You NEED to max your Vi'dar in Star Trek Fleet Command | The value of this 3 year old specialty ship

- In January's State of The Game that myself, UltimatDJz, and Community Manager Eco did for @everyone in the community we learned that only 6% of the hundreds of thousands of active, DAILY, players had a max Vi'dar. With the Borg receiving a massive update last month many of us were under the assumption players had already gone through this process. Apparently we were wrong. So if you're reading this and are level 25 or level 45, let me explain why you need to max your Vidar!
Topics covered:
1. Independent Credits, Faction Credits, and the value of a 3 year old specialty ship
2. Looking at past Scopely patterns of upgrading Star Trek Fleet Command content
3. Value of the Vidar
4. If you have any game mechanic questions, feel free to drop those questions in the comments!

In addition to the Vi'dar having independent credit and faction credit sourcing, it is a great OPC hunter and it has a very decent hold for all that extra loot!
Correct! FANTASTIC specialty ship because it's not a one trick pony! So rare!
Plus decent pvp ship, ducat crew on mine took out double strength defiant with speed crew, surprised the lvl 40 player that lowly 32 took him out🤣
@@paul8873 what is the ducat crew?

Like I said on the stream the other day: The fact that Scopely sees the Vidar as a core part of player progression yet only 6% of players have maxed it means there is a fundamental disconnect between Scopely’s design/communication teams and the players. I have maxed mine, but I didn’t work on it for over a year because there was just too much other stuff to do.
And if they are releasing a Vidar A next arc, and it works like the Frank or Feesha, there is going to be basically no player engagement with the arc.
How do only 6% of people have one maxed?! I have 2 maxed, maxed 2nd nearly a year ago to make grinding easier as it was a good source for credits (I'm a free player)
@@KeatrithAmakiir 100% and working on my 3rd, if for no other reason then it’s an great ship to “mine” surveys over cargo
@@KeatrithAmakiir how can a free player have the resources to max 2
@@vikroy3777 I'm a hell of a grinder, and I normally play resource management type games (cuz I'm cool like that) and resource management and planning is so much a part of the game it works out well. Though I have a limited ship selection for my level as a result (ops 44, played since dec 2018)
Great update, Rev. I made the mistake of focusing on credits before maxing the Vi'Dar. Very useful to clarify that one should max first and then focus on credits.
Frank A is the best they ever did as it reduced the grind. Feesha was a joke as it just doubled the grind.
I hate the regular Franklin. The grind is fucking ridiculous
@@todddowning5820 I skipped the reg frank and just paid the 100 for frank A when I got to the level.
How did feesha double the grind??? Conc lat refine gives 10-20x lat /day and consumes some 3-4x extra mining time
@@GodGurdjieff The need to grind both clat and lat, still need to dvor up to t9. If feesha could mine lat it would be the perfect ship. Well frank a cutting the grind by 2/3s is perfect
Nice to be part of that 6%. I remember how hard the grind was for Vidar but it has been worth it. Those independent and faction credits have been a boon to my game as free to play.
Wow - I actually got something right in this game - maxed mine out literally this morning! I'm ops level 30. See - I was paying attention! Thanks Rev!
Nice work!
This was the first “niche” ship I maxed and have loved it for what it does for me!
Ill be sharing this video with my alliance in hope that it gets through to our members
Just writing this comment because I currently have my first baby narada building rn and I just wanted to celebrate with you Rev! And I'm definitely maxing it out and being part of that 6% of people who have it maxed! And to edit this comment from the original at 2:52 it looks like your hat is so Advanced that looks like it has some sort of camouflage Tech that it shows part of the video that is currently playing!
I was kinda stunned that it's only 6% of ADP had a maxed Vidar. I think maxing my Vi'Dar was one of the first things I did once I came back to the game. Get tri-locked and max vi'dar. It's a grind but it's straight forward enough if you have the 3* crystal - that may be the block for many players who focused on their faction ships instead.
I had mine maxed by ops 29 because of watching your videos, In fact I had it maxed before having Chen maxed... I bet the percentage has to be a lot higher for viewers of the content creators. It takes a bit to get going to pull a load, but grind has gotten better.
Phewwww, I'm so happy it was never a question in my mind; soon as I got the Vidar I knew I would take it to max ASAP. Need all that refinery possible! BOY am I ever glad now that I did. Thank you to my alliance who told me to get it and max it ASAP, and to Rev Deuce, who did the same! A community that listens and helps others is a community that succeeds.
