This is probably the most misunderstood dynamic of the organization. Unless you are a part of the inner circle, you have no way of knowing how much influence Tomlin has. Even though player selection is not his responsibility,at $15M/yr, I would think he’s actively petitioning. On paper, Nope….not his. In real life, Omar & Rooneys know Tomlin’s preferences and If I had to guess, I’d say there was a level of consensus before making final decisions. But who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

We all know Mike Tomlin isn't a bad coach because bad coaches just don't have the resume that he has of consistent winning even when the roster isn't great. The problem is we do not have a great quarterback or players that show up when it matters most. Now, I still blame Mike Tomlin because this roster is good enough to win a playoff game great quarterback or not. I don't think though that we can win a Super Bowl without a great quarterback and unless Justin Fields unlock something that we never seen before I don't think he is the answer either.

Ben was certainly one of the top 4 QBs in the AFC at that time (From 2014-2017 he made the Pro-Bowl each year), and Tomlin couldn't get it done. Why? Because HIS defense has given up 38 pts per game on average in his last 6 playoff games (all losses), and because they are unprepared (down 73-0 in the 1st qtr) and (143-47 at the end of the 1st half), in those same games, and because they are ALWAYS outsmarted by the coaches of the the elite teams. He's not a great coach, he's average just like Bradshaw said. Please stop saying his playoff failures are due the QB, which is an outright falsehood.

The fanbase are clearly spoiled. Eighteen winning seasons and a SB arent enough. The third most wins in the nfl in last 20 years. Let them be a perrenial loser for a while with different coaches. See if that changes their tune. The collective EGO needs to get knocked down a few rungs. They'll wish the had him back.

Add context Sir, McCarthy went 21-5 twice, with Cowboys and this year didnt have a QB (injured) and 3 or 4 of his top defense stars too. again stop talking out of context you're smarter than that.
Now be smart enough to compare McCarthys playoff resume to Tomlins. Remember what's important.
      Regular Season or Playoffs

Hopefully Steelers fans see this but Andy Reid couldn't win a playoff game in Kansas city until Patrick mahomes was starting at QB. It's not Tomlin it's the fact he doesn't have a QB that can compete. I know Steelers fans remember their last playoff win it was against Andy Reid and the chiefs in 2016. After that loss chiefs traded for Patrick mahomes and the rest is history. Just give Tomlin a QB and he can win

Andy Reid is an offensive minded coach. Tomlin is not. Tomlin had an elite offensive for 5 plus years and had 3 playoff wins. You need offensive minded coaches in today’s NFL.
