And just like the Tardis, there seems to be an infinite number of empty rooms for expansion in this small museum. Is the whole museum in a police box? We need to see an external pic!
@@KeritechElectronics yep,Brain fart in action 🤣🤣🤣she adapted the theme but due to the way the BBC were, it was the composer who got the all credits for years. 1963 and not a synth or keyboard in sight, bloody amazing.
Beat me to it lol. This sounds exactly like the score and sfx for Forbidden planet. It must be the same if not very similar equipment. It just sounds so unique
Wow. I've been to the museum twice already, but this definitely makes me want to take another trip across the channel... I can imagine spending hours in that room! See you soon?
These will usually be off on open days. Just as we want the setup to last as long as possible. But email prior expressing an interest. It's a bit complicated to let folk use on open days but if a compelling project plan then definitely!
This is fantastic Sam can’t wait to hear what you make in this studio, perhaps the addition of morse keys to the setup for some ‘playability’ would be cool, and tape delay of course. hopefully get to visit some day.
I absolutely love everything that you have created over the years, could you possibly create a multi theramin set-up one day please, that would be absolutely amazing, and I think that you're the right person to be able to create that 💜💜💜💜💜
Love your channel, thank you for all the effort you put in. ❤ I have a question about the earthing, do you risk getting any earth hum loops with tying the grounds to the frame, as opposed to earthing in a star configuration?
the voltages are relatively high compared to things like guitars or line level, as these test equipment pieces are running on 12v lines, when line level is less than 12 times that. earth hum is a relatively small problem
In case no one has corrected you, the rendering of the plural should have been "all the Bruel & Kjaers", without the apostrophe. I know, I know - they have left this stuff out of your education since Iron Thatcher royally screwed education. They expect you simply to figure out this crap on your own. "They're native speakers", droned old Maggie and her misanthrope lackeys. "SURELY they'll learn what they need to know through immersion" in the bullshit the austerity types were shoveling (or, as we used to spell it before letters were deemed too pricy to double, "shovelling"). Lucky for you, some of us are old enough English speakers to have been taught the language in a semiorganized way. God bless Amerika, and condemn Flaccid Reagan to spend eternity continuing to ape old Maggie. Thanks for the combined loveliness of the B&K chorus.
How gloriously strange! I've a Bruel & Kjær Accelerometer and its signal conditioner in the loft that you may have. Status unknown. It's vibration test gear - maybe you can get an input by measuring something shaky in the museum? W. Midlands.
How about finishing the Danish laboratory design aesthetics with a pair of Lyrec TR2 valve driven tape recorders coupled as echo machines. They will look nice next to the oscillators as they are build in the same style.
You're going to summon the spirit of Delia Derbyshire with those sounds! Either that, or you'll be haunted by the ghost of David Lynch, and he's still alive! (Have you seen the newer Twin Peaks reboot?)
Freaking awesome! Makes me feel like I did as a kid watching the clangers! So space age! Going to have to come down some point soon, I love everything you're doing, it's really inspiring, great to see.
You are a Genius Sam.. Sounds amazing "like" the real Analog stuff. Dont be surprised.. if Hainbach will nock on your door again soon..😂🎉. Will be abother great collab. 😊
Getting a lot of Tangerine Dream Sorcerer-sound-track vibes form that last part - and I guess the sounds once again are seriously messing with the dreams of my little dog, who, as always, has built his sleeping nest in my bed while I watch youtube... 😁
I have built thesejack to minijack coverters that doesn't ruin your sockets due to the weight. I have like 20cm minijack cable going into a small cylinder that keeps the she normal jack. So now they don't poke straight out, the connections just lie on the table behind, and there is no pull, from the weight of the cable
When I read the title : 'They all speak to each other', I thought you had connected up all the mechanical linkages that some of those B&K units used to use to be driven by the chart recorders. That would be cool if you could get them to track mechanically. 🙂
Got to be careful not to bring down your building with all those oscillators, with the correct resonance frequency you will notice cracks appearing on your walls 😁😁😂😂
Rather than 'Doctor Who', I hear 'The Stone Tape' a British Sci-Fi horror from 1972... listen to this opening sequence by Desmond Briscoe from the BBC Radiphonic workshop, it must be nearly the same equipment Saam is using in this video - th-cam.com/video/h2BPLbhGyQQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gUdPIoaWqzuHcZ3L