I have 2 maxed Vi’Dar’s.
I maxed my first one about 9 months ago. About 6 months ago I acquired the skin.
My second Vi’Dar was max tiered just before this last months arc began. I used only nanoprobes I acquired via away teams missions.
After getting the skin I didn’t go to Borg space or kill any Borg probes, yet I’m sitting on the stock pile of nanoprobes to refine. I only do the small refine every day. I use the charged nanoprobes to acquire faction points and faction credits…and now every couple days solo Armada directives.
The main reason why I got a second Vi’Dar is because it is a great ship for OPC hunting, so why hunt with just one? With them I rarely have to mine ISO because I hunt OPC ISO.
6-7 months is extremely optimistic. Most people can't fill their cargo before blowing up, until they get up to at least T7/8. Personally, I couldn't max cargo at T9, even with SNW crew for best loot, until I got the Infinitus skin last month.
9-12 months is more realistic.
I love the Vidar, I have 3 of them maxed since they are great at borg grinding but also OPL hunting
Thanks Rev just got one at level 26 and didn’t realise how important this ship is.
I have 2 accounts and had my Vi’Dar maxed on both of them by the time I hit ops 28, it helped me to skip the 26’s without giving up a good battle ship for my daily stuff, including PvP and armada
Thanks for the encouragement. I haven't really realized the value until this arc of leveling the Vidar.
Glad to help!
I just maxed a vidar and now know the value of it..thank you Rev D
I focused on maxing out my Vi'dar from the moment I got it.I just maxed it, LAST MONTH! I'm so glad that I did! I'm ready for the new content!
I was absolutely stunned when I heard so few people had maxed their vidar. Always max the specialty ships as quickly as you can, it’s the only consistent bit of advice we can give.
I didn't max mines till the 40s. Tier 8 to tier 9 was not a huge jump in credits, but I realised I had the 4* to complete the prime then it became worthwhile
How about a update on how to stack the lower deck stats on the vidar
Even with a Maxed Vi'dar and with the skin, you'll need at least 1 million inert nanoprobes each day to do a full pull for the Borg Solo Armada Directives, 2 pulls from the Faction Credits and with enough to do an Active Nanoprobe pull as well. That's at least 2 trips for me. That's a ridiculous amount of grinding for this. Scopely needs to do something about this loop.
if you have it max'd and with skin then use what Rev showed in the vid... Use the Stonn's and extra cargo under deck... will bring you to the million mark... also it fills pretty quick if you use the exo too
Grind to max your vidar. What’s your reward for it? Here’s a bigger grind. Have a good day.
Great info! Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to try to max out the Vi'Dar (when I eventually get my OPS to level 25, and can unlock it). 😁👍
I had an alliance mate stunned at the amount of faction credit I pull each day. The maxed Vi'dar is part of that equation. His was not nor did he have the Prime research done. (And this person is generally great at crew suggestions...but couldn't figure out how I pull so much faction credits.) Max. The. Vi'Dar.
I was really smug when I learned this finally making a list of players that has done something hardly anyone else has done. I'm actually working on my second currently at tier 7 and plan to build a 3rd to max also
I'd like to see a vidar 2.0 to reduce grind. Ideally be able to get enough borg probes a day for solo borgmada and indy credits. In about a 10 min ish grind. Or a new event for borg stuff like Cerritos/ Franklin day
I LOVE my Vi'dar. I skipped all the lvl 26 ships (until I was in my 30s and built them to scrap) because the Vi'dar was my daily grinder until Sally got up to speed. I still use it regularly for Borg and sometimes when there's an interceptor-specific event and I want the cheapest repair cost. It's a great great ship for a long time.
I remember the goof that Scopely did that resulted in us getting the materials to unlock the prime. chose the borg refinery as I had more use for it.
Couldn’t believe it was less than 50-75% having a maxed Vidar. Hell, I was still grinding 600 faction credits per day plus independent credits before this arc.
i find it hard to believe that I am in the 6% of anything in this game, but I guess I did something right
I’m all most maxed; the video only inspires me more !
