- During the farewell show aboard the Norwegian Jewel cruise ship, Chris Connor sings "Just Pretend." This was part of the Celebrating the King Event. Each of the Elvis Tribute Artists sang two songs at this midnight show.

His voice is very much like Elvis's, but when we listen to the real singing we realize that he was unique. Elvis's vocal range was out of human standards.
I've been an Elvis fan since 1964, and can't NOBODY match him. But, this guy comes pretty damn close.

Chris isn't good. he's amazing. he has the voice and every movement, expression, every nuance, he nails it. I saw him live and cried my eyes out. There will never be another Elvis but this guy is the next best thing. He is so respectful of Elvis too. He's wonderful. so to all who don't agree, don't listen to him then. I love him!
It's songs like this one that really shows his vocal range to nearly match Elvis'. If you open another TH-cam Window with Elvis singing this song, you can hear the similarities.

@@donnastubbs582 he's English you know? I can't remember the name of the city but it was about an hour from Liverpool (where I live) then we had tickets to see him in Blackpool later in the year but couldn't go so I gave them to a friend.

I was privileged to see Elvis in concert in Portland OR in 1978, when I was 17, a major highlight of my life. My daughter, granddaughter and I saw Chris Connor a few years ago, and we Loved the show. I have seen some of the top Elvis Tribute Artists (ETA's) and Chris is my favourite. He has the voice, the height, the blue eyes, the build, sense of humour, and rapport and humbleness to pull off the Best of the Best in an ETA show. Thank you Chris Connor. Sure hope you will be performing your full show in the Vancouver BC Canada area in 2020. I keep watching for the tickets to go on sale and will be sadly disappointed as one of your biggest fans, if you do not make it out this way. I also told a couple that I met when visiting Memphis about you, and they live in the UK and have purchased tickets for the Liverpool show next year.

Mariontl ... You must have seen Elvis in 1977 or before, because he died 16 August 1977. I saw him in concert in June of 1976. He was great‼️ He sang “Hurt” twice. Amazingly done 👏🏻💫🎤🥰‼️ Chris Connor, to me, is the next best thing to Elvis 👏🏻💫🎤🥰‼️

The most challenging vocal of Elvis' career, this 1970 song... Chris does a good job; heartfelt, not a caricature, a real Elvis music fan, no doubt

This good looking lad in the top three in the world. has the full range. Backing singer behind on the right looks like he's walked on stage and joined the band for a laugh.
This guy is good. Still a difference in his voice that you can hear, but still better than many others I assume!

One of my favourite songs Elvis sung and I remember Chris singing this song live on the cruise, made my hair stand on end. Then after the cruise on a cell phone video, standing at the AMTRAK station in New Orleans watching it with other Elvis fans with uncontrollable tears just streaming down my face
I'm an ETA myself. I've heard Klush,Portmouth,Slaughter,Fontaine,Church,Torres,Cherry. All great ETA's,but,hands down,He's the closet t the king I've ever heard. WOW!!!
I agree ! I was so very fortunate to see Elvis in concert when I was 17 in Portland Oregon, in Nov 1976. I have seen some good Elvis tribute artists but Chris Connor is the Ultimate Best. He has the voice, looks, similar height, build, and eye colour, and the fun personality and sense of humour like Elvis. My daughter, granddaughter and I saw him in North Vancouver BC Canada several years ago. It was not his full show, as he shared half the night with another tribute artist. Would love to see his full show. I told my daughter that Chris Connor is the closest you will get to having an idea of what it was like to see Elvis in concert. He did the 70's Elvis the night we saw him. So Good !

it's because of the way so many ETA's hold themselves and "pretend" they are Elvis. I started out paying tribute to Elvis and 30 other singers back in early 80's so I have been around the block a time or two and have witnessed the negative vibe and cocky ways of so many impersonator's...oops...I mean "eta's" There are a hand full of actual "nice" and humble guys out there not full of themselves, arrogant who are not in it for the "women", attention, $$$ etc. but they are FEW. I was never accepted by the elite b/s leaders in the ETA world b/c I spoke the truth about Elvis and how he and his family were treated so badly in Tupelo, Ms where I have lived for 30 years. I have met many Presley family members and most all Presley family members are treated terrible to this day (some murdered) like Tupelo Sheriff Harold ray Presley (cousin to Elvis) best sheriff ever and taken out by .....well...I better not say here...its TOO MUCH to handle for most.

I think he is one of the 4 absolute best ETAs. Chris Conner, Dean Z, Ted Torres, Diogo Light. I close my eyes and it sounds just like Elvis.

David Wilson @ I agree with you. Ben and Shawn are very good too. However, to me Chris is a natural. Very good voice and he really looks like Elvis on stage. The manerisms are not over the top. He does a great job.
But I have to say, when you hear Shawn talking it is like Elvis, it's eerie. He cracks good jokes too.
It is a lot of hard work for the ETA's. It is amazing to see Elvis is still so much "alive". He never left the building :-)

And I totally agree with Jerry Schilling. (reading his book about Elvis right now). I have seen a number of ETA's and saw Elvis in concert in Portland OR in Nov 1976. Saw Chris in concert a few years ago, and I agree, he is the Best ETA !

Hi Ann. I am from Australia originally, but have lived in Canada now since my mid teens. I totally agree with you that Chris Connor is the Best tribute artist. I have loved Elvis for 48 yrs since the age of 12. I was privileged to see him in concert in Portland Oregon on Nov 26th 1976, when I was 17, a major highlight of my life. Have seen a number of Elvis Tribute Artists (ETA's). For those of you who call them impersonators, please don't - Elvis Tribute Artist is the correct title, because that is what they do - they pay tribute to the one and only Elvis. My daughter and I saw Chris Connor in concert a few years ago in North Vancouver BC and loved his show. Chris Connor has the voice, stage presence, personality, the looks including blue eyes, the height, and REAL sideburns unlike so many other ETA's, and the moves. He is the BEST ETA !
Mariontl hi , oh what a great experience that would have been to see elvis ! I’ve loved him since I was 12 too , and I was 17 when he passed which I remember I cried my heart out. I I went to Graceland in 2013 and I’ve got a little snippet of grass from his lawn in my cupboard, hehe. Chris is great too , nice to hear your story 😁
