- We replaced the roof on this Baystar
Should Newmar step up and help?
When buying an expensive rv it’s important who you buy from!
Is the dealer going to do the right thing?
Did you get an inspection?
We found this issue with the roof and felt it necessary
To give our customer the choice on how to proceed.

A huge thanks to them for allowing us to film the process and continue on with the purchase.
Nice to see a dealer stand behind their work and doing the right thing!!!
My 2011 has the fiberglass roof, love it
Great job James. We just had our roof re-done on our 06 Wanderlodge. As you said it ain't cheap but we figure it was worth it. 100% aluminum re-sealed, re-riveted, and painted. Looks great. Wasn't leaking but was in need of repair. Thanks for being an honest dealer. We need more like you.
SMC Is the way to go. Doug is a very fair man and ready to deal.
He is so comfortable walking the roof, I’m afraid just watching
Great job guys! Doug, I feel you've well documented the factory failure points in regards to the initial roof install, which I'm guessing occurred at the same time as Covid. This may explain the breakdown in manufacturing quality control with a normally, A Plus manufacture like Newmar . Whether the blame is with the materials used, or production workmanship, I strongly feel Newmar should completely stand behind, and make this good on your end in terms of labor & material expenses. "A job worth doing, is worth doing right the first time"
Never cheap to do it the right way. Nicely done. 15 years ago.....had Newmar replace my fiberglass roof cap....almost $30k back then. Roof work done right is never cheap....you don't want it to be 😆
That was a proper job. Amazing game changer. 😊
Looks really good!! When ya get a chance show us some other stuff you guys do. Please.
Great job, amazing you did it right by re-doing the roof.
Awesome job!! It looks better than most factory job!
Well done Doug.
Doug, you should have had flex armor roof put on that roof.
I always enjoy y’all’s videos and when I get my motor home, hopefully, getting James to inspect; any work will be with yall. Good work.
This seems like a warranty issue to me. Even if it’s not the original owner of the manufacturer, should do it right.
Nice work, another repair facility might be tempted to cut a few corners and scuf and glue TPO to existing sheathing or just a layer of luan over top of existing plywood.
Great video and also backs up your word on your inspection and claim of pdi .
AZ Expert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Roof! Roof! Roof! Roof!!!!!!!!! ::: cheering ::: ~Big C in the DP 📢 ::: Air Horn 📢 ::: ::: Air Brakes! ::: 🚌🚌🚌
Nice job!
Looks better than new.
Love watching this. You and James are awesome, I know you usually do upper end newer motorhomes but if its ever in my budget I will be looking at Sewell Motorcoach for one thanks again for showing this .
🇨🇦 great wrk.
Beautiful job!
Why the satellite dish? The new guy is going to switch it to Sky Link probably, I would.
I want to say it come back nice but why don't you use the spray on roofing? That spray on will be the last roof you put on.
Should have used PVC Rv roof material
Awesome job. 15k quite a hit to take, is that added on to purchase price?
Yes.
Just part of doing business.
It cost the buyer $0 extra

Thank you, didn't know that.
Awesome roof repair!💯🔥
Seems to me too the factory warranty should have covered it original or not?
Maybe they will watch this video one day and send us some $$
I’m not holding my breath nor do I expect them to help out.
@RVroofrepair has the system down with commercial TPO standards.
INTEGRITY!
Did you look into Roof Armor?
I’m not sure exactly what roof Armour is
Im thinking it’s a product that goes on top of the finished roof
Be interesting to see what it’s capable of.
Why not put an Aluminum roof.
Newmar is now owned by Winnebago.
Can I get a Job with you
This roof is what make it hard for me to believe that Newmar is Really a Quality motorhome. They put in all the gadgets and fancy stuff you can feel BUT where you cannot see or feel easily they put what constitutes as a Condom for a roof which is the only protection for a half million dollar purchase is RIDICULOUS. The roof should be at the Very Least a filon material but really a 4-6mil group fiberglass with NO seam at the radius. There are 40 year old Winnibago's driving around with filon roofs that are still original and WATERTIGHT. You cannot tell me that it is because of cost as filon is cheap and we are not talking about a Small purchase price, a $150,000 and up RV should have a one peice fiberglass roof at the least because if that fails the rest of the RV is junk. Newmar you NEED TOO DO BETTER, and sadly now you have sold out, maybe winnebago will stop putting plastic bags on for roofing.
I still love Newmar.