I maxed mine at ops lvl 29. I waited to max any other ship until it was maxed. It has helped immensely with my getting of faction ships. 🎉
I just maxed my vadar out today it took me 4 and a 1/2 months I did a lot of grinding in that space
Mine is maxed now but I was all Klingon-y when I went through Ops 25-26. Concentrated on the D3 at the time. That was only good for the scrap. My alt account is 25 and only pulling for ship upgrades before finally taking the faction credits....
I got 2 max and the skin! ty for the video Rev Deuce and LLAP!
heh... i'm working on maxing my 2nd Vidar as its a usefull ship to have for opc hunts :)
Wow finally something in this game i'm above the curve on.
Really glad I maxed it and got the skin early on. I pulled my last 10 BP’s today from Cosmic cleanup to get a second one. I’m expecting Vi’dar A and usual scrap for BP’s! 👍🏼
To back up Rev's message, ideally you need to put off going to 35 (I went from 33 to 35) until you have max Vidar and Frankie ( I had max vidar and t8 frankie and it was painful!). You want those specialty ships done, so you can focus on Frankie-A, mantis and cerritos. I'll say I again, for the benefit of your gameplay, MAX VIDAR AND FRANKIE BEFORE GOING OPS 35. Honestly, if you do that you'll probably think it daft and not see the real value, but if you don't the game will punish you! (My swarm dailies are currently unobtainable, because i don't have Frankie-A)
Got my first one maxed, have a second for some reason that I haven't touched in a long time sitting at level 25. Great ship for OPC raids
I left the game a while back... Glad you seem to be still going strong there, Rev. I had 2 max Viddys before I left, which was right after ?5*? Ships... I think.
Wow A LOT has changed since then Vet!
I didn't know why you were using the label "6 percenter" until I watched the state of the game video. I must admit, it surprised the snot out of me. Now it doesn't surprise me that I have so many friends in the alliance that are not 6 percenters...lol
I've been camping 25 since around Halloween until I triple lock on factions, and getting a T7 Vidar was how I killed my first lvl 39. I'm gonna double lock FED/KLN tomorrow, and probably have a T8 Vidar by the time I'm 26 if not maxed.
+1, i was gob smacked when Eco said it was only 6%. Get this amazing ship maxed asap!
I listened to Rev. I am among the 6%.
Wow, for the first time I'm in the top 6% of something
I've got a maxed vidar only because I needed as many credits as possible. Also the outlaw tree has a research that improves independent credit payout for the Borg refinery and the augment faction. I hate grinding the Stella but it was worth getting the Borg independent credit research maxed.
Mine is maxed and I love it. Currently at 420k for cargo hold. It’s definitely my iso sniper.
I got my Vi'dar max tier but not maxed level yet. still working on that. Was thinking of just putting PMC on there and leaving it in hostile space before going to work and hopefully gain some levels when I log back in.
Happy Birthday 🎉!
As a level 26 player who has a Vidar, what is the best method to quickly upgrade the Vidar. Which sectors and events that can help out in upgrading the Vidar. Thanks again, Rev.
I'm a 6%er 😂 that did blow my mind hearing that. It's a super important ship for lower to mid lvls.
Why have I not maxed it out at level 31? Resources, or rather a lack of. Also, I was late getting the ship because you get access to the specialty ship bps in the 20s all roughly at the same time, the Disco, the Frankie, Vidar (probably others I can't remember now too), but you can only get 10 of 1 of them at a time each week in the event store.
On a fairly new server you're bombarded with a lot of content (ships) in the 20s that older servers had access to 1 at a time when they were released. Eco was right when he said if they dropped the level req for the newer content like the Defiant there would simply be too much to focus on, I'd argue there already is without any rebalancing to the resource economy
I'm 49 and working out in far 4* deep and low 5* deep. You mentioned on a prior video about 'super highways'? No idea what those are, but I'm not loving the 15m+ ship flights out to daily grinds and anything to reduce that sitting around.
mine is a tier 7 and im ops 30 its a grind but im working on maxing it! I use my SNW crew its better than my PMC crew
Rev - is there a reason why Scopely decided not to run the Borg event immediately after "Assimilation Part 1"? Many players saw an immediate need to improve their Vi'Dars and obtain the skin in January, but Scopely decides not to run the event that sources the skin?
Just speculating but they ran the skin events a few times as an slb so they probably wanted give space before probably doing it again this months pass
@@triaxe-mmb There's probably some truth to this - just thinking it would have been a nice goodwill gesture as I know of several players who used the SLB to get close to unlocking the skin, just needing a few more shards.
