Fun fact: If Lewis had failed his attic dodgeroll he would have taken 1d8+1d6 of damage, and if that takes him to 0 endurance the monster drags him up and rips out his heart, before throwing his corpse back down the hatch. Oh, and did i hear The Majors last name is "Smithe"? Please tell me theres more father-son roleplay between Simon and Lewis coming 😂
I love the image of all these old people and a camera man setting up an elaborate ritual and home alone traps for hours downstairs, just for the demon to fly out of the attic window, avoiding all of them. Can't wait to see how it wraps up next episode, love you Mr. Tom Mystery Quest!
I actually ran this module for my group, only two players showed up, so I needed an NPC to help them out... DR. Armitage showed up in the second half with a blunderbuss and saved them... Still one of my favourite moments of all time as a Keeper of Arcane Lore
They were failing badly, and had no real hope, all seemed lost then BANG! The bear was blown open from behind by the grizzled occult professor, viscera rained forth from the gaping wound as he approached and took his place maintaining the fire.
Man, Archie's film is ABSOLUTELY gonna end up in the Miskatonic Library's Forbidden Section. "Mmm, yes, that one... A middling film director shot it just before he went mad."
Maybe he actually makes some cursed movie that the book is part of, and makes people mad. Then starts distributing it in theaters just for money eventually becoming some kinda crazy mouth of madness scenario.
I think this specific cast of characters has *just* the right mix of competence and stupidity to make it my favourite CoC group so far. This channel really is all killer no filler
Tom is a national treasure and we all must protect him. Tom; if you're reading this, if anyone gives you trouble I'll hit em with my sword. Let me know if you ever need a kidney or an ungodly amount of homemade baked goods 😊
I am leaving this comment to appease the internet spirits! I'm really enjoying the slightly slower pace, I think it gives the characters and players more room to breathe, and it builds suspense. Also while the cursed tape is super cursed of course, that was very clever and helpful, having it handy!
I love all this edging in the darkness, great series so far, it's real spooky and I have a feeling that it's only going to get worse in the next episode!
So I just ran my first call of Cthulhu game with This very scenario! It was so much fun. I absolutely cannot wait for the next episode. It's going to be such chaos!
While I could dream on nothing better than a series starring Dr Coconuts. I also remember what Harry and Ben did to their monkey in Rimworld. Dr Cocnuts is too pure for this world, just like Mr and Mrs Miggins.
The editing on these are always so fucking good. I think basically whenever the old guy gets close to death the bindings weak enough that the demons like yes I am free. He flies as far out and kills the biggest thing he can and then 1920s Medicine by the old guy like a couple days more. And the ruins and bindings suck the demon back in and he's like fuck you 1920s doctors
The sound effects in this episode were top notch, not unlike every other one; but regardless. Something about the small little effects really hit on this one.
I love your COC series, they're always the best. I just finished going back through and watching all of the older Yogs Cthulu episodes and the Mystery Quest ones. I'm glad that it is a staple that will keep coming back
Just want to say thank you guys so much for your COC sessions! I loved COC but I never knew it could be so fun like how you guys play it. Once I feel brave to run a COC game, I really hope I can make my players enjoy it too.
Recently played through this with my group (I'm a very new keeper). Been super interesting seeing others play through the same story. My players were far less lucky with the attic.
Amazing episode glad to see the majors skills come into effect. Hopefully... Is all coming togethers. Some very funny moments. Cant wait to see next episode. and whatever chaos may occur.
Definitely my favourite actual play TTRPG show/podcast at this point! I have decided it’s finally time to start doing fan-art of all the Call of Cthulhu player groups, and I started with Edge of Darkness. Is there a way to send the fan-art directly?
I have been wondering about what Call of Cthulhu is. I started dnd back in early eighties and recently DCC, MCC, and paladium. After this I think I would like to get a group together and run some games for Cthulhu. This group here is great. They do comedy but not too much like my current group jokes too much. Such a great narratoring GM for these videos.
Dr Coconuts, noooo!
The absolute tug on my heartstrings
I fell in love as soon as I heard his name.
Dr Coconuts better be showing up as a character in one of these
Not my long time friend, companion and ofttimes lover! xD
Interesting to note: his doctorate is honorary, and he was indirectly responsible for you being marooned 🤔😐
1:03:17 10/10 timing and delivery by Ravs
the way the music cut out when mrs miggins couldn't pronounce 'nyalafloptep' chefs kiss
The William Tell overture whenever the Major is doing something is amazing
Fun fact: If Lewis had failed his attic dodgeroll he would have taken 1d8+1d6 of damage, and if that takes him to 0 endurance the monster drags him up and rips out his heart, before throwing his corpse back down the hatch.
