From an 82 year old great grandmother, who through her whole life chose shades of beige for whatever needed painting, I congratulate you. It is definitely vintage because that blue is seen on vintage travel trailers of that era. I so enjoy your family and your videos. You make me smile!
Love it!!!!! Great family team work as usual and good music. Mobile home looks AWESOME! ❤ Smart move to cover the blades....less clean up....atta girl Ashley for thinking of that!❤
That paint job is cool, it looks great!!!!! I love the jobs that you two do on everything, you go the extra mile to change it if you don't like what you did first and I appreciate that. There's nothing like doing a job over again it's just so hard that second time so hats off to you both. Job well done !!!!!!!!
I never mentioned it to you guys, but secretly thought that this old mobile home was a lost cause when you first took it on. I’m so happy you’ve proved me wrong. Through your hard work and perseverance, this home is going to have a new life and be useful for many years to come. The paint job is terrific and you are all doing a fantastic job.
My husband kept saying the same thing. He just sees their videos briefly, as he walks by to get to work on one of his own fix up and repair projects. I will be glad to see what he thinks as time goes on. They are doing a great job.
I couldn't agree more about the blue accent - it's like a delightful pop of color that brings the whole space to life! Mid-century modern interior - it's the perfect blend of classic/vintage and contemporary.
The painting brought back memories. The first video of yours I saw made me a huge fan. You guys were painting a red section on a white mobile home. Then it rains and the red runs and you just moved on and fixed it, no drama, just moved forward. I have so much respect for your take on life.
Ah, memory's I've been with you from the start. So glad your out for the cold. I left Indiana, but where you were was so cold long than Indiana. I did Oklahoma.
That video really show how much work can be done in just a few days .That grin you have Doug, when you do something (sneaky) is priceless. Belle is really growing up ,and is part of the unit now,she is not going to surprise anyone by doing so well in her future endeavours, which we are all looking forward to. ❤.
I thought the black was a bad idea because of how black soaks up heat. Sounds like you have that covered and I’ve learned to trust your design ideas. The white trailer you trimmed in red taught me that.
It looks like FLORIDA!! Lol. It has an awesome "tropical " feel. I must admit, I was shocked at first, with the black....but it has grown on me and I love it with the blue. Nice job as always guys!
Ms Ashley is always thinking of a easier & better way!! Mobile home is looking Amazing Mr Doug & Ms Ashley! Awesome to see Maverick & Ms Belle helping out! Great color choice, 💯
Oh, my goodness, what a transformation! This ain't no run-down, ready-to-junk trailer any more. She's a beaut!! If mobile homes could preen, she'd be doing it, and she's the star of the neighborhood now! Don't know if you're planning a porch for the front door, but a covered porch with natural-stained wood and hefty posts would really set this old girl off!! Great choice of color, and great job done!
nice, makes an old mobile home actually look modern. although with all the work your putting into it, it basically is a new mobile home in an older shell
Greetings from Texas. The house colors are actually quite nice. It reminds me of the art-deco architecture you see when visiting Miami. The colors are stark but apropos for your environment. Congrats on thinking outside the box - as you usually do. Doug and Ashley, you two are amazing. Blessings and good karma to the four of you. Hugs from Midland, Tx.
My neighbor painted her house black, which I originially thought was to much, but she also planted a garden and when the plantings got going, everything popped and the house softened and now I love it.
I am absolutely fascinated by the strong reactions to your choice of colors. It's your house and your choice! Goodness. Of all the major projects you've undertaken on this house and property so far, this is, after all the easiest to undo, should it turn out these colors weren't ideal. Or, to retouch, should they fade over time. Personally, I think it fits this mobile home perfectly, and I'm impressed by how well the white, blue and black work together.
Black exterior paint absorbs about 70-90% more heat (than white paint which reflects sun light much better), then transfers that heat to the inside of your home, so I'm always impressed when people own up and still decide to paint their house black, living in a hot climate. Insulation and barrier will help a bit, so I guess we'll see ("feel") how this turns out, once all is said and done. Can't wait for the results. Theory vs practice!
The reflectix heat barrier we'll be installing blocks over 95% of radiant heat, so it's like the black isn't even there. It won't be a problem. We've used radiant barriers and they are a great product.
Those panel tools Ash and Belle are using are amazing. Painting the exterior walls sure makes a difference. Love it. The blue color you selected is way better than the baby blue. Now it looks less like an old mobile home. It is now more of a modern mobile home.
