind of functioned like a cult. other members were horrified, but i had trouble fitting most of them in due to time and script coherency.

Still a little confused, from the little I know the kits usually have different fathers but I'm guessing his (old leader) whole thing was being the only breeding male? Ah I'm just guessing now I think I'll have to look into the books if I want the full scoop lol
@@kamogirlz the cats in the books function wayy differently than real cats, they’re basically little fluffy humans… lol. they have a leader and a second in command/deputy, and brokenstar was the latter. there aren’t any primary breeding males and the couples in warriors are monogamous for the most part. it’s all inordinately hard to explain. 😂 so complicated!

They can only mate within their group according to their laws, theyre is no single breeding male, they're like us for the most part. They can break up with the mate and find a new one if they so choose, so long as its in that group ((The laws of the world is if you have kids with a member of another group, your loyalties will falter and you'll betray your birth/current clan if you meet their mate or their kin in battle))
In their world, when a kitten turns six months old ((they use moons instead of months)), they're trained for six more months to become warriors, so at a year old they're 'full' members of the group. The reason they're trained at six moons instead of immediately is because they're still nursing at that age/are MUCH smaller than what they'd be subject to fight, along with they're not big enough to hunt and keep up with patrols. Murder cat decided to take the kittens and train them when they're 3 months old, sentencing them to death pretty much, as we actually saw a one get killed because he was fighting a cat three times his age ((not shown in this video, in the books))

I remember seeing this map a long time ago and waiting to see it completed and now just seeing it finished and everything is just waaa, it's so beautiful man, I just have no words honestly, I'm amazed and in awe fhushejus all the artists did an amazing job and I hope they all know that!! I watched this two years ago when I only knew of Yellowfang from the first series. To watch it again after having read all her afterlife appearances and Yellowfang’s Secret, that’s just something else. So many things I didn’t understand before, now I can recall everything single action or word from the books that inspired this MAP. ❤️