Oh, and did i hear The Majors last name is "Smithe"? Please tell me theres more father-son roleplay between Simon and Lewis coming 😂
I'LL NEVER LEAVE YOU DR. COCONUTS!!!
Tom's beard slowly progressing towards that of a wizard of old, is quite pleasing.
It’s a beard befitting of Michael Paradise. Nigel would be jealous.
I love the image of all these old people and a camera man setting up an elaborate ritual and home alone traps for hours downstairs, just for the demon to fly out of the attic window, avoiding all of them. Can't wait to see how it wraps up next episode, love you Mr. Tom Mystery Quest!
I mean... the traps were more about keeping something out than keeping the demon in so they're still doing their job.
'Arry fumbling Nyarlathotep at 36:35 has big "Ash fumbling the Necronomicon chant in Army of Darkness" energy hahahaha
Love it

Please have Lewis on here as much as possible, he is a absolute delight in these.
I also want more Lewis!
The goddamn jungle survival and William Tell Overture broke me down laughing. Keep up the amazing work!
🎉😂
You hear “ope, just gotta scoot past ya der bud” before something knocks you to the ground!
"Just out for a rip are ya, bud?"
Oh man, the use of music in this one is OUTSTANDING - kudos to the editor!
🎉🎉
I love the sanity-sapping nightmare fuel movie they created!
Man, Archie's film is ABSOLUTELY gonna end up in the Miskatonic Library's Forbidden Section. "Mmm, yes, that one... A middling film director shot it just before he went mad."
if I’ve learned anything from this, it’s that I should dunk my perception skills if I ever decide to roll up a cameraman 😂
Maybe he actually makes some cursed movie that the book is part of, and makes people mad. Then starts distributing it in theaters just for money eventually becoming some kinda crazy mouth of madness scenario.
I love how they were trying to use i more and more, like leaving it on during the ritual. Truly pure chaos, I can't wait to see how they use it next.
I think this specific cast of characters has *just* the right mix of competence and stupidity to make it my favourite CoC group so far. This channel really is all killer no filler
They’re definitely playing up the fact that the characters are dumber than the players. 🫣 😂
I love Tom and Harry constantly trying to put the very cursed video into it lol.
Fanny are you OK? You're OK! You're OK Fanny!
You've been hit by, you've been struck by, a smoothe table leg.
Exactly what I heard 😂
A whole table-leg? Quite the geriatric size-queen, isn't she?
So perfect! 😅
I was literally just rewatching the old Call of Cthulhu games with John Steel, Donny and Professor Grizwald! Love this rpg mechanics so much
25:48 As a Canadian, you wouldn't catch me in dead in Tim Hortons
As a Canadian, “We’ll find him at Tim Horton’s” was brilliantly funny!
I really love how everyone has their persistant character. It really links these all together in a charming way.
"We're just pouring cocaine on the demon" oh god, hilarious
I'm running my own Call of Cthulhu game tonight! This is exactly what I need to get in the mood!
All the best luck for you sir :)
Have a great game!
I'm running my own *Cult!*
Running Call of Cthulhu is tons of fun. Good luck!
It went very well
i love the idea of this ancient spawn of the old gods being foiled by a paint can on a string...
Tom is a national treasure and we all must protect him. Tom; if you're reading this, if anyone gives you trouble I'll hit em with my sword. Let me know if you ever need a kidney or an ungodly amount of homemade baked goods 😊
*opens cooler with 5 pristine human kidneys*
"What?"
"I never said the kidney was MINE?"
@@bleedgoat oh you got them too? What type of cooler do you prefer? I like to stick to the classics
@@alexzander6252 "New Kidneys... I Don't like the Colour"
Depending on how well they roll on the traps, they're either going to ace this final boss encounter or just scrape by.
My money's on Mrs. Miggins setting one off and getting pancaked by a surprise falling log
If in doubt, elephant gun
It's going to be like an episode of TTT. Lewis will get caught in his own trap.
"Back during the Boer War...."
Me: *sweats nervously*
"Whenever tribals were holed up in a hut..."
Me: *SWEATS NERVOUSLY*
* nervous sweating intensifies *
Me as a Duch person, sweats nervously
I am leaving this comment to appease the internet spirits! I'm really enjoying the slightly slower pace, I think it gives the characters and players more room to breathe, and it builds suspense.
Also while the cursed tape is super cursed of course, that was very clever and helpful, having it handy!
I love how serious and spooky it was, and how it abruptly got completely derailed by Lewis setting up looney tunes traps
I say it almost every episode. Literally the best content on TH-cam
Really love Lewis' take on "jungle traps"
I love Dr coconuts so deeply. I could never leave him.
