They reveal her lore at a World Quest, Khvarena of Good and Evil (a quest about that pink bird). You can hear her voice at the beginning of Overtune Teaser: The Final Feast when Freminet underwater.

Our eyes got a lens (located in the front part of eye ball), this lens projects image of what is in front of us onto the retina (located at the back of eye balls). It just happens that due to the properties of lens, the image projected is upside down on retina. The brain just naturally figures it out as it is normal for it. I hope it helps you understand a bit better. And if you google 'does retina gets image upside down' you can see in images how it actually happens.
