- Wanted to share with you guys this legendary 5th scale gas buggy !
The Losi TLR (TEAM LOSI RACING) 5IVE-B Buggy. It comes as a 1/5-scale kit mainly for racers looking to take it to the track! According to Losi "It has been designed from the ground up to the exacting standards of TLR engineering and includes a feature set you simply won't find in anything else like it." "Unlike most so-called 1/5-scale racing buggies, this one comes with a chassis specifically engineered for competition. Inspired by the legendary TLR 8IGHT platform, it is machined from hard-anodized, 5mm 6061-T6 aluminum and features a shorter wheel base for better handling. It also has milled pockets that save weight and allow enough flex for maximum traction under hard acceleration"
This is what Losi had to say, but what i can tell you from my experience is that this rc gas buggy is one of the best handling 1/5 scale rc cars I've driven. It is an absolute tank that can take a serious beating whether bashing or on the track! Normally track built rc cars are fragile when it comes to bashing on non track prepped terrain. This Buggy seems to handle anything you throw its way. Such a shame that it's discontinued. I really do wish RC fans still had the option to purchase this kit because i feel people are missing out on a savage beast! It feels so nimble and light not like a standard 5th scale at all!

Own 7 gassers, My 5B with 34OBR reed and 2 speed is in another class from the rest! My wheelbase measures 510mm instead of more common 570+. At 34lbs fueled and short wb., it still handles really well.

The 5b was good maybe 8 years or more ago. There now considered slow on the track. They just can't compete against elcon FG and mcd. Due to the 5b weight but was great car back in the day it had plenty of wins. It' will definitely be remembered. 👌
Thanks for the info ! For some reason i love the way the 5b suspension works more than my mcd makes it more capable to absorb anything and hence more fun for pure bashing ! im not sure if id still feel that on a track ! never tried an elcon!
@@carbonelement77 elcon are number 1 in the world of offroad track racing once you drive one you will understand. Mcd suspension takes abit of time to get right but once you get it there a dream to drive. 👌

I recently hit myself with the dbxle and hurt myself bad. It happened so fast. I find I'm now somewhat nervous when I run the big cars. Careful guys.

Nabih! appreciate your content greatly! Really considering picking one of these up. Being that it's discontinued, are there any parts that you have trouble finding? is it similar enough to the 5ive-T platform that you can find parts easily?

Honestly it is a scavenger hunt to find parts because some parts are totally different, but regardless you should definitely get one ! Hopefully we can push this video to make Losi bring it back !

If you live in a cooler climate they are great, otherwise they over heat a lot my mates have them in Australia no good on warm days... Something to consider