This is possibly my favorite scenario yet! Keep up the good work Tom and team!
I ran it a couple Halloween for a few of my brothers and others. Was fun!
While I could dream on nothing better than a series starring Dr Coconuts. I also remember what Harry and Ben did to their monkey in Rimworld. Dr Cocnuts is too pure for this world, just like Mr and Mrs Miggins.
Doctor Coconuts can come with can't he? Why not?
*This is a comment, for the Angorythm.*
he's a wanted war criminal😢
The major. I’m crying over the traps
1:03:17 THE BEST MOMENT! I loved this so much!
33:04 the Major's Lewis accent is uncanny

1:03:19 the spoils of patience 😂
Always look forward to Mystery Quest. Quest on Tom, Quest on.
Tom: You lazily wake up...
Me: Urgh, tell me about it.
Tom: ... to the soothing sound of...
Me: You lost me.
Listening to this driving through the countryside at night f*d me up about as much as paranormal activities.
Expecting night terrors, thanks guys.
Watched yesterday and rewatched today, hilarious and spooky as always!
The sound effects in this episode were top notch, not unlike every other one; but regardless. Something about the small little effects really hit on this one.
The production value is fantastic!
Brilliant cliffhanger - I love Call of Cthulhu, and cannot wait to see how this ends! Keep up the great gaming, and more Call of Cthulhu 🙂
So good! Loving this series! The entire production is amazing!
Will our brave investigators be able to bind the ancient Angory spirit? Find out soon!
We need a Dr. Coconuts Adventure.
these intros are so good❤ and I am loving this session, would be awesome if we could get Simon cameo as his professor character
After what Mr. Coconuts and I did in the former Yugoslavia, I don't know if I want to go back to civilization...
Never stop doing Cthulu, it's truly fantastic
Mystery Quest is so perfect.
I love your COC series, they're always the best. I just finished going back through and watching all of the older Yogs Cthulu episodes and the Mystery Quest ones. I'm glad that it is a staple that will keep coming back
Everyone's voice acting in this one is top notch! Great work guys keep it coming I love you all!!
This might have been one of the best intros so far
I think the Call of Cthulu plays are definitely my favorite!
Interesting mix of Murder She Wrote and Scooby Doo
Raves is such a joy to have in these games
Man, Mystery Quest: Call of Cthulhu is just the best!
I love how this is all coming together
Loved this episode! very excited to see the impending ritual!
May the great old intangible algorithm bless you.
Haven't seen a cliffhanger that good since 24! DAMN!!! When IS next week???
Just want to say thank you guys so much for your COC sessions! I loved COC but I never knew it could be so fun like how you guys play it.
Once I feel brave to run a COC game, I really hope I can make my players enjoy it too.
Loving this one! Tom is a DM for the ages, unforgiving as hell haha
Love call of Cthulhu and the recurring characters
Fantastic episode again, highight of my week these episodes. Keep it coming!
Love this channel! Famous Jungle Door Mat Traps are Scary!
You all put on a great show!!!
He said the thing! 🎉
Ooh the cliffhangeeeer
Recently played through this with my group (I'm a very new keeper). Been super interesting seeing others play through the same story. My players were far less lucky with the attic.
love the audio. really has had a massive improvement. please keep it up for the future.
incredible audio engineering once again!!
Commenting for engagement and to say how great these always are!
Friday mysteries to chill at work with!
I love the cursed film they made! I can't wait to know what kind of epilogue that will bring.
Loved the happy intro 🐵
Amazing episode glad to see the majors skills come into effect. Hopefully... Is all coming togethers. Some very funny moments. Cant wait to see next episode. and whatever chaos may occur.
Great episode
felt generous, leaving a comment to say I love you guys!
Definitely my favourite actual play TTRPG show/podcast at this point!
I have decided it’s finally time to start doing fan-art of all the Call of Cthulhu player groups, and I started with Edge of Darkness.
Is there a way to send the fan-art directly?
i would die for doctor coconuts
Love it! Can't wait for the conclusion!
Oh _please._ I've seen George of the Jungle. I'm sure Dr. Coconuts would do fine in the big city.
Lewis plays a Major SO well XD
When Tom was describing the running man as wearing flannel and britches 😂
Me: Oh my god he was a lesbian!
Harry: Oh my god he was a Canadian!
great series
Yay it’s time for the Willy and Fanny show!
Very good. Loving it

Great job.
commenting for the algorithm and to say this is still my favourite youtube content.
Again! Just as I finish making dinner :3 nice. It's tortilla pizzas and spooky mysteries today! :o
Love this series so much!!!
