  • This song is based on the character Kalam Mekhar from the bookseries Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson.
Kalam Mekhar is an assassin, originally from Seven Cities, who had been among the Claw's best before a falling out. He is tall, broad shouldered, almost bear-like in appearance. He moves effortlessly with a certain grace despite his girth.

I love Kalam so much, he's definitely one of my top Malazan characters and him and Quick Ben are such a great duo!!

They are probably my favorites too! I love the way they seem to understand eachother without much communication :)

Really cool song ! If you loved Kalam in Gardens of the Moon, you're not ready for Deadhouse Gates man

that is a beautiful interpretation for Kalam Mekhar. The Malazan Book of the Fallen is an awesome series!
for the next song - do you know "The Blade Itself" from Abercrombie? Inquisitor Glokta is worthy of a song, I think.

Thank you very much! I recently finished Gardens of the Moon (and planning to read the rest of the series). Funny enough I just started The Blade itself. Today I read chapter one and Glokta seems like an awesome crazy fellow. Good inspiration for a song! What music genre would you prefer for The Blade Itself songs?

@@thedarkcomposer that is difficult to decide for me. Like the Malazan Book of the Fallen, the Blade Itself is epic (way less books tho ^^) so I would want to hear some of the epic-ness in the music.
The characters are a very mixed bunch. It says something that someone in Glokta's line of work is one of the good(ish) ones. Well, no, not good. Principled, maybe? Ugh. Anyway, this wild ride through all the grey areas should also be in it.
I feel that there could be metal vibes in there. Dark and thrumming base. Logan Nine fingers would probably have gotten something with strong drums. Jezal probably something with a violin-gone-wrong. But Glokta? Hehe.
It's a cool series, those books. Enjoy!

@@fiftypercentgrey Thanks! I will definitely make some songs about the series and I like your suggestions, seems fitting! Keep an eye out for those 😁
