- Hi guys
Reaching out and sharing an issue I’m having with a full coverage project.
Help me decide what stitch and fabric to go with.
This is my second attempt at it.
Talked about next flosstube and “gifting”.

I think your piece looks fine. A lot of people do 18ct 2/1. I think as you said if you pull to tight it will bunch up. There are some doing 25ct 2/1 tent or 25ct 1/1 full cross. So many of us do different fabrics in all sizes and do different stitches. In the long run its your piece and you have to do what makes you happy and will enjoy, no sense of stitching and not being happy. keep doing what your doing and test out your stitches on different sizes of fabric until your satisfied. No stitching police. 😀 thank you for sharing and keep us posted on what you chose.
Thanks so much! Maybe I will start in a different spot and see how it goes - maybe I’m just frustrated with this part of the project. 😬
Your stitching looks good. I’ve completed a full coverage on both 14 ct and 18 ct Aida and they both look fantastic.
Thank you! 😊
Your wip looks great. I have seen wips that have been started all over the fabric without rhyme or reason. You just need to find the best way that works for you. That's trial and error. I seem to work differently on all my full coverage dependant on how I feel, how much confetti etc. Then I change how I stitch on each of my wips because I get bored. Cross country, parking, no parking, Royal Rows, etc. Dont overthink it. You might benefit from a material pen to manually grid the area your working on. One of those fine tip light blue ones. I hope you find your way. Oh, and Pattern Keeper is a game changer.
Royal rows?! I’ll have to check that out. I have iPad so I need to use equivalent to pattern keeper. I am getting close to trying that though. Thanks so much for your input. 😊
I have a full coverage, 25 ct 1/1, that I am working on. It’s slooow but on the whole it looks good. I still have a long way to go on it. You are doing the right thing by auditioning the tent vs whole cross, etc. You are doing great. I think your piece looks good but only you can see the close up and you need to feel comfortable or the fun will be gone. Hang in there. It will be a beauty!😊
I’m trying a new section on the one I showed you guys. Maybe I can get through it. If not, it will definitely be tent stitch.
Thank you! 😊
I’ve never considered doing a grid on the fabric. I did a much smaller full coverage and got lost, so the next one I sectioned the pattern and pencil shaded all the stitches that I did so I knew where I was. Worked a lot better for me.
I have no experience on 18ct - mostly I work on 14ct with one series done 2/1 on 22ct. Fortunately it wasn’t full coverage so the fullness worked.
That said, I love your courage not only for tackling such a large project but also in reaching out for thoughts and experiences. Brava!
I honestly think your piece looks good. Many stitch 18 count 2 over 1. It does take time to grid, but I find it so much faster in the long run. But everyone has their own opinion. Do what you like the best.
I stitch most of my full coverage 3 over 1 on 20 count. For 25 count I would do 2 over 1 tent or 1 strand full cross.
@@e_craftingincolorado thanks! Yes so far I’m liking the 2/1 tent.
The original seems messy to me.
And I can’t figure out where I messed up (even with fudging the confetti) - makes me not want to do it. If I stayed with original- what do you think I should do to get it going again? Start somewhere else and meet it all up?
I just purchased my first full coverage pattern, but I watch Vani at Thread the Needle. Her favorite fabric count is 18, and she does 2 over 1 full cross. She has several tutorials on how she grids and does her full coverage. I think your project looks great.
Thank you. I’m thinking I might just keep trying the one I started. It’s 18ct 2/1 and I just started at the other side and I’ll meet up to the mess and fudge it. I think I’m overwhelmed is all.
I’ll have to check Vani out. ☺️
Love your stitching . I stitch on 18ct using 1 thread . I find my hand starts to hurt if I use 2 threads. I also use a sew line air pin it disappears after a few days . I hope you find your joy
Thank you! 😊
For some reason my comment disappeared. So, I think your project looks pretty nice. Remember the three feet rule. Do you see anything bothering you, when you stand three feet away from your project?
Did you ever consider 20ct fabric? It's pregridded and one strand might work.
Just have a look at another channel. 'The Needlebugg' works on a piece on 20ct 1x1. You could get an idea.
Happy stitching and greetings from Germany
Thanks so much!! Hello! ☺️
Great idea. I will look from further away. I did start in a different spot so it seems “new” …. We shall see.
I have a full coverage. I bought grided fabric but I haven't gotten out of the first 10 " square. No advice here. But I will follow to see what you do.
😊 Nice! Thank you!
