The fact that this had it's own story following just behind noble team over the ridge is beautiful. One of the best animations I have ever seen to this date.
And seeing each subtle bit that you can tell at which point each animation was taking place then Like when they lost their first Spartan on this team It was when they were glassing New Alexandria, which was about the time Noble Team lost Kat.. And the earlier one where they went into the base to activate the AA guns, I would think was also about the time frame Noble Team went to activate the AA guns as well.. They all basically have a global directive to coordinate counterattack and defensive measures... And the end bit, was them holding off at different outposts and take out as many Covenant, and hold off as much heat as long as possible for Noble Team to deliver the package.. All while PoA personnel's are to immediately retreat back to PoA while under covering fire from Reach military force.

They may not be fleshed out and get sob America got Talent sob stories. But you can feel every soldier's blood rushing, their fear and desperation. Every mistake they make, every loss they have, is every moment that becomes significantly worse for them in the firefight. Failure is not an option. And yet under such overwhelming odds, you can't blame them for fcking it up.. Alot of media's nowadays can't really portray well on background or mass mob characters..they exist to show the enemies overwhelming power but its so 1 dimensional flat and get wiped. I'm not sure you noticed, but all of those spartains that died at that base? They appear in game. As bodies you loot armor abilities from in the last level. Noble Six dies standing among them. A graveyard of heroes.
Seem like this team of Spartan was a parameter attempting on holding a covenant back for Nobel team. Pretty sure that cannon shot taking out the cruiser in the background of the video is Noble 6 himself.
@@dadab22 It would be a cool detail if it were true, but it's not. The Spartans that show up on Lone Wolf at the end of Halo Reach are randomly generated according to the Halo wiki. Since they are random though, there's not much of a reason this can't be a sick head canon.
One I love most about this is yes the Spartans are there and kicking some serious Covenant ass but you get to see ODSTs and UNSC troopers struggling and putting up on hell of a fight and shows that UNSC forces even without Spartan assistance are very capable in dealing with enemy forces I would love a game that's similar to ODST but you play as a marine or trooper. I'm pretty sure I read a quote that kinda said that Humanity lost every space battle they fought but on the ground we gave the Covenant no quarter and made them pay dearly for every inch of ground they took it really does make you sympathise with the UNSC forces and what they to the imagination must have had to endure. It's like Captain Cutter said 7 Years 7 long years that's what it took to take Harvest back.
Wait, didn't Cutter say 5 years? I know he says 5 years in the intro to Halo wars. Unless that's counting more time after the events of the game with the rest of the war.
Video does a great job showing the weight of the final battle of Nobel Team. So many Spartan and Marines gave their lives to ensure the Autumn had the best chance of survival. Master Cheif lived on carrying the wraith of all the UNSC of Reach.
The thing is, SourceFilmMaker has a limit build into it (abour 4 GB of RAM), if you reach that limit, the program crashes. I'm probably explaining it wrong, but if have to many models, or if you have a few hi resolution models (plus the map that you film on) you can reach said limit really fast. So kudos to Sodaz for pushing through. That said, I just wanna say that it's super wholesome to see in the comments of the original video all the love SODAZ is getting.
Shit like this helps remind me how TRUELY badass the spartans are in a live engagement. Imagine being a marine seeing half this shit, let alone a grunt.
I'm so happy more and more people are reacting to this! It's such a labor of love to the Halo community and shows Sodaz's exemplary animation and choreography skills to more and more people!
To start with the Covenant ships vary in size with the largest CSO supercarriers reaching 30km in length . Which means they are not small ships. Second the UNSC ground forces didn't drown the Covenant in human blood for the pure fact they didn't have enough humans to use that tactic. The Covenant outnumbered them at least a million to one. They often prepared fortified defenses and let the Covenant come to them. Using heavy artillery and weapons fire to literally murder the Covenant in overlapping fire until their numbers eventually overwhelmed them or the Covenant got tired of getting turned into swiss cheese and decided to simply glass them from low orbit. After clearing out the UNSC Navy of course.
No, pretty sure that was just a general. All Sangheili generals wore that armor in yellow colors in the game. Thel had a more standard looking armor, even with the same colors, but the guy was definitely not here. He was in orbit during this, considering he ordered the fleet to chase after the Autumn - which we SEE leaving the planet.
Hammer, you just reminded me I need to rewatch Starship Troopers sometime, its been a while since I saw it. Although the kill might also be a reference to the Forward Unto Dawn movie where Master Chief shoves the grenade into the same spot of the hunter. Gunning the spot into mesh like Rico, while shoving a grenade into the wound like Chief. Solid references for both.
Check out operation charity falls next. It's a Spartan in red team fighting in the remnants of flood infested high charity from halo wars 2 but it's halo 2 cutscene level.
Yeah, on the ground UNSC forces had a more easier time going toe to toe with Covenant forces. The right tactics, weapons, support, numbers and defenses won many ground battles (and also because humanity had lots of history and culture to draw from*). Since the majority of the time the Covenant used a more standard doctrine/battle plan, unless Supreme Commander Thel Vadamee himself was there. He used the Covenant forces to it's full potential in combat against Humanity. Space battles on the other hand were much more in favor of the Covenant due to the sheer tech gap between both factions. Even the old and forgotten ships from the early days of the covenant were more powerful then what 26th century humanity could make. *Not saying that Sangheili were lacking in that area, they just didn't have anything as deep as ours. If they did have that same level of Depth to draw from like us, I don't even know what the end result would be but it would be extremely formidable.
Honestly cool that they even covered the final battles that happened around the last 2 missions of halo reach when you see a massive army of scorpions worthogs and marines duking it out with nearby covenant forces near the pillar of autumn before it could take off as well as that mass driver canon shot that disabled the covenant cruiser that was getting ready to glass the pillar of autumn. Good shit.
The Human-Covenant war was going terribly for humanity, and at some point it was literally only the main solar system left. meaning every human world had been glassed and destroyed by the covenant. I could be wrong about that, but the main point, is that humanity won because of pure luck.
A good amount of them were glasses/lost yes, but others were lost in communication and are presumed to be lost. Many did survive the war, but were likely out of the way of the Covenant armada's hunting down humanity as they retreated. I have the big Halo encyclopedia to use as info.
