as a Carlton supporter, we went through 2018 where we pretty much had our whole season performing like this and being a young side. I WISH Bolton spoke this well when confronting the media. The way Mitchell speaks, is making me get excited for your future. Hope we have a Carlton v Hawthorn granny soon.
100% I'm a Hawks fan and I rmb the Blues getting smashed every week and having a haul of first round draft picks with nothing to show. But now look what they're capable of doing. Hawks are in a similar situation. Some of these folks may be a bit jealous that Harley Reid will end up at the club and absolutely terrorise the competition. This could be Dusty all over again, and he has 3 premierships to show himself!

From the players who departed, not including Gunston who we offered a new 2 year contract to and wanted to stay, only Mitchell & O'Meara had it in them to be starting 22 players this year. They were also the two players deemed to represent the biggest drawback to our midfield, most notably expressed by Kane Cornes in May last year. I'd like some clarity as to how playing Mitchell & O'Meara across the opening 2 rounds instead of Worpel and McKenzie would have changed the results in any solid way, particularly given our biggest woes are at the two ends of the ground at the moment? An extra 4-5 wins across the year from keeping and playing Mitchell & O'Meara, talk about having a larf.
Hahaha ikr! When Titch & Jaeger were here they were berating us for not winning the midfield and it costing us games. Now that they're gone they turn to the tanking excuses. All they do is seek for an opportunity to criticise. Idk about you, but as a Hawks fan I'm willing to give up all the players we did (except Gunners) to not have those 4 or 5 wins, finish last and get Harley Reid. Tanking or not who gives. NM keep getting wooden spoons but they were never excused of it..
It was only a year ago we SMASHED the 2022 Premiers on Easter Monday. Things can turn around fast.

@@noproblama9971 True..Kosi's left alot to be desired from his last perfomances. Hawthorn needs to find another forward from its own ranks or through the mid season draft.. otherwise all the opportunities comings from the mid fielders are just being wasted too easily..

The season is two games old, Hawthorn is feilding a team of young players to put games in them. Come week 11 the team will be a miles ahead of where it is now.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, fielding Jaeger O'Meara and Tom Mitchell week after week hasn't worked for the last three years. So why would Hawthorn carry on trying it?

Why is Sam on FC regularly? Why is he on SEN regularly? It goes against 50 years of Hawthorn tradition - keep the power of our culture INSIDE the club. Hawthorn have always been the quiet achievers - our coaches aren't media performers. Sam is burning his candle down (his time as coach) doing these interviews, getting that exposure, and for what?
He's addressing pressing concerns in the media with poise and tenacity. Nothing over the top, not bragging - just addressing the majors and moving on.
Because hawk's are the most powerful most successful club in history and everyone wants to no and learn from! Since we joined the league we have won double the cups than canyons else! Thanks to Kennedy snr and Leigh Matthews ! Barny is always at the club supporting them and Kennedy was in hawk's scarf and standing with Clarko and team when his grandson was in swans colors in 2014! Loyalty! Brown for dirt , down to earth and gold for cups!

Hawks supporters should be "comforted" by 50 years of success and by us maintaining that culture - but Sam is doing far too much differently from the Kennedy mold and school.

You're clearly tanking. If not and you're genuinely trying to win games then your coach and backroom staff are really bad at their jobs. So which is it? Are you trying to win and are that bad at it or are you not trying to win. You all know the truth, we all do.
We aren't tanking. We're rebuilding premiership form by getting younger players to be more experienced over time. Some teams will have half young inexperienced, half 'old' experienced. But in a few years, we'll have young, experienced, very well team players
I guess 5 other clubs are tanking too then.
