I'm finally done with the build and I'm really happy with how it turned out. There're many repeating elements and sections, so this one will actually be "easier" than most builds, when it comes to creating a tutorial around it. But because time is limited, you will have to brace yourselves with a bit of patience. Halloween is coming up very soon and I have something I want to have ready in time. I completely understand that you're eager to build all of the cathedrals and castles I release, and I'm amazed that so many of you are willing to go through with it. Just incredible. But between other Minecraft projects, sudden projects for my main line of work coming up and cluttering my calender, and other private stuff, it's very difficult to keep up with demand. But if you're willing to stay around, the tutorials will come in time. It's a marathon not a sprint. The Mausoleum has been highly requested and others too, I haven't forgotten that. The list of all the things I want to do with the channel is so long and is getting bigger all the time. As was the case the last couple of month, sometimes I post less. But there's nothing I want to do more than making builds and videos for the the channel, so hopefully this can become my main line of work some day, so I can build even more. Thank you for all the nice comments and all the support.
Oh, i'm sticking around for good! Even if you choose not to make any more tutorials, I will still watch every one of your videos, in awe of your building prowess
The mud bricks are the unsung heros of this build lol. And Not just because it's my favorite block in the game. But it goes so nicely with the Blackstone! Amazing as always.
You're always surprising with your very own and recognizable style, it's just crazy ! Each time we think that you got the climax of your building level and the end of the possibilities and each time ... we're just captivated ... Congratulations and I hope you'll always give us a new way of seeing architecture, in minecraft but so much further !
Thank you so much, truly! I'm so glad that you're inspired by my builds. I want to create many more going forward and I'm glad you're here for the journey. 🙂
I can see the inspiration in Palma de Mallorca Cathedral. I loved the choice of color palette, because it conveys something mysterious, obscure but also magical, quite in keeping with the medieval fantasies we make and imagine. I simply loved this construction!!!
Aesome that you saw the inspiration! It has a really distinct look I just love. I also tried to pay homage to the Moorish architecture that influenced Andalusian architecture, specifically the checkered arches you see in a lot of churches. I used that reference for the interior pillars. Even though it isn't a direct reference, it still gives those vibes I think.
Oh my goodness. I am not sure what it was about this build, but I had tears in my eyes as I watched this. All I can do is shake my head and take a big breath. Just absolutely Gorgeous - but even beyond that. Thank you for sharing. It captured something I have no words for! So I'll just sit and be quiet for a bit.
Your videos are as always mesmerizing! One has to appreciate the amount of effort you surely put into making all this. The angles, the timelapse, the music, it is all so well done! It is clear that each of your creations is made with love, every block serves a purpose, and everything is put together perfectly and presented with care. I am inspired by your builds and by your videos. Would you consider explaining how you chose your palettes?
Thank you! That means so much to me. I never knew that I would enjoy making videos as much as I love designing architecture. Really good question. The initial colors I choose for a build, usually has some kind of real world reference. but it's not necessarily something I think too much about. I tend to go by instinct a lot of times, as vague as that sounds. For this build I wanted a warm limestone look, reminiscent of spanish cathedrals, but with the dark weathered effect.I took that to a more extreme level, by using oak to give a warm saturated look, and deepslate for a darker look than what would be realistic in this context. Let's face it, you would probably need more smoke than the small house chimneys can provide, to darken the stone to Cologne Cathedral levels. For the specific blocks, I tend to be a bit conservative when it comes to the number of block types I use. I lean heavily on fences, walls, stairs and iron bars and use those blocks in different variations, to create detail together with "standard" blocks. While other builders add barrels, camp fires etc.. Blocks I typically don't use as much. I also tend to only use a couple of different blocks types when texturing, while others might use a more varied palette. I tend to use the minimum amount to get the gradients I want. Hope that helps.
@@SixWings Your texturing style really helped me improve mine! And also, limiting myself in terms of block types was an integral part of me lerning how to build. I started with small swamp and jumgle villager houses, and now am moving on to quasi-Victorian houses haha
Absolute masterpiece. Love the cathedral/gothic touches - the rose and ornate windows, the delicate spires, the flying buttresses... And just when I think the structure couldn't possibly get any taller, it does. The cherry trees were the perfect finishing touch. Those fireworks, too. Your details are phenomenal. Always a delight to watch your work.