This might go over over your head, but some company build EMC filters to be included in your DIY builds, also a Swiss company exists. pretty cool "devices", it's the common connector socket you find on pc's and stuff, but a bit bigger, it''s meant to be included in your "chassis" and designed as such. It includes the common mode choke, XY filter caps and includes the "CE" mark. Everything sold here is obligated to have such filter. The problem: the producer has lots of types, based on the same EMC filter, how to find the right one for this room? Find some one with a spectrum analyzer, knowledge!, to analyze this room. If your wanna go the extra mile.
Sam can you please do recordings of several hours from these generator machine things for people like me with anxiety and insomnia to help us get calm and stuff? Thanks mate.
I imagined this is what alien music sounds like. but, im weird and i looked into spiritual teachings that came from aliens and you would be supprised what they listen to. Apparently for one race anyway, its simplified percussion, since they hear at such a higher frequency detail, the music is very much centered around the power of each hit, since they can hear all the detail and differences, so the strikes are precise to give the resonance that they can appreciate. that is the part they enjoy
thanks jelfs always on the hunt yet! i think 2608 is a measuring amp! very cool but for me sadly not humungously helpful with the setup as the filters have 2608's built in. however you should use it! it will make a good pre amp for things!
What is a Brewlin Chere? I tried to find out what you were really saying by reading the transcript, but the transcript, being apparently automated and unedited, had three different attempts at decoding Broil and Chairs. Or Brawl line jeers. Nothing about the device screams its name or purpose, even. Oh, dumb me. Everybody knows this is referring to Bruel & Kjaer. Doh!
You can't convince me that the Museum isn't located in the Backrooms somewhere with the sheer amount of floorplan changes.
It is quite likely Hainbach will start squatting in your museum when your sequencer is completed.
Awesome! Gave me 70's Dr Who vibes
I got the same eerie feeling
It would be so sick for Sam to score an episode of Doctor Who.
JAMES BOND he's cleary mi6
And just like the Tardis, there seems to be an infinite number of empty rooms for expansion in this small museum. Is the whole museum in a police box? We need to see an external pic!
Exactly the oscillator Delia used.
I'd pay to come and watch you do that for a while. Fascinating sounds, reminds me of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
"🎵Love Connections🎵" is now a favourite "Sam Moment"
Takes me back to the likes of BBC Radiophonic works shop and Delia Derbyshire pioneering electronic sounds and music production, fantastic job.
Wasn't it Delia Derbyshire? The one who made the Doctor Who theme.
@@KeritechElectronics yep,Brain fart in action 🤣🤣🤣she adapted the theme but due to the way the BBC were, it was the composer who got the all credits for years. 1963 and not a synth or keyboard in sight, bloody amazing.
the drone-beep composition is really atmospheric, would be ideal for a film soundtrack starring Barry Keoghan walking down corridors
Sooooo 50’s sci-fi movie sounds!! Awesome!!
The Forbidden Planet
Love the sound, instantly I flash back to “Forbidden Planet” movie from the 50’s
I love it, such a classic Scifi sound, Forbidden Planet vibes, and of course the BBC sound effects thing from the 60s + 70s. Very cool shit
Beat me to it lol. This sounds exactly like the score and sfx for Forbidden planet. It must be the same if not very similar equipment. It just sounds so unique
Alain Goraguer. Apparently died last year😮 but that was a similarly named different movie😂
Reminds me of the soundtrack from Forbidden Planet!
Songs to get abducted by aliens to : Volume 1
I might have to book a flight and come see this museum. This room looks and sounds awesome!
Who wouldn't want a Silver Apples room?
All we need now is some Louis & Bebe Barron - Ancient Krell Music (Forbidden Planet) for that authentic 60's feel.
This video has it all. In 100 years time this will still be the best video on TH-cam. There I predicted it 6-30-24
7 mins 14 is definitely one of the intro sounds on the original Doctor Who Theme. Love it.
Extreme BBC Radiophonic Workshop vibes
In my mind, Spock was nodding his head. "Fascinating.". 😀
ALL i saw there was a TARDIS control room
7:40 I'm getting very strong Forbidden Planet vibes form this. Fantastic!
Wow. I've been to the museum twice already, but this definitely makes me want to take another trip across the channel... I can imagine spending hours in that room! See you soon?