I've seen several say that the Vi'Dar is nicknamed the U.S.S. Pursesnatcher for lower level players. I dig it. I use my maxed Vi'Dar daily in my resource reallocation process. ;-)
Totally agree with a fellow 6%er. Max it out people. Credits are the reason. Don’t be a 94%er hater 🍻
I agree rev i maxed my vidar i think 2 yrs ago and recently got that georgous skin and been collecting credits every day...my only gripe is the liw level return when converting the active probes..i used to do a weekend grind to last me a week claiming the refinery every day at 100k.. now with added armada i have to grind a hell if a lot more to claim credits and solo armada points..i hope you know what mean
love the ship. got mine to t8. just opened ops 28. making nanoprobes as fast as I can. lol
Im among the 6% lmao. Im a maxer. I need to have all ships maxed at least once
Mine’s maxed as of last Thursday 😊
It is mind boggling. On an older server as 155 I do see a way way higher percentage. But yes, max it y'all!
I max my the dart at level 25, that use the heck out of it to do faction lock on all three factions before I went to ops 26. I’m currently ops 35 and still use it a lot today even though I have all three epic ships.
Just shared this with my alliance not sure how many maxed their Vidars. I know I maxed mine ASAP when it first came out. Hopefully if they bring out a new Vidar it wont be a one trick pony like a lot of the other specialty ships.
Maybe wasn't that big a deal at the time, but I maxed out mine a long time ago and built a 2nd. Never meant to max out the 2nd one but to use it for cheap, fast, and expendable attacking. With current updates, now I'm working on tier ups so I can maximize that bonus Vi'dar loot exocomp.
BTW, loving the green screen ball cap! Looks like an awful lot of space between the eye brows and top of the noggin. Only joking, of course.
Yes the 6% was surprising. What I want to know is what % of level 25 players plus have a max vidar. I think when they go off the total user base, the number can be a little deceiving.
it's not a surprise it's another unc crystal hog
Mine been maxed for almost 2 years, second is tier 7, prepping in case we get to scrap and build a newer version
I'm glad to be in that 6%, but I find that number so ridiculously low.
Focusing on the Vi’Dar between OP’s 25 and 34 is even more important for newer players.
By skipping OPs 28 & 32 ships I was able to reach OP’s 34 and instantly be able to build take a D4 and Enterprise to T4 and get to T6 inside 2 months.
Besides slingshotting the epic growth the Vi’Dar is exceptionally affordable when it comes to repair speedups compared to even OP’s 26 ships, to say nothing of 28 and 32 ships, letting you horde during that growth period.
You can do one or the other not both
I maxed my vidar quite quickly and it's very useful for grinding indy credits and the like.. Its a lot easier to level then other 1-trick ships and can be useful for hunting opc miners without spending much resources on the d3 or saladin
Ops 41. Mines T8 and frankly I stopped there because frankly I didn't really see the need to. Also the game has grown so many legs in terms of grinding, etc. that it just wasn't a priority. But now I guess I'm going to have to considering I'm only getting 6 solo directives per day and have yet to even be able to accrue enough directives to run one.
The thing is: many/most players do the Franklin grind because the daily rewards are worth it and easy. The daily trit reward basically covers your daily repair ticket for 10-15 minutes of work.
My v'idar is getting maxed tomorrow morning!
I'm a Puny lvl 27 I'm 55 blueprints away from having one maxing out I'm not sure when that will happen 😅
I want to say Complete and Max out this ship and you won’t have to worry about it anymore because you’ve done everything there is to do with this ship to get it Max
Don't even need to watch the video to assume the title is a not-so-subtle hint that a Vidar-A is coming :D, with new borg probe locations of higher lvl to fix the newly created strain on nanoprobes.
I have mine maxed but I fully understand why most just walked away from it. It's a grind for a specialty ship that dosnt score in faction events and the rewards for maxing it are not apparent when you open refinery tab. I dumped the Franklin grind I don't see any point of it if there is maybe that info should be in refinery
Yes, please everyone focus that ship!! It will get you far on your fraction credit grind...
And get a minimum of two ships if possible. I have 2 maxed and about to max my third one soon.
So Rev is the Narada the new ship in the game 🙂?
I do think it's super impressive in the movie!
