    PrePaid cards ... Perfect example of why I prefer cash. No BS hidden fees. A swipe fee?? What creative, greedy, jerk came up with that nonsense? Cash is still king.

      NGMonocrom well if you're an owner of a successful business, you can shove everything into a good credit union. They'll give you big reward points for free vacations like cruise trips, hotel visits in other countries, hey, maybe even tech at best buys or such places.

      Only problem…which I am running into is I need to rent a hotel room. They said credit card is mandatory. Which I understand and usually I’ll just give a family member the cash and they will use their card. But with Hotels they want a credit card matching the name of the reservation occupant. So now I have to go get a card I will

    Bull crap. At NetSpend, with Direct Deposit, you only pay a $5.00 a month maintenance fee. And that's IT. NO per swipe fees. AND you get a FREE $10.00 overdraft so if you miscalculate and overdraw your card by $10.00 or less you WON'T BE CHARGED ANYTHING! Compare that with a brick and mortar bank, where if you overdraw JUST ONE PENNY, they'll charge you over $30.00 for an "overdraft fee", and THEN start charging you $8.00 PER DAY until you cover that overdraft! If you are on a fixed income, by the time your direct deposit shows up, you could be BROKE by the brick and mortar bank....

      how do they recieve the 10$? from the money i put on it?

    • @DrTazMage
      @DrTazMage 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It isn't a free $10, it's a free OVERDRAFT of $10 ....in case anyone misunderstood..."FREE" as in they don't charge you any fees for overdrawing your card $10 or less...

    • @DrTazMage
      @DrTazMage 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love how people call me names....I guess because I don't give banks my money....whatever.....I pay a $5 fee each month..wow....I'm really giving my money away ....I'd rather pay a $5 a month fee and not have to worry if my math is spot on than risk having to pay all those fees a BANK charges.....

    • @StubbornMook
      @StubbornMook 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      you said u pay 5$ monthly so where do u go to pay the 5$ or do they take it from your card when you reload?

    This card is the biggest fraud there is. Can't even reload unless you have other card tied into yours. They charge ridulious fees for everything you're better off with cash or other card.

    I have two primary cards: AccountNow and Mango. Each has its pros and cons versus the other. The only other debit card (stand alone) that I've had is Netspend (rarely used).
    Note: If your card doesn't have Direct Deposit as a free feature don't bother with it. Don't go to ATMs. Go to Walmart for small amount of cash ($100 or less) and you won't be charged outlandish ATM fees.
    AccountNow is one of the more established companies so they're not a fly by night company. I've been with this since 2006 but didn't use the card until I got my Income Tax direct deposited on it. and has been active since. I don't have a monthly maintenance fee (guess because I've been with them for over a decade) and a swipe fee of $1 per use. There are plenty of ways to load money on your card with AccountNow such as GreenDot, MoneyGram and Walmart (you can load money at the register with a swipe). You can also go over by a couple of dollars if your account is low and not get charged a fee. Their biggest con is CUSTOMER SERVICE. The people are friendly (bless their hearts) but I have yet to talk to someone from the United States. I can see how this maybe frustrating for some who are trying to make points about the issues with their card but the person you are talking to can't seem to grasp it the way you want them to. Example: i had an issue with someone using a scanner on my card and took my money off my card. I contact them about trying to get a new card after the other one was misplaced and the customer rep could barely understand what I was trying to tell her
    Mango Money has a savings account attached to their card with an interest rate of 6% if you Direct Deposit at least $500 a month on the card and the balance is under $5000. There is a $3/month fee and a $1/swipe fee. The biggest disadvantage for me with this card is the lack of places to load the card compared to AccountNow
    If you are looking for a card to regularly use every day I would recommend AccountNow because they have more options as far as reloading.
    Mango's biggest plus is that 6% saving account attached to it so it would be great for people who receive monthly benefits or a regular paycheck if they can't get a regular checking account. Would also recommend it for students as a starter checking/savings account.

    Netspend has 2 types of accounts, the "Pay as you go", that you mentioned, but even that fee plan can be changed to only $9.95 a month where it won't charge you each time you use the card and it's a flat fee each month. There is also NetSpend Premier, which only charges you $5.00 a month with Direct Deposit. I think if you're going to report on something you should do it fairly. And use ALL of the facts, not just the convenient ones...

      I'm thinking of getting this card. Does it work well shopping online? What happens if you try to take out two much money/Try to pay to much money with the card?

    • @MegaMarie
      @MegaMarie 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      golden Mining I only can tell you through experience. So far I used it online with Amazon, and boots well. You cannot connect it to paypal, although I actually never tried. It is now contactless, so used it on the bus and any transactions under £30 with ease. I only ever added under £100 each transaction through debit card loading online with app and website (debit was quicker). Whatever you add on the card is what you can only spend, not more or no less. If you have £100 in the pockit card, and make a transaction of £110 it will decline like credit cards, it cannot take extra money from anywhere. I made part payments with it if I paid by cash than use this pockit card to pay off remaining balance. The only issue is how long it takes for the card to arrive, and calling their customer service. It takes two weeks for my card to arrive (I did not need documents, but some may need to send it for verification). The customer service takes long to answer by phone, the calls are expensive waiting for them to pick up!. Emailing them is okay but if they improve their telephone service It would be 100% for me.

      I joined Pockit earlier this year and have been using it quite a bit. I'm also in the UK, so I was happy to find a company like Pockit. Sad to hear that you can't link it with Paypal, though as I shop on eBay quite a lot as well.