First let me say that the paint job turned out great! I would never have chosen the black and teal…I actually think it’s ugly. But I also recognize that if we all had the same taste in color, it would be a very boring world. You do you and don’t worry about what others think about your choices.
Love.. Love.. Love the colors!! It truly looks like Florida! Y'all r doing a great job! I really hope the underpinning will cover that big rusty i-beam under the bay window. If not, please paint it black.
Love it!!! Keep with the vintage theme inside too. I redid the outside of my house with dark forest green, none could see my vision until it was finished and now everyone loves it.
The splash of color reminds me of your bus. I do like it. Makes me smile and perfect Florida color. We lived in Marion County, Florida for awhile and Florida colors are good memories.
I love what you folks did with the outside. I think it falls in the "vintage" catagory. Can't wait till you get started back on the inside. I'm the one that told you about the porch swing and still mean it if you're ever come through, or near, the Ky. area. I've actually forgot where you were on your regular house. Looking forward to some more videos on it's work.
Love the black. The blue not so much. My preference would have been more towards a light gray, but like the wife said to compliment the mobile home and not hide. BTW the tape idea was such a great idea for the paint edgers!! Looking forward to your DIYfferent take on the skirting!
Your color choices are a pleasant surprise! I can envision this with the skirting on, a deck, beautiful flowers blooming and a few ornamental, flowering trees .... it'll be a wonderful palette when you're finished. So looking forward to see what you do inside! ❤ 🖤🤍🩵🌳🌷🪻🌻🌺
I like the aqua type teal color...looks good. Being Florida, Ive seen the teal with white shutters, coral color with white shutters. Tropical look....😊
Black was a good choice. I live in Arizona and 3 years ago I spray painted my metal patio furniture. It looked beautiful when I finished. It covers well and makes things look new. But what I was really worried about was how it would last. The furniture still looks new.
I love it ! But I love most of your Choices. The Black will not show all the dirt running down the side when it rains and the Blue is coming back , it is so popular right now. The Turquoise Color and the Seafoam Green are really popular right now at the Paint Stores. It gives it a Retro Beachy Vibe to me. Good Idea , Kind of Old Age and Modern all in one if that makes sense.
Definitely a Retro Florida style. nice job! You can paint it whichever color scheme you choose. In the end, it's all about the process and doing the things you love ❤️
Well, you’re definitely not afraid to try unusual colors. I’m glad you like it. I think the black makes it look cheap. Not anything I would want. And I do think the black will be very hot in such a sunny location. At least whoever ends up living there will have a clean and properly repaired home.
Black! yes! my grandparents had a place in Florida and i remember i just couldn't go out by the pool with my eyes open...all that white. was waaaaaay to intense for my sensitive eyes. we'd fly from Oregon to visit---not used to that brightness, i guess. it was painful. i was barely seeing through my lashes and my eyes would not adjust to it at all. i spent very little time out there on our visits. i had some sunglasses but in the 70s they were just some weak blue or grey glass. i now have to use corning lenses in my sunglasses. so i get it...white is a very harsh color down there. (that retro pop of blue...nice )
It's so mid century modern. Great choices of colour. Black will also show any planting /decks etc as it will recede into the background. I am loving it. Love from the UK 🇬🇧 Great job guys.
The color is pretty, but I would not have went that direction because Florida is hot. My house was dark brown the first summer I lived here and it would bake in the California summer sun (I live in Redding, really hot here, we're talking triple digits all summer long). I decided to get bright white paint for my entire exterior. I painted everthing white, and my roof is also a light sage green. I love it. It reflects so much heat, and that is what I am going for. Considering it is mobile home with limited insulation that could be s problem without shade trees. It does look really sharp, though. But if anyone else is reading this comment, you might want to consider the region you live in and sun exposure before making such a bold choice. Congrats on the beautiful job you're doing
The reflectix bubble radiant barrier we'll be using blocks at least 95% of the radiant heat, so it won't be a problem. We've used it in various spots at our main house and it made a huge difference. It's a wonderful product.
Why so dark in the hot Florida sun??? That is going to make harder to cool in the summer! You guys haven't lived in the South long enough. Those radiant barriers do not work as well as they do in the Northern states. I does however look really good. Great job on the restoration of this home!
We installed the radiant barriers in our porch roofs and our enclosed trailer workshop and it made a huge difference here. It worked like it says it does.
From an 82 year old great grandmother, who through her whole life chose shades of beige for whatever needed painting, I congratulate you. It is definitely vintage because that blue is seen on vintage travel trailers of that era. I so enjoy your family and your videos. You make me smile!
We love the two tone color. We love your videos
😊😊❤😂❤
3 tones 😁