Thank you. There's a command where you spawn them without A.I. Here's the command I use. The second command is for rotating the villagers. So -90, 90 or 180 would be the three options. The first command would be the fouth. And of course, remember to put in the right coordinates. /summon minecraft:villager -76 65 -190 {NoAI:1b} /summon minecraft:villager -76 65 -190 {NoAI:1b,Rotation:[-90F,0F]}
I love your builds so much, they are true masterclass, and the way you present them in the videos is just magical. I feel awed and happy just looking at them. Thank you so much for sharing them!
Fantástico es admirable el nivel de detalle en tus construcciones espero algún día hagas la réplica de la ciudad prohibida o de algún otro monumento 👍🏻🙏🏼
The details and scale are insane and the texturing really brought it alive. Not to mention the proportions are so good. You are such an inspiration my guy. I haven't played MC for a few months due to work but I always find myself looking back at your builds for ideas when I wanted to build something. Keep up the stupendous work!
I was originally drawn to your channel because of the Dragon Palace build and fell in love with it. I feel the same way about this build. It looks absolutely stunning in every way. And since you've made tutorials before, do you think you'll make a tutorial for this masterpiece? Either way, keep up the good work. I might even take the time to replicate one of your incredible works myself. ❤
I loved the absolute astounding amount of thought that went into this. From the level of understanding with the architecture of the build, the floor patterns, and I LOVE the way you build trees with long draping branches like willow trees. Your editing was on point, as well! I want to live here!
I am a builder in Minecraft myself - it helps relieve the serious stress of my day job. Your builds are worthy to be backdrops in movies with how intricate and detailed they are. I eagerly await the tutorials you publish, and I am so honored and humbled that you choose to share your magnificent architecture with us! Can't wait to build some of these edifices (with my own tweaks because I am like that) and spread the word of your channel through your art. Keep on building breathtakingly beautiful and amazing things! 🥰
I wish my dad would allow me to support your patron , the builds look so great and a lot would perfectly fit into my world , until I can , keep up the work
This is an amazing build, I recently build a cathedral to celebrate the 8 year anniversary of my survival single player world and as part of a larger project including a big tradinghall. The atmosphere Minecraft has in combination with big medieval builds are magic. Keep up the great work!
I love how intentional your use of minecraft as a media for your art is. A lot of people seem to fight the confines of minecraft and force organic shapes that the viewer has to make allowances for. They are beautiful too, don't get me wrong, but they also feel like the builds would look very different if the creator painted them instead. Like if someone wanted to make pixel art so they just reduced the resolution on a piece instead of making the pixel art directly and intentionally. Generally, and especially with your more architectural builds, your builds look like they belong in minecraft and the organic elements seem to fit within the environment of the game. I think that's also why your builds look so phenomenal up close while you are exploring them as well as far away. You build to the media instead of against it and that's just so awe inspiring.
As always, you have the most stunning, architecturally gorgeous builds I have ever seen in this game. Blown away time and time again. You are so fantastically creative and should be exceptionally proud of what you continue to create.
Love how you built with the natural terrain with very little terraforming! Love the build also!! Love how cinematic it all is! Actually, I just love everything about this! Nice work!! It's very inspirational!
Thank you! Personally I really like finding locations and building for that context specifically. Sometimes I do some terraforming, but I'm not a big fan of it. Some builders are really good at it and create some impressive settings.

I have a test world where I test out ideas with WorldEdit and this cathedral was designed before the timelapse. But most of the buildings and towers were impovised on location. The Emberheart Castle basically wasn't planned at all. Only a couple of simple sketches before building.
magnificent ! i love gothic so much and this is absolutely gorgeous. the only critique i have is maybe making the shape of the cathedral slightly more complex to disrupt the long flat sides even though you absolutely killed it with the detailing overall it looks a little flat. maybe making the cathedral cross or t shaped or whatever wouldve looked slightly better but dont get me wrong its already stunning !
Thank you! Palma de Mallorca Cathedral was the main inspiration. Very distinct and different from spanish gothic cathedrals in general, so I understand your initial instinct.