Early Hawkwind vibe
Bebe and Louis Barron territory. The Id monster is coming!
OMG there was was decent sound effects video clips there strait out of a SCI-FI
9:34 The coming of the Martians!
So much War of the Worlds vibes here.
In case of sonic attack on your district, follow these rules….
were all mad here?

Time for some early Hawkwind sounds !!!

This is so cool sounding Sam. Sounds amazing now you have it setup all together. It's a totally unique otherworldly sound it produces. Love it!
That outro......., was that a taste of the coming single: Submarine War?
Somehow aliens had to be introduced…
Look Mum! Forbidden Planet!!!
Hola amigo felicidades, genial, bestial, increíble sonido muy limpio. Un saludo muy grande desde Conil, Cádiz, España.
You're basically the only entertaining person on TH-cam anymore Sam. Thank you!!!
thanks for the sick video dude! cant wait to see what its about
"We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical."
if he goes deep with this music, it will become real 😁
of all the things you've assembled this may be the most mental but also amazing

wow, I feel Ridley Scoth's Alien 8th passenger vibes there , sounds like the Nostromo ...

How many test generators does Sam have? YES
Nice shout out for the Silver Apples album! :)

Man, I wish I had a room like that, I'd spend so many hours in there playing. Just needs more sequencer for those Pan(a)sonic vibes.

I'm very impressed you have no hum , hiss or clicks going on. Excellent electronic workmanship needed to avoid them !

All kinds of bits of things in there including some Pink Floyd.. Great stuff.

How the sounds for Forbidden Planet were made.
Sam can you please do recordings of several hours from these generator machine things for people like me with anxiety and insomnia to help us get calm and stuff? Thanks mate.
I don't know why but I'm pretty sure you could rock make some really impressive sci-fi sounds for planets in horror movies🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I imagined this is what alien music sounds like. but, im weird and i looked into spiritual teachings that came from aliens and you would be supprised what they listen to. Delia Derbyshire had a single octave keyboard with 12 oscillators like this. She was the boss.
Gotta wonder how many of this guys neighbors have killed themselves.
You could do with a Robby the robot next to you to warn of the monster from the Id creaping near when playing with that lot.😊
Noice! Oscillator Sink would never leave.....must say, I would be lost for hours in that room. Patchbay perfection.
Why aren't any of the meditation videos on YT using these harmonic badboys?
Lovely drones from the wall of sines.
Sounds like I’m listening to whales and dolphins underwater. 7:46
Sam, I need to see this room in the dark... Glowing dials and scope trails 😊
Awesome. Kjaer is pronounced 'share.' Because scandinavians.
im pronouncing it in the video how danish B&K employees pronounce it :)
Well, now you can redo the soundtrack to Forbidden Planet!
Sounds like the soundtrack to Forbidden Planet!!
Would it be weird to have a CR80 doing the drums?
i need an album made with this set-up. it just tickles my brain!
gives some "forbidden planet (1956)" vibes
It sounds like Earthbound.
What are they ment to do?
Make music? Like in the video
this is harmonizing so good with my dehumidifier
Are you still collecting B&K stuff? I have a microphone amplifier (2608 I think, without going and looking) going spare...
thanks jelfs always on the hunt yet! i think 2608 is a measuring amp! very cool but for me sadly not humungously helpful with the setup as the filters have 2608's built in. however you should use it! it will make a good pre amp for things!
that sounds amazing - we need more artists to come in and play on this
Sam, how many control rooms do you have already?

Huh
Love the cricket sound and the wind. The great outdoors - indoors!
Welcome to City 17
Bruh
The ultimate maddest lad of ALL TIME !!!!
Yes!! Cant wait to see the updates on this!
Mad Scientistic Thing going on here.
I like it. 😮
sam is definitely in my top 10 mad scientists
Wonderful tones
Anyone else thought of the Pet Shop boys ?
Dude you’re amazing
All im hearing is The Clangers
Proper Forbidden Planet stuff. Awesome
So cool. looks nuclear
It's definitely got the Sixties Radiophonic sounds and very much Delia Derbyshire
Krell music at its best!
Absolute super great construction Sam!!! Connecting all grounds is also so much safer!! Greetings from WTS :-)
amazing!
