    This series of 3 videos is one of the best resources in TH-cam about the path leading to a match into a competitive specialty. Thank you so much to both of you. I want to add that I found it, unlike other videos on this topic, very encouraging or at least not discouraging. I really liked Dr. Panos Approach: A lot of people are going to tell you this is too hard, but if It’s your dream just keep going. Build a strong CV and make yourself a candidate worth considering. Loved it!

    Hi Dr. Assad !
    Love your videos ! I would request you to make a video/videos on the basic research statistics like the ones involved in meta-analysis like you did with Case Report Series, if possible
    Thanks !

    I've a question
    As Dr panos was saying about his research experience in mayo clinic and he was there for two years
    But according to j1 visa you have to return to your home country at least for two years but how did Dr panos lived there after his fellowship in mayo clinic and he matched into neurosurgery residency!!
    Can you please explain!
    Thank you!

      You don't have to go back to your country before you finish your residency

    Can we shift from GS to NS? Coz matching jnto a NS program as A NON US IMG is impossible.
    Also is he an IMG??

    • @MalkeAsaad
      @MalkeAsaad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes he is IMG. Check the first two episodes. The second episode answers your first question

    Do institutes pay during research or I have to financially support myself

    Actually, how many years can you stay away from hospital between your degree and the match? 2-3?

    Sir, can u help me by informing that: In which website should applicants search for a research that is necessary for matching?

    Can I match into neurosurgery residency with high 260+ step scores and no research publications?
    Also , are research publications required for IMG friendly programs??

    great video.
    since i have to be at least 2 years in my own country after elective, can we continue research after we come back to homecountry after doing some research during elective??
    is it possible to publish in us journals those 2 years from home or do anything that contributes to neurosurgery match??
    Because 2 years and 2-3 years after that, its going to be 5 years out of medical school.

    • @MalkeAsaad
      @MalkeAsaad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a very long period that many program directors would not prefer to have in an applicant without clinical experience

    • @Az-xk2wj
      @Az-xk2wj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      those 2 years are as a medical officer not idle.
      is there anything i could do in those 2 years from home that could help??