I have a player in my alliance (ops 26) with no vidar. Makes this arc not very fun. He’s 7 weeks away from unlocking through cosmic cleanup. Given that the original Borg arc included a full unlock, do you think another full unlock is warranted now?
I have pushed to make it easier, yes!
...so what's the best was to grind to max the Vidar?? parking it in augment systems seems to be much slower than a lot of other ships? Just grind dailies?
I am literally 300k away from Maxing. I was a late bloomer and I’m now regretting it. Definitely need to find a way of getting the Primes without spending too much.
at level 35 I not only have 1 maxed vidar but 2 of them LOL glad to know I am one of the 6%ers
Vidar max grind first is absolutely the best route. It holds the borg advantage, and a higher cargo cap is great for pvp ☠️
Got to 118 of 120 game told me to get section 31 faction to next level to get the last 2. So I’ve spent weeks pushing to next faction level and went to store to get last 2 shards. Now the shards aren’t in the faction store and the refit for defiant is there instead. Waiting on support to tell me why.
Had no idea the level had a link to payouts. They really need to find better ways to put info into the game and not within a war and peace update message 🙃 Going to max mine now!
The fact that only 6% have it maxed makes me think we will get a vidar a this month. I was worried before they wouldn't do it cause I figured everyone has a max vidar so they wouldn't be able to sell it. But now?
Mine is maxed I have a maxed sally too I did your level 29 camping it took me a long time but I didnt get the raiding done but im going for the amalgam now so when I do find time it can go quick
I am enjoying your youtube channel.
I've maxed my Vidar long ago. I have a second one and I could probably max it already. But I indeed see lots of those below t9. Can name a few reasons:
1. It's a long grind and not everyone wishes to do it daily
2. At some point you were getting enough to do the double refine in two runs and so there was no need to upgrade further
3. It's warp range is limited. For higher level players it's no longer useful as an opc hunter. It can't reach high warp G3 nodes on it's own not to mention deep space. TC kinda helped with that but it again limits Vidar to being ISO hunter.
Mine is giving 300 Faction credits as T9. I guess the 600 is with a Prime? Can you get Scopely to get some more paths to those old Primes? The real money costs for those old ones never seem worth the $50-100 they cost.
COrrect, 600 is with the $50 prime (also the one they gave away). Better sourcing always needed!
@Rev Deuce I’m stuck at Lv30 … I keep trying to upgrade my Vi’Dar but it seems like hitting a dead end
I'm lvl 36 and I haven't maxed my vidar yet mainly because it took so much cnp to upgrade it and other grinding took priority. It's only since the new arc that the borg loot was increased that I've been able to lvl up. I hope there isn't a vidar A in the next part of the arc as it took me ages to lvl up this vidar lol
Oh and in case anyone is interested.....I git what I assume was the incursion comp chest today: 3 SNW Una shards.....some subspace relays and incursion coins (2000 I think).
A tad disappointing 😞
Got it max with 30 - it was rather easy and pays for itself 😎 love the ship
The borg solo is well worth doing. I would hate to have to max vidar now, with even more things wanting those nanoprobes. Max refine of 1m probes only just gives you enough for 1 set of directives, the independent credits, and one lot of faction credits.
To spend anything on vidar components, means you have to drop something good.
Hey Rev, tried 54stonn, could not fill my cargo of 787k. I thought maybe you had Hugh down there in lower deck helping…a crit on round 1 or 2 means a 2 round battle, otherwise it’s 3 rounds and receive one more hit from the probe.
I had tested after your last video on the vidar and came up with 54t’laan as the best, 669k cargo with some hull left over.
54stonn got me to 619k cargo and then dead.
I also tested and found, 12k health stats get you pretty close to max mitigation.
The crew you show in this video has one lower deck missing…was it Hugh?
Hmm, or your ghalenar is higher tier, more loot per hostile perhaps does the trick
I did not have Hugh. Ghalenar is t1
@@RevDeuce yours shows 11k power, mine 4k. I do have 3 levels of territory research for interceptor, ops 46. Cheers, always looking for improvements😊
My problem was farming enough to upgrade baby nad’s component s and at times neglecting him. My main issue was pushing to much rep with the Klingon than the other factions and making both fed and rom want to kill me on sight.
A new Vidar is coming, calling it now
@RevDeuce another great crew is SNW Pike, SNW Uhura and 5. I get a lot of great runs with this crew.
absolutely!