Fantastic! I was not expecting these colors. How awesome!!

Now I’d call this color scheme vintage/retro. It really does work with the home, great surprise!
Ohhh,
That looks so vintage. Very Cool!! You all rock!!!
No apologies! This little mobile home is saying "I am proud of what I am," and shows it off. It makes me smile.
I couldn't agree more about the blue accent - it's like a delightful pop of color that brings the whole space to life! Mid-century modern interior - it's the perfect blend of classic/vintage and contemporary.
The color gives the trailer sort of a “Frank Lloyd Wright” style, incredibly unique!!!
Ummm no,,I also have to disagree!
Bravo! Perfect 1960's Floridian Kitch! Brilliant!💙

Definitely vintage! Love the color combo! It’s really cool how the windows all but disappear ❤
Are you sure thats the same mobile home? Heehee. I love that Florida shade of blue. Perfect crisp upbeat colors. What a pleasant surprise!
Looks Mid-Century Modern and I just love the colors!
I thought the black was a bad idea because of how black soaks up heat. Sounds like you have that covered and I’ve learned to trust your design ideas. The white trailer you trimmed in red taught me that.
I LOVE black houses!!!! And the blue adds a touch of vintage to it. I hope you add a covered porch with wood posts!!!
It looks like FLORIDA!! Lol. It has an awesome "tropical " feel. I must admit, I was shocked at first, with the black....but it has grown on me and I love it with the blue. Nice job as always guys!
Thanks!
Ms Ashley is always thinking of a easier & better way!! Mobile home is looking Amazing Mr Doug & Ms Ashley! Awesome to see Maverick & Ms Belle helping out! Great color choice, 💯
Doug and Ashley, It’s nice to see how your family pulls together.

Vintage? Nope. Modern? Nope. Weird? Nope. It's DIYfferent!😁 I think it looks GREAT! Can't wait to see it all done!
nice, makes an old mobile home actually look modern. although with all the work your putting into it, it basically is a new mobile home in an older shell
You all remain absolutely magnificent. Keeps me transfixed.
Was not sold on the black BUT... with the white & blue blocking, it's stunning. Makes me excited to see where that leads on the interior styling. 👍🏆

It’s very classic retro chic! Maybe a bit of Mid-Century modern/Palm Springs vibe👍🏻I love the choices you made. Thanks for sharing👏🏻👏🏻🙂
Really love the three colors .
I hear that house happily saying, "Wow! Look at me NOW!"
I love it! Congrats on reaching this amazing milestone, guys! So exciting!
Teamwork makes the dream work! AWESOME!
My neighbor painted her house black, which I originially thought was to much, but she also planted a garden and when the plantings got going, everything popped and the house softened and now I love it.
I have to say, I was hoping for grey but it is certainly DIYfferent.
I know whatever you do is done thoughtfully and the work is always first class. Excellent choices.
Love it! Looks retro 50’s to me with the teal added in. It would be so cool to go with that theme inside!
This the only channel on utube that don't beg for money in use there subscribers no drama
I think I’m most excited about this color!
I have loved my black board and baton with black windows.
It’s brilliant 🎉
When you said " Bet you weren't expecting that", I had to laugh, that's exactly what I said to myself. It looks GREAT! Love the colors!
Wow!! Didn’t see that color comin’! 😂 very vintage!
I threw my hands in the air and said: YES .... YES .... YES !!! The choice in colour is FANTASTIC...
Retro, that’s what it looks like to me. Some people really are into retro design. Looks great!👍
I like the charcoal colour. Very modern and clean
Yes I see the difference Doug and Ashley it's a pop of color and it's beautiful. Love Y'ALL take care ❤❤❤❤
That share of blue was late 50’s,early 60’s. Mid century modern for the win.
👍👍 Now I am very curious to see the skirting choices 😉
Coming in with a thumbs up! It’s good to see ya’ll I’m sure this will be transformative
Paint color gives me "mid century modern" vibes.
I am absolutely fascinated by the strong reactions to your choice of colors.

Looks awesome! Maybe 50’s vintage
It feels Floridian and vintage with a modern twist. I once had an apt. With all turquoise appliances and a turquoise sink! It was beautiful.
Love it! Wow!! Bold choice!! Fantastic!! I love black and dark gray home and the pop of blue really sets it apart!!
I am so impressed by your painting techniques!
Much, much, calmer better looking, then all black
Looks great, you are a hard working couple. It fun to watch for what comes next.
Those panel tools Ash and Belle are using are amazing. Painting the exterior walls sure makes a difference. Love it. The blue color you selected is way better than the baby blue. Now it looks less like an old mobile home. It is now more of a modern mobile home.
The Paint LOOKS so COOL ! Nice touch with the Turquoise!
Retro!! Love it!! The paint blades were a great idea, sure beats taping.
First let me say that the paint job turned out great!

Looks a little art deco, never would have guessed black,✌️
It's your house and I'm glad you like it. I wouldn't even consider renting it--I could not come home to black and blue every day.
Amazing beautiful paint job ❤it
Love the background music…..I’ve you all too. Mobile home is looking great!
I love it. Looks both modern and retro.

Huge difference, looks so good.
I love it. I say it looks vintage with that pretty blue.
Love the colors. Yes, it has a vintage vibe. Hope you put a white deck on.
It looks very vintage! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Can’t wait to see what you all do with the inside.

It needs a turquoise 57 Chevy parked in the driveway!
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bold, daring, GENIUS!!! I absolutely LOVE IT ! (I'm sitting here clapping and whooping!) IT IS SOOOOO COOL!!

Love the pop of color. The black and white helps make the color stand out.
